    I have an 8.25" wrist, so I really appreciate you making a list like this. It's very rare to see my concerns addressed. That being said, I do wish you could have a little more variety in the selections. Big wrist people already know that we can probably find a dive watch that will fit without a lot of issue. What I have problem finding is sports watches and dress watches that don't look like kids toys on my wrist. You didn't really cover anything like that until you were in the $8000+ range. Another thing to consider is the strap that these watches come with. I tend to avoid buying watches with a strap, because I know I'll have to replace it with a larger one. The only exception for me is a 43mm Bulova 96C141 Wilton I recently purchased that came with a longer strap. I can't tell you how happy it made me to be able to use the factory strap with a signed clasp and no extra work.

    I have a big wrist at 7 5/8" and love big watches. Having said that I still wear smaller watches for dress. I have a 37mm JLC Moon Calendar in rose gold that wears great under a cuff but for everyday I love watches that are 42 to 45mm.

    That Mido is one of my favs. Glad to see it get some love. Will you please do a new vid on GMT's? They're so underappreciated and ignored by all the watch channels. Perhaps you could include some #NoDate options? And maybe some GMT divers?
    Love your vids. Keep up the good work.

    Good stuff. Anything under 40mm looks ridiculous on my fat 8.25” wrist.
    One addition I’d make to the list: Glycine. They’ve been making 44-48mm watches for us big guys for years now. I’ve got a 48mm Combat Sub and a 15-year-old 46mm Incursore that fit my wrist well. I wouldn’t go bigger than that, but 46 or 48 works great.
    Also, I’m really hoping that new ETA true-GMT movement finds its way to Hamilton…

    I am from India. I regularly follow your channel. There is a watch company called Titan which makes watches here. They cannot be called "high end" in terms of watch collectors but the quality of workmanship is excellent. I own Rolexes, Omega, JLC. But I still do appreciate the quality of Titan. Maybe you could have a look at it.

    The Hamilton Khaki Automatic Officer is 44mm and great for my 7.75 wrist. Bonus is it has a date complication but doesn't 'squish' the numbers to fit like the smaller sizes.

    Excellent review. I actually have 5 of the watches you mentioned. I will comment on Alpina because I figure that many people aren't as familiar with this brand. I own the Alpiner 4. This piece wears well on the wrist, solid build and has a very nice finish. Great versitile watch that makes it a good daily wear.

    Yeah, definitely interested in seeing more watches over 42mm featured. Believe it or not there is an audience for those sizes of watches.
    My wrist size is like 6.75 inches, but 43- 45 is my sweet spot. I don't think wrist size neccesarily has anything to do with watch size though. It's all a matter of preference and what you're comfortable with pulling off.

    • @4120306
      @4120306 Рік тому

      True.
      Besides personal preference, I also find it fascinating how "watch enthusiasts" talk so much about the importance of brand heritage and history but then complain about the large sizes when large size IS part of the heritage/history.

    A video about larger wrists, and NOT ONCE did he mention the bracelet or strap length. One of my grail watches is the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, and I was very disappointed when I came across one and realized that it looks wonderful on my large arm, but wouldn't comfortably fit around it. The included links were not only not enough, but made the bracelet look comically large off of my wrist. LARGER WRISTS MEANS "CIRCUMFERENCE" TEDDY! What will comfortably fit an 8.5-8.75 wrist and still look normal?

    Another great video, but I still haven't decide which watch to go with since I'm right in the middle 7.3 inch wrist so basically 44mm with 50mm lug to lug feels a bit oversized and for example the Orient kamasu wears a bit to small I reckon 43mm with about 48mm lug distance would be perfect, but so far I haven't found it

    Hi Teddy, - I enjoy your videos and value your expertise. I have questions or you: I do not wear watches - only when I am out running. However, being an engineer, I am intrigued by the technology of mechanical watches. So, I am contemplating to start a modest watch collection. I m thinking to start with the IWC PILOT’S WATCH MARK XVIII HERITAGE (Titanium Case). and may be look for some older IWC pilot watches. Now here is my question: It is idiotic for me to start a watch collection given that I don't like wearing watches? I would appreciate your honest opinion. Thank you for all the great work you do.

    I liked the topic, as I have a 8" wrist, but I didn't like a lot of your choices. You seemed to get stuck on huge, unpractically thick divers watches, why not select some medium-sized cases that look good on bigger wrists? I should make it clear that I don't mind big chunky watches, I am currently saving for a Panerai.

  • @jolness1
    @jolness1 3 роки тому

    Great list. Appreciate the love for people with bigger wrists. Always loved the “Grey Side” from omega by 16mm is just a bit too thick. That’s the one place where I feel Rolex really beats on omega, I used to think it was their movements but looking at specs (especially on the 8000 series) I think it’s a deliberate choice. Even 14mm and I would have purchased the white, grey and black “Side of the Moon” variants already.
