Good buy Austin! I’ve owned the Equinox 700 for three weeks now, great machine. I’m thinking seriously on buying the Exterra for a backup just because of being waterproof. The VDI’S are the same as the NOX 700 so far 88-90 Quarter 81-83 dime 60-65 zinc penny 68-76 copper penny 78 usually a wheat penny. 25-28 nickel 29-39 pull tabs & 40-50 almost always a ring pull with beaver tail. Silver rings are also in the high 40’s to 50. 14K rings 10-16. Sorry about the long comment.
@@robertkoch7431 practice and make small holes like surgery to recover your targets and always take the trash with you please Never ever put trash back into the hole ok 👌
Just picked one up. Feels light, well balanced. Seems quality built. Interface is pretty user friendly. A bit more so than Simplex. Being able to adjust handle position is great. Took out for a quick swing. Hit on point for test targets. Happy do far.
If I was on a strict budget, new to the hobby, and wanting to hunt in the water at saltwater beaches I would choose it over the simplex, AT Max, and the other Minelab machine that isn't water proof that you use. But if I wanted a detector that could keep up with the expensive top of the line multi-frequency but didn't want to fork out close to a grand I would stick with the Nokta Legend. Deus II is my dream machine though just because it looks to be the lightest and best performer on the beach.
My thoughts exactly... I run a Legend (which I love) but am thinking about picking one of these up to have a backup machine and to have an extra incase I want to bring a non-detecting friend along. I'm not in a hurry though.. I'll give it a couple months for guys to dig in to it and make sure it's as good as I think it might be.
Just a heads up. I love the Deus 2 on the beach but I would say the Garrett Ace Apex is actually a very close comparison and much cheaper. I own both and love both
Would you recommend this as an upgrade from the Vanquish 340? I know you use the 440, but they're similar machines. For reference, I do park hunts mostly
My honest opinion is I can't say that the X-TERRA will find more.. but it offers you a few more features to play around with if you like that kind of thing. Different tones & options to experiment with. It feels a little more durable than the Vanquish... but my Vanquish has always treated me good!
Very good out of the box hunt. I like it, I like it a lot.. I want one. Someday I will have one in hand.. Thanks Austin for your straight up honest reviews and Videos.. Peace Brother.
Hey I really need some help. I’m looking to get my first detector. I’m stuck between the nokta findx pro, simplex lite, and the xterra pro. I’m trying to stay under $300. They’re all waterproof and seem pretty similar in features. What would you recommend? If you have any other recommendations under $300 new would be great. Thank you in advance! Love the channel dude!!
Previously had the MineLab CTX3030. But it died shortly after the warranty expired. I then bought an X Terra Pro and sent it back after 2 days. Depth and small parts had not been convincing. Then I bought a Golden Mask 5+se and it works really well! Also had a Fisher Gold Bug, a Whites MX7 and a Nokta Makro Simplex+. The best was the CTX3030 and right behind it was the Golden Mask 5+se.
Never heard of the Golden Mask but sometimes those lesser known machines can be the best! I'm still trying to figure out the X-Terra but I bet it can't compete with the CTX. 👍
One thing I haven't seen addressed is the battery pack. According to a response I got from Minelab is that they do not offer a replacement battery pack for the X-terra Pro to anyone, even dealers. It would be covered under the 3 year warranty, but what are you suppose to do after the warranty is expired? I was ready to order one, but this has it on hold for a while and hope a replacement pack will be available in the near future. I tend to keep my detectors for a long time, like my first one from the 1960's (a BFO machine) that i still have. Great vid and look forward to seeing more from you!
People don't think much long term anymore but that is a good point. I just looked it up & it looks like it might use the same or similar battery as the Equinox 600 & 800. If that's the case there are some after market sellers of the batteries for around $30-36... so hopefully they fit the X-Terra. Looks like X-Terra has a 3.7V/5100mah battery in it, think it's in the handle.
@@TreasureOutdoors I ended up getting one a couple of weeks ago. It is in the handle and I found out it does take the same battery as the new model Nox. Not the older models with the round battery, but the newer 600 and 800 models. Als found out you can run it while charging, that means you can have a battery bank in your pocket and run a cord long enough to the detector and keep going if you get caught with the detector running out before you do.😁
Live videos of the X-Terra Pro show coins reading as iron in all frequencies, air tests from other videos show its limitations of depth are approximately 11 to 12 inches even with the 12 inch coil, but for people at the beach it's still a strong contender. Using old school Whites machines I found coins from the mid-1700s at no deeper than 9 to 10 inches, so target range depth is not the most important issue for me as a Nokta Simplex and Qwest Q10 Pro user, it's that casino slot machine sound of the Minelab and serious processing delay!. Notice the sounds are heard only after the coil has passed over the target. What I love about the Nokta Simplex is the old school threshold that enables you to find the deepest targets. Nokta plans to update the frequency of the Simplex from 12 to 15 MHz which will totally destroy its depth making the Minelab the leader of the pack, so sad. Any thoughts?
It has its quirks... but it's pretty good for $269. I always think every machine has a little advantage in some department.. whether it's price to performance, stability.. options or just pure depth. I still like my Simplex, nice & simple.. hope they keep it that way. Will Nokta release an update for the current simplex or will the new frequency be on the newer version Simplex machines?
Put sensitivity down to 17 in the water 💦 and it’s very quite in beach 2 it’s sensitive to smaller targets that’s the diff between simplex small golds won’t be left behind 💙🇬🇷🏖💪
