Agree with you. Even Vito said that before their first match, he didn’t even know him. But now that Vito has time to prepare more and Crookham still coming out on top, he might just win NCAA this year

People think crookham came out of nowhere but he was a 3 time Pennsylvania state champion in hs, the only reason people might have not heard of him was because he didn’t compete in national tournaments junior/senior year due to covid and injury, but he was a top recruit and it’s not surprising he’s this successful
Crookham is a gangster. Belongs at PSU under Cael, but doing his own thing at Lehigh.
Well also, college wrestling follower here… I could give two craps about hs wrestling until watching them get recruited at the next level I feel like a lot of people are like that

@@Vincentovich89 He does not belong at Penn State. Lehigh is a better school. Penn States most famous wrestler was Jerry Sandusky who liked to wrestle in the showers.
Vito Matt Ramos & Real Woods don’t look the same this year

Yeah...no doubt. Ramos was always a little more erratic in Folkstyle, but Vito looked just unbeatable last year. He dominated RBY after Fix.

Ryan Crookham is just a freshman, Vito is a 6th year senior and world champion. Ryan doesn't even have a resume and is beating this legend.

@@joenu7s I made a mistake, it's his 7th year. He's a senior and in his 7th year, but officially his 5th year because of redshirting and cobidium. Still though, Ryan is only a redshirt freshman and beating Vito twice in one season. Vito was visibly enraged.

@@jeffjeff8562 bro what? look him up on the cornell website and it says his freshman year was 2018-19 and his HS senior year was 2017-2018. That makes this his 5th year. its actually only because of covid though, i guess he was never redshirted

Crookham first takedown and Vito quick reversal was so fast I had to watch it twice.

Crookham was a hammer in high school so this isnt as crazy as people make it out to be. Consensus no. 1 recruit in c/o 2022 for almost 3 years straight before injury made him drop in the rankings

I'll still he taking Vito...if healthy(though I won't really know I guess) in the NCAAs, but I certainly won't be surprised either way.
These two and Fix..they SEEM like the clear top 3. And Fix will again have Vito on his side.

Match of the century? This was a typical match. He won 10-6. Barely a match.
It's been kind of cool lately when they had the officials properly microphoned so we could hear their "instructions"; not just the commentary. For me, at least, being able to hear that active involvement in the match is a very real part of the match.

Crookham makes me feel nostalgic. He reminds me of the days of Lehigh when they had Cory Cooperman, Matt Anderson, Dereck Zinck, Dave Nakasone and others (a team of counter-offensive wizards).
Crookham is better than any Lehigh wrestler they ever had.

Great match but Crookham not getting a single stall call is kind of ridiculous. Other than that first flurry and last takedown he was on his heels the entire match. Got shot out of bounds 3 times.
I agree Vito doesn't look the same but that is not taking anything away from Ryan . Ryan looks great!

Dude crookham backed up the whole match he got lucky on one shot now I will say he's good playing the circle but he should have been hit at least 3 stalling calls if he's wrestling big tens he's getting hit with stalling this league let's you stall

RC and VA, they put on the best matches. Makes you want to see this matchup again and again. Iy looks like the outcome will always be the same. RC and MM should be fantastic.

All day. It's subtle but it's stalling. Crookham is backing up halfway through the second all the way to the end
Vito just needs to sit on the edge and jump out of bounds if Crookham takes a shot. It works for Crookham.
Seriously. The short steps to gradually get yourself back to the edge HAS to get called for stalling at nationals. Crookham took maybe a dozen steps forward the entire match and they call stalling at the whistle like it matters then?

Crookham's damn good, I'm impressed. I thought maybe their first match was a fluke but no way, Crookham's technical skills are sound, he tactically executed a great match. NCAA finals waiting to complete this trilogy!

Vito has a neck or shoulder injury. Possibly a pinched nerve. From what I’ve seen of him the past month, this seems to be the case. He’s clearly holding back and very tentative compared to last year this summer.
Crazy not even a warning for stalling in a match of this magnitude. He took him to the edge at least 4x between 3rd and 4th.. gotta change the rule this off-season. If im Vito, if I win it this year im just focusing on the Olympics. He needs to heal up, evwryone else did but him.. since he won the Worlds
Hats off to Crookham to beat Vito not once but twice! That said as any wrestler knows some styles just have trouble with others, and I think Brooklyn's style along with his strength is not a good matchup for Vito. However i think Crookhams style plays into Dayton Fixs strengths too so Nationals will be really interesting and the seeds and bracket postion will huge fof this weight! And just like someone else said remember Carr beat Otoole twice then lost in the Natty Finals, so we will see. Great wim tho and repect too how based Crookham is!

This isnt freestyle folks. And Crookham and Vito are amazing wrestlers. Do not take anything away from either one. It simply is not freestyle, which vito is world champion.

Crookham is great. But if it is freestyle I can still tell Vito would win. Which is why he needs to forget about NCAAs and focus on the Olympics going to 65.

I knew Crookham wasn’t on his level. Needs to initiate offense and not strategize and game plan so much that’s terrible for a freshman
Way to spoil the match with a quick window halfway through saying Crookham won.
Vito made numerous errors and allowed Ryan to get to his bread and butter.
Vito has to make changes in how he wrestles if he wants to win another NCAA title.
Vito's leg looked just fine after faking the knee injury in order to get an escape. Still didn't help him any though
