  • One of the last remaining 'Pearly Kings' who was the inspiration behind Del Boy is fighting to keep the Cockney tradition alive - saying there are only around 12 left.
George Major, 86, who was crowned The Pearly King of Peckham more than 65 years ago, said there were once more than 400 like him.
But he says he is now only one of around a dozen left carrying the torch.

Some of us keep the spirit alive even after leaving the smoke, I live right in the middle of where they shot A touch of glass episode, my main driver is a dirty yellow 3 wheel van, am an unabashed Millwall supporter and whilst chasing sixty now I am quite quiet but back in the day I was very much a wheeler dealer flogging cheap motor's around the Downham area and always coming up with new wheezes that me and me oppo would try and fail on.

Is this the chap in the title sequence seen at a pub bar in top hat and tails? Looks very similar.
