Thanks so much! You're too kind
I have been finger drumming the same way as this dude for the last 3 years. It is the most comfortable layout. Cheers man. This guy seems pretty humble! 😊

Dope video Kit! I have tried here and there, but never had the patience because I just wanted to jump in and make a beat, but this is definitely helpful for a liveset! Much appreciated my friend!!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
Thanks heaps bro! Yeah it really took me a while to get into it but as soon as I could play some stuff in faster than I could program it that really changed everything for me
Honest, good and skilled video. After seeing your video i learned a lot and see it from a different point a view. Like your style of drumming!

So nice of you to share some of your tips!
Thank you! I’m glad they were helpful
Thank you.
Light bulb moment!
I've been to Quest for groove on UA-cam and will no doubt be going back, however, the algorithm brought me here this lunchtime and I'm so glad it did.
I've seen some phenomenal playing online such as you show in brief. It's phenomenal stuff but I am not interested in being a specialist. I've been managing (since the birth of midi really🤣) with quantize, step mode and a very poor technique in any instrument but I really want to be able to put down something a bit more varied since plodding through anything with a real groove takes me forever.
Just getting beyond the idea that one hand will do one thing and the other do something else might seem to you like nothing at all but to me it's like the difference between one finger typing on this tablet compared to my (more or less) competent typing on a conventional qwerty keyboard.
I think a personal style is very important and your comments about finding ways to do other things by picking up what you need for your own groove is central to the thinking I always followed.
I'm so glad you found the video helpful! Personally I've always struggled with learning music, it feels like it takes me a lot longer than others. But I've managed to keep on keeping on by making sure I always had fun with it. Even to the point of getting my bachelor of music without being able to play any instruments (something that a lot of people find hard to believe). So as long as you're enjoying the journey, take whatever path works for you
thanks for the getting starting tips! i appreciate you!
Of course! Glad you found it helpful 🙏
Thanks for dropping a few names, definately will check them out

Dude, this was awesome. I'm on day 3 of finger drumming using launchpad mini and this helped so much! Thanks!
Glad it helped! Hope you have fun on your journey 😄
Very solid video, I was looking for something about akai mpd, and randomly found about this video, so yeah! cool stuff!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! 🙏
Muy bueno! Gracias
Muchas gracias!
hey and what about Spinscott? he is incredible!
Yeah for sure, he's dope!
Thanks so much!
🙏🙏🙏
Great video, thank you.
Glad you liked it! 🙏
I dont use maschine but I feel you on the whole “relearning how to play to use default kit layouts more efficiently” thing
It's a hassle but in the long run it makes things a lot more streamlined
great video. thank you
Thank you, hope it was helpful :)
You should check out the Xpresspads method too. Very interesting, and very flexible.
Will do, cheers!
Fantastic video. thanks!
Thank you too!
Really though, I think the superior format’s gotta be piano keys,
I miss the rompler days where you could get some pretty good sounds in keyboard drumming.
I think it would be great if there were drum machines that just had a regular keyboard lol
I wouldn't say any format is better than another. Different but not better, if you know what I mean. But I do get what you mean too. I like the Launchpad x for having more and smaller pads (a bit more keyboard like), and if you're looking for a keyboard the MPC Keys look really cool. At the end of the day the 4x4 pad layout is still what I gravitate towards, and I believe the Maschine has the best pads on the market so I'm happy to stick with it
Nice video! David Haynes is really good. Finger drumming is tuff.
Cheers man! Yeah Haynes is amazing
thank you
🙏🙏🙏
Hey man, dope video!✌✌
Hey, thanks bro!
Thank's 😎🙏
You're welcome 😊
Awesome video
Thank you!
thanx man !
No worries! Thank you!

Very cool video for a former drummer like me !
Thanks! Glad to hear it :)
Thanks
🙏
Good man
Cheers!
Ever seen “spinScott”, he’s quick
Someone just mentioned him the other day. But yeah I have seen his stuff before, heaps good!
Awesome! It's a long due as I asked this tutorial in your Koala Sampler vid ;)
Haha yeah my bad :) I hope it was helpful
Great video thanks mate. I’m so new like today new haha what’s this kit called you’re using & is it the one you started on?
Hey cheers man! So I'm not sure what this kit is (sorry it's been a while since I made this video). But when I started I just had the stock Maschine library which is really good. I actually just used those stock sounds for quite a while. Hope you have fun on your journey and def let me know if you have any questions :)
@@TheKitComplete legend thanks bro love your work
Step 1. Have rhythm.
😜
Step 2. Have fun.
good video, i cant my other hand to play of the offbeat, just wont do it
Just takes time and practice. I'd probably recommend trying to simplify it. Just tapping your hands on a table or something, alternate between right and left (left hitting off beats). Gradually tap more complex patterns. Getting started can often be the hardest part but stick with it and I'm sure you'll see improvement
❤️❤️
🙏🙏🙏
How can I change the positions of the sounds in the pads? In maschine software, "I couldn't find it within the maschine software."
In the Maschine software you can just use your mouse to drag and drop sounds to move them to different pads
@@TheKitComplete Is it working with drumkits too, because when I select a drumkit, samples are always in the same pad.
Hey question can I use my maschine mk3 with my maschine Mikro mk3 for more drum pads combine both together ;) is this possible
Yeah definitely. You should check out some of the old Jeremy Ellis videos where he does just that
👍👍
🙏🙏
❤ supr ROCKIN ❤🎉🎉😊
Cheers! 🙏
So are you telling me you can’t make a preset on the machine of where you want your snare and hi hat and then load any kit to that layout ?
Nah, I don't think it's really possible on any drum machine/groovebox. Not as far as I'm aware
@@TheKitComplete wtf this seems like an essential and obvious feature
Yeah would be nice
Yo, this rips man, needa go practice
Cheers mate! Thanks heaps
Is their any finger drum machine that can plug directly to a drum amp? Without messing about with a computer?
Yeah so there is the Maschine Plus (bit.ly/2GUM8Gl) along with a few products from the MPC line. These are standalone products so you can use them without a computer, just plugging them into some speakers or headphones. Other than that you'll have to look at products that are meant to be used with drum sticks. Hope that helps
Don’t sleep on spinscott
Oh yeah I've seen his stuff before, super dope!
Step one made me laugh so hard
😜
What machine is being used ?
It's the Maschine Mk3 from Native Instruments. You can find it here bit.ly/3mhvG3g
@@TheKitComplete is this what Fred again uses, I thought he was on a MPC model ?
@@ktownc936 Yeah he uses the Maschine Plus but essentially they are the same thing
Can I record it
Not sure what you mean, sorry
I mean can I record it on Ableton ?
4:51 😏
👍
Unrelated to the video but I wish somebody makes a drumpad with real highend, pads, really good sensitivity and so on, but with no internal samples or useless drum kits or loops that nobody will be using but only add to the cost.
That would give us a really good pad for working with those drum VSTs, but cheaper since they wouldn't have to pay professional sound people to make those useless and unmusical loops and kits to go into it.
There are MIDI keyboards like that so why not drumpads? Or even a full on MIDI electronic drumset?
If there are any drumpads or kits like that, somebody please drop the knowledge bomb on me.
Or if there are none like that and if you are someone associated with any of those drumpad or electronic drum kits manufacturers, please consider suggesting the idea to your company.
Thank you.
So there is the Akai MPD line, they have pretty good pads and are very affordable. Also you could have a look at the Alesis Samplepad and Samplepad Pro, they do come with internal sounds but are still fairly cheap. There a quite a few options out there, I would suggest looking at a music equipment website like Guitar Center (even if you don't buy from them) and just scrolling through the options they have. Hope that helps
@@TheKitComplete
Yeah I'm familiar with them. But I've heard a lot of bad things about Akai's pads and the drumpad has a lot of sounds built into it, so it can be way cheaper without those sounds.
You can load samples into the pad anyway so. .
It will be best if it has the highest quality pad, sensitivity and build quality without anything else adding to the price.
So I don't think the Akai pads are as good as the Maschine pads but they are still very good. Definitely good enough.
With the Alesis stuff I don't think the internal sounds would make much (or any) difference to the price. You are really paying for the hardware rather than the sounds.
But let me know if you find anything you really like so I can check it out
The thing is - those samples/drum kits/loops really dont add to the cost
@@MilanFourTimesEight
Really? In the digital keyboard or piano world, what makes up a big portion of the price is the internal sounds. Of course all the functions knobs, sliders the quality of the keys, the materials used do contribute, but the biggest selling point is the internal sounds.
Of course I could be wrong, but as far as I know, that is the case with the keys so...
04:51 Can you play the PornHub theme? Kit Complete: I got you.
😂 just needs the bass!
This guy is as likable as his cousin Jeremy Renner
thank you ?...
@@TheKitComplete That was a boomerang compliment. It hits you in the face with one compliment and circles back to catch you with another one in the back of the head.
Jeremy Renner is a good looking guy and widely regarded to be one of the nicest people in Hollywood. You should have thanked me twice.
@@WOLFBRONSKY well thank you.. hnf.. and thank you again :}
Amazing video. Thank you
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
