i've put this on all my boats and jetskis for like 20-ish years now. it's like a foot massage compared to that sandpaper grip tape crap that used to come stock on jetskis. and it is way more durable than that terrible marine carpet. it blows my mind it took so long for the marine industry to really embrace it.
*How hot does the Eva Foam get? Eva Foam available from us is UV Resistant and stays cool to the touch even on hot summer days. We have been on full black EVA Foam (HydroTurf) in the middle of the day in summer barefoot with no issues. Forgot to add that little note to the video.
I did seadek and Marine mat which is pretty much the same thing. I can tell you this , from a black foam to a white foam , the difference in surface temp can be as much as 20 degrees. However , if you go to a lighter color , stains will show up more versus darker tones. I tried to stay somewhat neutral , with light greys and light blues etc......Still hard to keep clean but on a kayak when you are overtop that surface all day and just a foot or two from it , it does make a huge difference.
To be fully transparent, Seadeck and I assume others EVA foam decks, will deform and discolor in reflective sun light. I read the reviews after I made the mistake
So why invest in it when it doesn’t last? After it warps and fades you need to worry about how to get the old stuff off with the adhesive. Must be a headache!
The real solution is to use pure aluminum and have it polished to a high shine. That’ll last a while! Make sure it’s shiny like a mirror, itll tan you right up too.
I’m replacing the carpet in my 2004 tracker PT175 with hydro turf, so what can I do about the gaps left between the lids and deck or box edges due to the old carpet having been rolled over the edge of the lids??? Can I coat exposed aluminum with a rubberized coating to deaden noise and cover exposed aluminum??? PLEASE, AND ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Have a 18.9 Xpress aluminum boat. It has a bed liner type stuff sprayed on the decks. I would imagine one would have to remove this coating before installing the EVA. Yes or no?

If you do happen to accidentally let blood sit on this shaving cream even the cheap stuff will make blood vanish and leave a cleaned spot where it used to be just a free tip

If I had to guess, Hydro-Turf has probably been around longer. But they stayed in the PWC market back in the 90s. But I could be wrong.

It also matters how you store the boat. If you leave it outside without a cover, yeah, it probably will

How do EVA foams you showed, compare to the PE foam AquaTraction uses ? AquatTraction feels much tougher and actually warranties color and adhesion.

Seal the wood really well with Fiberglass resin, then sand smooth with 80 grit and it will stick great.

No we have not, and even if we did, you still need to get it scanned. No two boats are exactly the same. We have made that mistake before and nothing fit right from one boat to the next.

What’s the price difference of getting a custom measured kit and just sheets and cutting it yourself?
If you DIY the sheeting you will save money. If your paying someone to hand lay the sheets, routed/scanned will be same or cheaper
