Schmitt Stix 2.0. I used to own a pair of his radials which were a metal core wheel in the late 80s. He came to show respect to one of his skaters he sponsored named Byron Kothe at an NSA contest in Ft Wayne Indiana. I love how he is skateboarding's resident guru for skate board tech.
Mike V is a legend in mine and so many others. Followed your dad’s career since Powell and I want to say SHUT but I’m not sure if he was down with Rodney . Anyway I grew up skating Long Island and NYC Brooklyn Banks etc. Mike is a legend and holds a spot in all east coast & West coaster skaters and world wide but to me he’s an East Coast Legend. Love ya Mike wish I got to skate with ya know ya man but anyway peace to the Vallely family your dad is forever cemented in the walls of skateboarding. A true legend I’m dying to buy a board to have it signed by such a real skateboarders skateboarder. Peace n love Mike. Mike McNabb Long Island NYC.
The boards look incredible I had no idea he made a brand I plan to buy one to support mike in the future he’s one of the people who really got me into skating and I’ve always looked up to the guy.
Every skateboarder owes their respect to Paul! He has done more for the design of skateboarding than any other... And seeing your dad and him working together is so cool! :) Best wishes from Denmark!! ;)
Glad to see Mike happy and livin a chill life. One of my fav skaters growing up. Ive been away from the scene and hadnt heard that name since the fight videos.
Stumbled upon this, I know it’s like 7 months old but still gotta say keep it up! It’s so rad that you work with your dad, he’s got a good heart and it warms mine to see you two together doing what you do. Been watching your dad skate since I was younger than you. Met him once in Montana at the tony hawk skatepark tour, he stayed until every kid that wanted an autograph had one. Maybe for some of us older kids too. Ha ha 😉 my daughter still has the board he signed for her. God bless you and your family!
Thanks for sharing your trip to PS Stix! I always loved a day in the life of videos seeing what others do for a somewhat typical day. You and your dad rip! By the way your bike was pretty dope!
Love this. I am starting a sk8 brd co. and my son wants to help. I have always been a fan of of your dad and now of you. Thanks for documenting and sharing this with us. Keep pushing.
I met Mike in like the year 2000 at a tiny YMCA skate park in west palm FL. He was super nice and chill. Intimidating because of crazy footage but hes mellow and skates exactly how he wants to. I want that blue top square nose shape!
Thank you for sharing this insight into the skateboard production business. I used to skate myself back in the 80s and I remember seeing Mike Vallely featured in the magazines of the day. I'm getting back into skating now and reliving the fun. Some things came back quickly for me but there are other aspects of skating that I'm struggling with. Actually, there's another hobby I had in the 80s and that was playing board games. And keeping with the topic of running a business, I'm designing a board game at the moment with the aim of making it available for sale one day. Though it's a tricky decision as to which option to go with regarding publishing. Self publish the game (which is an absolutely massive amount of work) or approach an established board game company with my design and concept and allow them to publish it for me and let them handle sales and distribution etc (though of course they would keep most of the profits.)
thank you mike, in my heart and mind you’ll always be a legend, i remember learning how to ollie and heelflip off your how to skate videos as a kid, big ups 🙏🏽
Hey Miss Emily, Great to see. Family run business. Was skating same time as your dad in Edison and New Brunswick late 80’s….I was a young skater hanging with Berny O ‘down and Tom Groholski …. Fun memories… I remember seeing your dad skate in Edison and I realized and learned that to go pro street skating…..we must do all tricks at top speeeeeed and hight…thanks
What a beautiful business model and presentation. Been a fan since day one. My OG copy of August 86 Thrasher hangs in my home and I ride your dad's boards till this day. Continued success to you all.
Hey... any chance you will be producing the (World Industries) Mike Vallely Circus mini deck again? I sold mine in high school (early 90s) and have regretted it ever since! Wanna have it again.
I've been hearing it pronounced all kinds of ways, including Va-lay-lee, for over a decade I'm completely shocked no one had even attempted to say it like that
this video is great but for future videos try to even out the audio. can barely hear mike and Paul mumbling, so i turn it up, then the music or other dialog or powertools come in blaring loud. keep having to turn it up n down. amazing content though and i like the (way too loud!) music about 2/3rds of the way thru
bruh WTF i was yoday years old when i learned he is Mike Vallely and not "Mike Valley" now ive never been a die hard mike V Fan but being around and in the skateboard industry both fan/skater low key ashamed
Wow, I’m sure you worked so hard on this company! Considering your dads name is what carries the brand, he probably makes all of the big decisions and pulls a majority of the weight, let’s not kid ourselves into thinking you’re some kind of “successful small business owner” because you’re riding daddy’s coattails.
Is it just me but the thumbnail to this video is littered with Masonic symbolism...The blue and red for both masonic lodges the male and female 2 pillars symbolism...the man in green in the center doing the masonic gesture, the video has a 13 and a 33 on the time stamp..I swear I see the as above so below diamond In the background with the all seeing eye but I could be wrong on that one...am I crazy or what?
