Amazing job Sam!! So stoked to see this guy I randomly met in Bali who was obsessed with video five years later directing the launch video for a canon camera. Love to see it. And I can’t wait to get my hands on this camera 👀
well thanks guys now I NEED this camera.. hahah in all seriousness this was incredible I'm feeling secondhand pride of the whole team on this one you guys really did your thing!
What an awesome video shot with an awesome camera. Can't wait to get mine. I always look fwd to what is coming next be it Apple products or in this case Canon new releases! Appreciate all the pre-work, setup to get these awesome videos and stills. thx
Seen the final product. Footage looks amazing. Props to Sam and the team. Question though, how long can it record in 8k raw (Log2) before running into heat issues? And what were the file sizes like with that codec?
Hello Saybrooker, Our Cinema support team would be happy to compare the features of the two cameras. You can reach them at 1-855-246-3367, 7 days a week, excluding holidays. The R5 Mark II can be used with RF mount cinema lenses and with EF mount cinema lenses. EF mount lenses will require a Mount Adapter EF- EOS R. Hope this information helps.
The cinema stuff is cool and all but I just care about how it gonna shoot in low light, mainly for Astrophotography. Planning on upgrading to full frame and if I did this Canon it be about $16K for everything I need. That's a hard pill to swallow not gonna lie.
sorry for all the dad jokes, I just didnt want to come across too plane

Canon now offer a cooling fan attachment for that issue. Other than that I do not know.
3:43 I thought that was masked in post....holy that's great timing!!!
That was awesome 👏🏻
Is this a better choice for video over the Canon EOS R5 C? Can it utilize Cinema lenses?

I just read that there is no IBIS at 8K. Can that be true?
Epic.
Very nice 👍
Nice job Sam.
Wow, nice canon
They really should have made this the R1 and the actual R1 the R3 Mkii...

And the cooling fan is not necessary…..
We'll find out soon enough lol
