The T-SPS Waterproof jacket features an advanced poly-fabric main shell for high levels of tear and abrasion resistance. Featuring a waterproof membrane which is fully seam-taped, air vents and a removable thermal liner, the T-SPS Waterproof Jacket is ideal for a range of weather conditions. With class-leading Nucleon Flex Plus protection on the shoulder and elbow and the option to upgrade with Alpinestars Nucleon chest and back protection, the T-SPS Waterproof Jacket is ideal for urban riding.
Chassis constructed from hard wearing 600 Denier polyester with double polyurethane coating for additional protection.
Level 1 Nucleon Flex Plus armor on shoulder and elbow (Nucleon chest Level 1 and Nucleon Level 1 and 2 back protectors available as an accessory upgrade).
600 Denier polyester internal reinforcement on shoulders and elbows for additional abrasion resistance.
Hook and loop waist and cuff with YKK zip for a secure closure.
Low profile collar construction with soft lining for enhanced rider comfort.
Two front zippered pockets, inner waterproof document pocket and two inner pockets on the liner for safe and secure storage.
Removable thermal liner allows the rider to adjust the jacket to the weather conditions.
Upper side vents for optimal airflow.

Hey Brian, how do you think this jacket would perform during winter? Is the termal liner enough for riding between 30 and 45 °F without freezing?
I think you will be a bit chilly at 30 degrees. If the day starts at 45 and warms as you go this jacket should be good to go. You can always layer up a bit to help keep you warm. - Van
I am considering this jacket or the Stratos V2 from you guys, can you let me know which is more flexible when it heats up a bit? Rising 5-6 months a year in Indiana so looking for good versatility not necessarily a mesh jacket. Thanks!

Your the DR not me my man. IMO there is no higher level of social distancing than going for a ride on your bike. If I had a bike with a plate on it you can bet your ass I would be riding it now. - Van
Would you size up to fit a techair 5? I'm looking for a spring/fall jacket when my perforated leather is a bit too chilly. Ride an 890 duke.
If the fit of the jacket is skin tight you will need to go up a size. Beyond that most are able to get the vest under a jacket that fits them well without having to make the change. - Van

Not a full on winter jacket but capable of both early and late season riding when the temps are a little to the cool side for sure. - Van

Sorry I do not see the T-SP1 jacket in the Astars catalog. They do have an SP1 Leather Jacket. If that is what you are referring to I always prefer leather to textile. - Van

No you can remove them both by using the zip pocket found in the liner under the back protector. - Van

Using gauntlet style Suzuki ones right now, looking for something a little lighter.
Maybe waterproof also.

The SPS is a waterproof jacket and the AST-1 is a heavily vented mesh so they are very different jackets. IMO both are excellent, just very different. If you want a nice hot weather jacket option to compare to take a look at the Alpinestars T SP X Superair Jacket. @@sportbiketrackgear brother I am stuck in between those two jackets! We only ride in Mumbai, India during winter and in winter the weather is22 - 25 C.. so had a doubt in which one would be value for money in terms of protection!..
