@Jam May I ask your age? My Son is 28 and was born with a rare mast cell condition. He basically outgrew it when he reached puberty, but we don’t know the long term effects. I had taken numerous vaccines a year prior to getting pregnant, when joining the Navy at the beginning of the Gulf War. I have always wondered if it had something to do with his condition. Was either of your parents or you in the military during that time?
@@simplepleasuresfarm3386 Hi there! I'm 26. And it seems like your son has another form maybe? Because the one that I have is kinda a 'side effect' of the EDS. So my EDS causes this, and POTS, and the ostomy's and surgery's etc. My parents weren't in the military or anything. But my condition (EDS) is a genetic one, my mom figured out last year she has it too. Do you or your son have hypermobility maybe?
@Jam Thanks for taking the time to reply. I wish you much success in your upcoming surgery. Sounds like so much to be going thru at such a young age. Hang in there.
Dr. Dray, you are looking beautiful as always! I am trying to grow out my hair and have setbacks due to a condition I have called trichotillomania (I pull my hair out). I have been using function of beauty shampoo and conditioner daily because of your recommendation! My hair has never been healthier and I love the fragance and dye free options. Most shampoos have caused me to get a contact dermatitis on my scalp, usually the ones with very drying surfactants or heavily fraganced ones. I am loving your long hair. You are such a pretty woman and are so no BS and no nonsense, you use what works and nothing you don't need. Have a good weekend ♥️😍🥰
I just bought the Target version after watching your video from a few days ago. I bought the curly hair base and the curl definition booster. Tomorrow is shampoo day. I'm excited to try this! I prefer unscented, as well but this isn't too obnoxious. Thanks for the recommendation.
I love Miss Jackie.... Family Dollar only $5. Sally's $7-9. I have wavy, curly low porosity hair. I love this stuff. There's a leave in conditioner. There's also a conditioner. Then there's flax gel... Use it and scrunch. All $5 at family dollar. Best I've found.
Hey Dr Dray :) when applying moisturizer after the shower to damp skin, do you have to wait until it has completely dried/absorbed before putting PJs on? For me it takes a good 25 mins for the moisturizer and my skin to dry and I am usually freezing after the shower. Does the moisturizer get absorbed by the PJs if I put it on earlier?
I have been doing this for a year and in my experience, this is my routine: FIRST - get out the face and body moisturizer you are going to use today and unscrew any lids prior but keep it on (I prefer pump but not all of them have that option) this will prevent slippery wet issues later, haha...and put out turban towel on the side by the tub/shower. ...shower... Then, I squeeze excess water from my hair and grab the turban, wrap it around my hair...I then swipe a hand over my skin while standing in the shower 'squeegeeing' off the excess drip, then step onto bamboo mat, I wipe the excess water drip off my face, pat my hands dry enough to apply skincare on my face using the turban on my head *pat pat pat* ...at this point my body is still damp but not wet, I apply my moisurizer... THEN I floss and brush my teeth, wipe down the counter put things away and by that time I am dry enough for PJs :D ...a ridiculously detailed step by step, but a tried and true method that works for me...hope this gave you an idea of a routine without a towel.
@@DinkyPixie wow, thank you so much for your reply! I tried it today with wiping off excess water in the shower and it already helped. As I live in Northern Europe it is getting cold. I hope the heating will be on in September and then I will just heat up my bathroom :)
Agree on the no towel thing. I started when my Eczema started flaring up, after decades of few issues. I put on Lotion after my shower, so a towel would just wipe it off.
I'm going to start doing body moisturising, and that kind of entails no towel-usage. I'd have a shower, turn the water off, use towel (or, hand towel now) to pat excess water from hair. Drip dry for a it, use hands to wipe water away. Moisturiser while still inside the warm shower (keep moisturiser in there), and THEN open the shower door. Do face skincare routine while body finishes drying. The main issue is the initial coldness when the water gets turned off. The solution there is to not open the shower door yet. Getting out while still damp, is going to be cold as shit, so, get a heater going before the shower. I have a stupid ceiling exhaust fan that must be on while the light is on, which fucks it all up. I think I'm going to use a lamp, and then turn the light/ceiling exhaust fan on when I get out. Then the room will be steamy and warm. Can also blast hot water at the end of the shower (not on to skin). The other way to go about it would be to just have a wash cloth, and lightly pat the body semi-dry to speed things along, and then be less wet when stepping out of the shower. The steam should keep the skin still suitable for moisturiser application. See how it goes. Edit: I saw how it went. I now use a hand towel instead of a bath sheet. I need something to get the excess water off, otherwise the drops stay on me forever. Also it gets cold even in the shower with the water off,, so I don't want to drip dry forever. Nice not having a giant towel anymore. Takes up so much space on the line to have 3 bath sheets drying.
Dr. Dray, how’s the wallpaper in your closet? I miss the closet tours. I remember your minimalist wardrobe for work. But your style and quantity of prices has increased! Maybe a declutter video for fun? :)
I went no towel when all my towels were in the laundry bin and out of necessity, and discovered I liked it better. I think using a towel triggers the itchies for me. (I use scent/dye free detergent and softener, and very little softener in towel loads.)

@@simplepleasuresfarm3386 Aww, thank you! I wish you the best too😘
I have silicone lids for my pots that I got from IKEA-I keep them in a small basket in the cabinet.
I agree, lightbulb shopping is the "worst."
I have been doing this for a year and in my experience, this is my routine:
FIRST - get out the face and body moisturizer you are going to use today and unscrew any lids prior but keep it on (I prefer pump but not all of them have that option) this will prevent slippery wet issues later, haha...and put out turban towel on the side by the tub/shower.
...shower...
Then, I squeeze excess water from my hair and grab the turban, wrap it around my hair...I then swipe a hand over my skin while standing in the shower 'squeegeeing' off the excess drip, then step onto bamboo mat, I wipe the excess water drip off my face, pat my hands dry enough to apply skincare on my face using the turban on my head *pat pat pat*
...at this point my body is still damp but not wet, I apply my moisurizer...
THEN I floss and brush my teeth, wipe down the counter put things away and by that time I am dry enough for PJs :D
...a ridiculously detailed step by step, but a tried and true method that works for me...hope this gave you an idea of a routine without a towel.
@@DinkyPixie wow, thank you so much for your reply! I tried it today with wiping off excess water in the shower and it already helped. As I live in Northern Europe it is getting cold. I hope the heating will be on in September and then I will just heat up my bathroom :)
Doctor Rapunzel, doctor Rapunzel, let your hair down! It is so beautiful! Also love the color!💖💖
"Oh, I'm wearing my heart pjs" - you're so cute 😄♥️
Putting on moisturizer on an undried, wet face always runs the moisturizer into my eyes. I have to pat dry and then quickly add the moisturizer.
"I'm not one of those people who is like Fall, Fall, Fall" - cut to a plethora of Fall related candles in the near future :P
Thanks for sharing the no towel tip! I'll try it.
Hi Dr Dray! Have you ever thought of donating some of your gorgeous hair (not all your hair) to Locks of Love?
Agree on the no towel thing. I started when my Eczema started flaring up, after decades of few issues. I put on Lotion after my shower, so a towel would just wipe it off.
Have a great weekend!!
Same to you

What is the deal with the shampoo? Do we really need to wash, rinse and repeat? I don't. Love this video.
Love cashews , they've been used in South East Asian dishes . A lot of them are vegetarian and vegan too . Love your content ♥️
Great vlog💙 thanks for sharing.
BTW your hair is beautiful and it looks better out 💯

Omg your hair is GOALS
Happy Saturday! I’m on a weekend trip in Houston, and I think to myself “ I hope I bump into Dr. Dray!”
Stay cool …it is hot today
Houston is pretty big though lol! Have a good trip!
"Stay cool" if you see Dr Dray too! 😉
👱♀️❤
Good luck. I live in Houston and have never bumped into her.
I agree. But, I still need to use a towel to dry my back and well, you know, downunder parts 😉
No towels....I'm confused 😶 what about folds of skin? Shouldn't they be " dried" well?
I love your hair long or short you can pull off both looks!!! :)))) hope mama Dray is doing well, happy Saturday!!!
Thank you!!
Dr. Dray, how’s the wallpaper in your closet? I miss the closet tours. I remember your minimalist wardrobe for work. But your style and quantity of prices has increased! Maybe a declutter video for fun? :)
Lil musical breaks are becoming my fave. 😂
Big yes to the small carts, Function of Beauty haircare, and no towels...hundo p with ya Dr Dray
I don't always use a bath towel for the same reasons. I sometimes moisturize in the shower after the water drips off.
I went no towel when all my towels were in the laundry bin and out of necessity, and discovered I liked it better. I think using a towel triggers the itchies for me. (I use scent/dye free detergent and softener, and very little softener in towel loads.)
Dr. Drey practices what she she preaches...respect 👍
Could you make a video on sea moss and skin would be real interesting hearing your take on it
If you have a fb theres so many Texas gardening groups that you can join. So much good info and plant inspiration!
I haven't used a towel on my face in 2 years and my skin see a HUGE improvement. And of course I do the religious moisturizer on damp face. 😊
