Bro you don’t have to explain yourself. All looked stock to me. God bless.
a video about nothin.
If you didn’t make this video I never would’ve noticed them. Seems like they are exactly where they should be
Same here I drive a 2020 ram 2500 for work on stocks I really thought the 35s made it look like that
@@austinkichler9695 I’m in the same boat as Caleb I run 14 wides on my Ford and had 12 wides on my Cummins so these sticking out less than 1” looks normal to me
@@zackanderson9254 what’s the big deal with spacers? Is it bad for the truck?
@@dzeleh5501 they’re known to break lugs off and not great for the front end parts of a truck. He should have been told that they were on the truck because safety with them is a big factor especially being such a cheap brand
@@dzeleh5501 There's no difference between spacers and offset wheels. The stress on the parts is the same no matter how the offset is achieved. It's a leverage issue. How the leverage is applied makes no difference.
Were people upset you had spacers or something? lmao
I should of done better at explaining my point there, I was mainly upset that SO many people have commented about how they were positive it had spacers, and I brushed them off like “no it doesn’t, I haven’t out any on” (obviously not thinking at the Time the dealership already did) I look like an ass lol
@@ParoDoXz ya but who really cares if you have spacers or not you did not know at first thats not your fault the truck looks good and that is all that matters
@@ParoDoXz HUGE difference when you simply didn’t know! Don’t sweat it! Dealership should have DEFINITELY let you know! Nice looking truck!
This is a hell of a statement video over some spacers lmao. Lord help us if it has a body lift too 😂
Can't wait to hear the results of the test without spacers. I have the same truck and want the same tires.
They definitely should have told you before doing it!!
Dont feel bad man. This has happened to me many times. When you are purchasing something new you kinda get a tunnel vision and it's easy to miss things. I'd say the paint issues and the stress and disappointment just narrowed your vision to the most pertinent issue.
I have taken many things home only to discover disappointing things when I have the time and clarity to properly assess them.
Dont beat yourself up, it's a common phenomena. I'd def be pissed off at the dealership though.
Legally they would have a duty of care to inform you of a potentially dangerous modification. You have some recourse there. Cheers
***READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT ****
Let me know guys, is this something the dealership should have mentioned?!! Or no?? Let me know below! **ALSO** I should of done better at explaining my MAIN point here, I was mainly upset that SO many people have commented about how they were positive it had spacers, and I brushed them off like “no it doesn’t, I haven’t put any on” (obviously not thinking at the time the dealership already did) I look like an ass lol
Yes they should of disclosed that there are spacers on this truck.
Dang man, If i was you, i would return that thing and get my money back. You have a lot of patience!
I dont think you would be as upset about it if you hadnt told people it didnt have them. I've ran 2 inch spacers for 2 years and they are fine. As long as your torque them and use lock tite, you're good to go. I assume the back space of the wheel wouldnt let the 35s fit. People get in trouble when they dont torque wheel spacers .. I would at very least retorque the lugs on the spacers and wheels, then wheel again in 500 miles. The stealership should have at least gave you a heads up.
Dealership should've known better , to not disclose wheel spacers. Wheel spacers HAVE to be retorqed every so often, they took a risk not telling you.
Personally, I believe they should have told you. I work in the auto parts industry. I'm not a fan of wheel spacers at all. Especially if you're going to two with it. I personally don't like selling wheel spacers. Yes, the dealership should of told you about the wheel spacers
yes! the dealer should have called or told you when you got there that they had to put spacers.. I'll take the spacers off and see if it rubs and how it look..
You’re not idiot dude you don’t have to explain it I would’ve missed too keep up with the great work...
Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone has missed things in their life. You are not the first and you will not be the last.
Absolutely something a dealership should let you know about! You ain't trippin Caleb you got a valid point.
I wouldn't have known at a glance.
Buddy! Dont worry so much what people think of u. If you wanna feel better to say something, say oh I didnt realize that and if people wanna ride your ass for nothin. Tell them to go somewhere, dont need to be here commenting. You realize people just do that to get a rise out of you right
I didn’t even notice the spacers either 😂😂
Love the content man. Can’t wait to see more matter content.
I can't believe that this would be an issue with anybody. I mean, seriously, it's just some spacers. I think there's bigger things going on in this world right now.
Buyers remorse or youtube drama?
And what issues should be concerned about??
I mean when you spend $70k+ you don’t just say yeah I’ll take whatever home with me you fucked up
@@ayden5406 spacers take like 2 mins to remove man . It does nothing nothing
This was just a click bait to me
Everybody messes up from time to time, can’t expect to notice everything all the time. You are still doing a great job with your site. Looking forward to seeing Mater!!!!!
I used to work for a Chevy dealership and we would have never put a set of tires on a truck if you had to use spacers just to make them fit. I’m not sure if you can even legally do that without the customers consent and or signature. Seems shady to me.
Yup. Spacers AND the scratches... Where'd this truck come from??
I have learned over the years to have a physical check list that you go through when checking out a vehicle.
I get that you missed the spacers on initial inspection as there is no major stance (I might have too). That said, can't figure out the big deal. I'm assuming there are other wheels that have offsets that will give that look without spacers if they worry you that much (it's a simple unbolt and remove), but I see no issue with quality spacers (which rough country are) CORRECTLY installed. Will the increased offset put a little more strain on the front (balljoints, tierods, etc), most likely but no more than a similar offset wheel. I run rear aluminum 1.5-2" spacers on my Duramax and square body pulling truck (for over 15 years now). I tow my pulling truck on a 10K equipment trailer with the Duramax and truck pull with both. The truck pull transfer sled weighs 45,000lbs and stops both trucks dead in their tracks under full power and I have no worries about spacers on either truck. Using cheap Chinese knockoffs with sub-par studs and not checking proper torque would be a concern, but I'm hoping the dealer used quality parts and has a competent tech who installed them. Probably wouldn't hurt to re-check torque after a few hundred miles, but after that I wouldn't worry. I am COMPLETELY new to your channel, but it doesn't look like you overwork/overload your truck, so there should be zero worry when properly installed.
Caleb, first I would not have suspected the spacers. It looked natural with the spacers. Second: we have had some problems with front office and back office at our local keep/ram dealership and now we call the GM directly for service. Third: they have apparently done this before and knew they would need them. I would have them get you rims with the proper offset or a credit to put different rims on.
I own a 2017, level kit, 35" Nitto's, looks stock to me. No big deal. Like you, I was told dealerships couldn't put spacers on either.
Have have 35s on my 5th gen stock wheels with no spacers no rubbing but I definitely agree they should of let you know for sure!
What tires are you running that don't rub? I'm looking at the BFG K02's 35x12.5R20 with a 2" levelling kit, wondering if that will clear without rubbing (mixed comments it seems). I would love 37's, but that seem to require a lot more customization with a much higher lift (4"+). I love the stance of this truck with the spacers, but and I don't want to swap out my stock 20's, so not sure how it would look without spacers (video suggestion). Also looking to improve the ride quality of my brand new 2022 Ram 3500 Laramie. Any additional info helps, thanks all!
Don’t stress about it too much. I would have been so hung up on the scratched up paint just like you I probably would have missed a lot of issues and never noticed until I got home. I agree with you dealership should have said something about the spacers. Knowing dealerships surprised they didn’t charge you a extra grand for those. 😂
Dealers are like politicians, say and does what works for them first, don’t beat yourself up.
Yeah that dealership is shady as hell, they should have told you. I would never have thought to check for spacers from a dealer.
I wouldn’t noticed that either, I’m also use to stance being 14 wides
I would NOT have expected and or inspected the truck for wheel spacers... it’s all good boss... dealership should have notified you prior to making that change... at the very least asked you to make that choice... crazy... take care and God bless... Dave.
With rubber sticking out beyond the side profile is great if you want a rock and gravel thrower. It will rake your sides. Some jurisdictions will ticket you for extensions beyond your body.
I have those same wheels and tires on my 5th Gen 2500 w/2” Thuren coils. No spacers.....no rubbing
10:18 I didn't know dealerships could add spacers legally either!
My truck has a 5" lift from the dealer and they warranty the whole thing
I’d say for someone who just buys it to drive it’s not a big deal but someone who NEEDS the Cummins it should have at least been mentioned because under serious load they may cause something to fail prematurely
By law a dealership is not required to volunteer information, they only have to be truthful when you ask direct questions (in my state at least). but they added spacers because more than likely you had a rub, even if it was only once in a while, but you got them for free without having to chase down where it was and if you planned on making changes that might eliminate it or just buy and add spacers...like I do. My Tundra Crewmax Platinum has a 3/2 leveling kit with 33x12.5x20 (which I think might be smaller than yours) and I get a small rub someplace if I have to cut sharp. I have considered spacers, but idk if it is the stock stone guard/mud flap which I can remove to sole the problem, if it is the stock skid plate which I plane to replace and might fix the issue, or if it is something else that I can only solve with buying and adding the spacers. I get how you feel and know what you're thinking, I would be also, but looking at the silver lining it might have saved you some time, money, and/or work by them doing it for you.
I bought a RAM 1500 from Jimmy Britt 6 months ago with a 6” RC lift and 37” Toyo MT’s. I almost bought the truck you have. Just went out and looked. They put spacers on my truck too! Didn’t even know until I watched this video. Simple oversight. Keep making great videos man!
Dang it drives me nuts when people call them “5th gens” it’s still a 4th gen with different front end and different interior it’s like when thru changed the front end of the 3 rd gen the kept the cab abs doors and bed the same just change the front end and dropped in a 6.7 but still called it 3rd gen so why call this a 5th gen when’s it’s just a upgraded front end and interior 4th gen
Go drive a 4th gen limited then drive a 5th gen limited. And then come back and try to tell me it's not a 5th gen. Might be the same cab but the new truck is MILES better.
@@loganshort1324 it might be different in some or a lot of ways but it’s still the same cab same doors same bed and pretty much same frame so it’s still a 4th gen till they change the rest of the body and not just the front end
It’s your rim offset. The dealership probably didn’t know it needed a Specific offset for them tires. So instead of buying new rims they just put the spacers
Dude.... The truck is beautiful and looks factory to me. All those haters are just butt hurt of your success. Keep up the good work and keep pushing forward.
If you hadn’t of told me it had spaces I would’ve never of guessed, I just put a 3 inch Carli back country system on my Ram 2018 2500 with 37 12.5 R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers, Method MR701 18” x9” plus 18 offset with No wheel spacers and about the same stance.
I got a 20 ram 2500 and with the same setup with no spacers. Hell I didn't even notice a difference on ur truck, looks just how mine sits.
My 19 dually came with spaces like everyone else. 🤷♂️
I drive a gen1 Raptor my stance is awesome... I never get tired of looking at it... 35 “ nitto ridge grapplers. Beautiful
I have the same setup only diference i got bf goodrich 35s. Wont rub with out spacers but wont look the same. Im running 1 1/2 spacers. No spacers will make you change the factory wheels not stance at all. Also have a levelling kit. I did turren springs with fox schocks.
I don’t see a issue , if you don’t like them just remove them , I’ve run spacers and haven’t had any issues with them
I should of done better at explaining my point there, I was mainly upset that SO many people have commented about how they were positive it had spacers, and I brushed them off like “no it doesn’t, I haven’t out any on” (obviously not thinking at the Time the dealership already did) I look like an ass lol
@@ParoDoXz You should have to explain yourself, it’s your truck bought with your own money , we all make some mistakes when buying stuff luckily it was just spacers and some paint correction
The sales guys had no idea , they sent the truck in for wheels so they could jack the price up. The tire shop put spacers on, they likely put them on everything because they are $30 each.
I put 17" Methods with a 25mm offset and 35" tires on mine after installing a 2in Thuren leveling springs. That size wheel (if you want 17s) is the best size to keep the tires from rubbing. They do stick out past the flares maybe 2in at most. I have a 2018 Laramie I bought new and the stock wheels on it hid inside the fenders. If you put bigger tires on them 35x12.50 you might get rubbing. I wouldn't buy a lifted truck from a dealer due to their mark up, possible shoddy install, and lack of quality (not Carli or Thuren).
I’m usually pretty good at spotting trucks with spacers especially on stock wheels but I did not notice love your videos man keep up the good work
Mistakes happen brother...I have a 2019 5th Gen with 18” Method Wheels with 35” Toyo M/T’s...the wheels have a 5.75” Back Spacing with zero rubbing! Looks and rides excellent!
Dealerships will do anything to sell a vehicle!! I had a brand new van back to the dealership 7 time because the stereo would not hold the Chanel on Sirius XM, every time we shut the van of and turned it back on it switches to FM. Dealer says there no problem. My sister is a engineer for Chrysler for 30 years. I told her about it and she asked me if it had a DVD player, I said yes. She said do the controls for the DVD player come up on the display I said no. She said they added the DVD player aftermarket and spliced into the aux plug in the back of the radio. BAMM!!!! 100% correct!! Soooo pissed they didn’t tell me it was aftermarket. We took it back 7 times. They should have to tell you if they do stuff like that. Kudos for owning it.
truck looks good Without the goofy tires/rims sticking out so much. definitely need to get rid of spaces and get new rims with different offsets.
They didn't have someone who knows the ins and outs of customizing. They need to tell the customer of all aftermarket mechanical mods.
You are a great guy for owning up to your mistake, which is not that bad. Just buy some hub-centric spacers and call it a day. I think the dealership should have told you about it.
good looking truck. spacers were a good option.
Yes, the dealership should tell you about the spacers!
If you didn’t know…that’s no big deal at all. Just a learning….what happens in life. You own it & move on (which you did). I appreciate the video & your honesty
With all the controversy over spacers and it being a brand new truck I'd think they would say something. Then to also use rough country spacers on top of it.
You and your work both amazing, doing things crazy man hell yeah🤘🤙😎
Don’t sweat the small stuff brother. Just get new rims when you can or take them off if they bother you.
I won't remove the spacer because they probably realign with them on the truck so you take them off it will be off the alignment again
Man I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out in this video, some people must’ve been dissecting your video lol
dont beat yourself up man you bought a beuatifull truck with or without spacers and if you decide youre gonna get rid of them i could use a pair my 04 rubs on full lock 😅😅 keep on trucking brother 👌
Yout not tripping. The dealer should have said something. Running spacers could possibly cause alignment and bearing damage.
Keep killing it with all the content!
Bro don't bear yourself up. Most people would not have noticed it. Beautiful truck and congrats on the success
My 04 Ram I've only used Cooper Tires but my 2014 Ram Sport I'm running Mickey Thompson 35/12.50/20 with fuel rims and just a leveling kit I have no issues with rubbing or clearance but that's one thing I hate more than anything is when you see the tires tucked under the truck I just feel like telling the person to have a little respect for their vehicle and make it look right.
Cant wait to see Mater rolling.
Take em off and add a Carli kit
I knew right away …I literally just bought the same truck same wheels same tires but 295/65r20 I actually like your stance it’s perfect. Lawnmower look is out
The dealership needs to notify the customer of ANY changes to the vehicle. It doesn’t matter what it is.
My luck it would void the warranty.. good looking truck!
Crazy that they didn’t say anything about it, regardless if people think you should have looked. That’s something you tell the customers.
I would not be happy with the dealership with that. I would have called them. Love you're videos
I’d have taken it back. If they did all that incorrectly and didn’t mention anything, who knows what else they’re hiding. Unacceptable.
I honestly would have never guessed to add spacers
Don’t worry. The dealership do dumb things. My uncle bought a lifted tundra from Toyota and it had plasti dip black bumpers when he thought it had satin bumpers as a trim level or painted. It wasn’t until he pressure washed it and the plasti dip came off lol.
So how did you go with being able to remove the spacers and still run the stock black wheels with 12.5 MT, was there any hassles or was it all good without the spacers.
I have the same question! I have the same truck in gray and it’s literally in the shop getting a leveling kit and 35 Tokyo mts as I’m seeing this. I looked up if it would rub or not because I didn’t know, but I’m over here wondering if I need spacers too?
I have a 2001 extra cab long bed Dodge Ram diesel 2500 with a lot of Gale Banks performance parts oversized Turbo added a different turbine inside and it's an absolute animal. Purchased a set of Dodge Ram rims from a swap meet brand new I think they're a limited edition they are a six-spoke 8-lug but with my Fender Flares they sat under the truck and I cannot stand the way that looks so I purchased a really good set of wheel spacers to get the tires to sit a little bit past if not flush with the fender flare and never had a issue with them yet and I always drive around with the truck loaded with construction tools have towed ATV trailers with to Grizzly 660 7x12 dump trailers and pulled a tractor trailer out of a parking lot which the driver did not realize was just blacktop that day. Would love to purchase a new Power Wagon but this time I think I'm going with the new Rebel still looking. 👍🇺🇸
I currently have 1.7" spacers on my brand new 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, I don't have a care in the world if their on! Just make sure they get tourqed to the right poundage every tire rotation and you'll be fine! Iv never had any problems with spacers! Just make sure that they are hub centric!
If I am not mistaken You have to run the spacers so you do not rub the frame on the inside and the crash bar on the front We have been doing that at our shop
You paid $80,000 for a scuffed-up, scratched brand new black truck with all the bells and whistles and you picked the tires, they are not going to modify the truck, what did you think they would do, they are not going to tell you no on the tire size.
Hey bro, nice truck don't listen to the haters. I have a 2014 Ram 2500 all black crew cab 4x4 with a 131255 miles on her. I need to have my truck detailed like that... VERY NICE!
I wouldn't have looked either. Honestly, I wish trucks would just come with that stance to begin with. I run 35s on my Tundra on stock wheels with a leveling kit, and they still looked tucked.
It's all on that dealership for the whole debacle. They are the ones that should own up for the condition of that truck. You are tryin to fix their f'ups. I see no problem on your end. I'd hold that dealership responsible for fixing it right!
That stealership seems scandalous as f...
I can understand spacers on the front, because a truck is naturally going to have a narrower wheelbase there. The back might have 1.5 spacers to level out how the front is in relation to the rear. I personally don’t care for spacers.
you dont need spacers i have the exact same truck in and out and mine jsut has leveled on 35's with no issues. However I am now putting 2'' spacers.
Dealers only care about your money when you leave you are a complete stranger to them and if you complain most of them will treat you like shit..
Dealerships should let customers know EVERYTHING that has been altered on their vehicles.
damn right!
I wouldn't have and I'd be pissed. Sadly that dealer saw you coming they wanted it gone. I'd be raising hell.
No matter what that truck has, its a beautiful damn truck.
Still looks good. I don’t think the spacers would be as hard on the ball joints as 14 wides? But as my rule every 80-100,000 miles replace ball joints.
The guy brought a paint light and got the dealer to wash the truck to inspect the paint but didn’t notice the suspension lift setup or the spacers. People have different knowledge levels or awareness on all aspects. A pre purchase inspection by a mechanic would be nice
6 inch bds will solve your problem, then you can run 37's, but when I got my truck i had a leveling kit and had 35, had to change rims and offset, they come with 43positive offset, went to +19 and work well, stance is about an inch and 1/2 out, not sure if you need to go to 0 offset will make a bigger difference in stance, no rub with level and +19 offset
Also went from 8inch rim to 9 inch, sorry forgot that peice of info😂
I honestly like the spacers, but if you wanna take them off to see why they done that go for it man. The truck still looks nice!
I've been struggling to decide on 2 vehicle. Which ever one I decide is what I will place an order on...
1. 2022 ram 2500 night edition Laramie with rambox
2. 2022 Ford F250 Tremor night edition with 7.3Liter engine
Which would you suggest? If I go with the ram. I've wonder how big of a tire I can add on a stock 20 inch rims with no lift kit and no trimming?
Let me know your thoughts and which I should go for.
Eric
I'm one of the guys who commented asking about spacers. It doesn't look to but I've read 12.5s scrub is why I asked. I have the same wheel and tire combination without spacers. I have a thuren 2in level with their adjustable track bar though, I don't have the puck style level. I have no scrubbing.
Keep up the good work Caleb
I’ve got a 19 with the leveling kit and same tires....didn’t need the spacers.....maybe the dealer had plans on puttin a different rim on but rushed the truck out for a sale....
I would never expect spacers to be on a new truck with 10 miles. But I don't know what all had to be done to get the leveling kit on correctly
I don't think anyone would have caught it when they were buying it. I watched the video of you picking up the truck and you were going over the truck really good. Plus the paint took your attention away from the stance..
Good looking truck, good looking stance. Funk what others think about the spacers. No one cares. Run it. Enjoy it.
Dude it’s your money your truck! But I appreciate you opening our eyes!
The spacers were obvious (at least to me). Truck looks great btw!
You’re definitely not tripping! They should have notified you of the spacers
The biggest deal about the spacers is the dealership should have let you know other than that it's a sweet truck. Congratulations on the new truck.
Let us know if the spacers were needed with the 35’s. Just bought a 2022 ram 2500 limited night edition and want to put a leveling kit with Toyo MT
You tripping that truck clean as hell my dream truck i wouldn't take no spacers off
I work for a Toyota dealership and when we lift anything we put control arms on and everything but never allowed to put spacers on no matter what the issue is. A dealer should never do that unless they are expecting a lawsuit.
I have a 2021 with 2.5 leveling kit and 35 No spacers they don’t rub they put the spacers just to make it look better
