Great video! Truly the spirit of skating - making something fun and interesting out of what you have. And as someone who's had a few hard slams over the years, I appreciate seeing Mike wearing a helmet, even when he's just goofing on flat ground.
Totally appreciate Mike V and this video. He really can make in count in all styles from the most simple “old school” tricks to others. I’m a big fan of his slasher style
I used to watch this on time Warner cable after coming out of foster care and back to my mom. Such crazy strong memories of this for me. "Break it down" Memories
Been watching your videos for years; really appreciate your insights and philosophies. I’m not a skater (though I totally love watching skateboarding), but I keep your approaches in mind between my own sports of cycling, climbing, and more recently, freestyle scooter. I have a small spot in my neighborhood that I ride at, and now I’m going to be looking at it differently, and bigger!
One of the most creative ones hands down. The uplifting message backed up by his great Style. I like modern ones, like Evan Smith but somehow I enjoy Gonz, Natas and MV more, not based on technique and stuff, just a matter of personal likings and a bit of nostalgia I Guess.
The old flat land freestyle form of skateboarding that never used any obstacles can be said to be the very basis of what we know today as the modern street style of skateboarding. Ask any real expert on the history of skateboarding or any honest professional skater. Rodney Mullen, who was originally a flat land freestyle skater was the first to bring the ollie to flat ground after being influenced by seeing how others used this technique on ramps and then added other elements to help develop the kickflip and countless other moves that are still obviously in use today.
Something outta nothing , I'm 53 years old and live in the mountains, the only place I have to skate and handprint is a giant flat granite rock outside my house. I am building a half pipe now. Good video Mike
"They say I m old school, I say I am no school"....Best skateboard quote ever.
Mike vallely makes Flatground skating look better than park skating.
This is the BEST skateboarding lesson I have ever watched on youtube.

Ole Mike was always my favorite skater when I was a kid. His style of skating anywhere was always fascinating to me.
This is the skating I do, it's fun. It's the essence of the sport, doing what you can considering your area
Thanks for sharing. Be safe and have fun!
