Awesome video!! Love that duster is getting the exposure they deserve lately.
For real, they've been so under appreciated up until now
valid
@@josh_twig2380 bruh what they been popular since forever
yeah.. they're kinda underground, you've probably never heard of them before.
@@bruisedbugthey were for nearly 2 decades bro
You literally nailed the whole thing, especially the guitar sounds.
brotha kebab great to see you hear 🙏
@@797manky thank you fellow kebaber💪💪💯💯
Hey Ali!
@@declanwarner4835 yooooo Declan, what’s good my g?💪💪💯💯
i love kebab
LOVE UR CONTENT SM PLS DO ALEX GGGG
Tomorrow
you should post this on SoundCloud :)
I had a Duster obsession and messed around on Audacity to imitate them during early bits of pandemic, and you've made me want to do it again! Guitar parts are spot on. Some other guitar techniques add are using open strings, picking arpeggios, using in drop D tuning, and really patient (slow) changes between chords.
Meow
Holy moly 😱
Great video. Can you do more tutorials on psychedelic rock without guitars so people without the equipment can also do it ?
yes please . would be cool to see these type of songs being done in midi
^
psychedelic rock without guitars… well thats gonna be difficult ‚:D
@@lofilukelukoala8121 Keane but with weird flangers, chorus and reverbs
@@lofilukelukoala8121 what about vst guitars?
this artist is nothing like duster, but can you do a tutorial on mid-air thief? it's my favorite artist right now but i'm having issues making music like it. thanks!
omg yes
Never heard of this band before this video. Now I want to listen to everything they’ve made.
check out helvetia too its a solo project by one of the members of duster
@@gianniparent7513 and eiafuawn. and valium aggelein. and calm. everything duster is good
@@abcxyz-pd8ux and parton kooper planetarium. and mohinder. and two boys alright. and el buzzard. i think that's all of them.
And if you like the sound unrecovery
1. Delete fl studio
2. Buy a 4 track
you seriously nailed the guitar tone, awesome work dude
pls pls drop the full song LOL
If you could do something like this for Alex g I’d be forever in your debt
I love Alex G! Definitely next video
I really like your style and your voice. You do love Duster's music, and it shows you have a real passion and talent for this. Your attempts to encapsulate more the 'tone' and 'feeling' of Duster as a whole rather than simply trying to make a carbon-copy; what you created has a real warmth and level of care in every stem while staying true to that slowcore Duster identity.
legitimately all you need is a 4 track tape recorder and a shitty built in mic for the vocals + drums
Dude, your channel is absolutely what I needed. Thanks for great tutorial videos, keep it up ! Would you try something for sort of shoegaze, like slowdive?
Hey man, I just wanted to comment and let you know that this video was amazing. I have once again been recommended a fantastic music production video, your explanation of the band’s music and the vibe/sound they typically had, you showing us your DAW and explaining techniques and plugins you’ve used to create certain sounds. It truly does blow my mind and impress how fond you are on music production and creating the same exact vibe that you described the band having. (And also learning a lot, probably might revisit this video soon 😊)
Keep up the good work man, I’m not a huge Indie Rock fan (didn’t even now Slowcore was a thing 😅). But I’ve been listening to the genre a lot more recently this year. So it’s cool to see some music production video based on this genre. You got yourself a new Subscriber, God Speed to ya! 😌😇
nice beat! there are bugs crawling under my skin
my god your voice is so soothing
Never heard of Duster until now
Sounds great! Thanks for the upload
this video just appeared and i don't even knew this band existed but I immediately opened fl studio and follow your steps, I love the song i'm making, i felt stuck for a long time but your video saved me, thx a lot bro
I play a lot of stuff similar to duster, but I was glad you made a video on it. Then I found your drum samples link!! Huge help for someone like me who's always looking for real drums!
Duster? I barely know her!
great tutorial as always! really love the finished product aswell.
Duster deserve the fame they are getting but the people definitely don't deserve duster
Those guitar sounds are spot on! Hope that you’ll continue to make more “how to” videos, because this one is great
heyy - great video!!
would love to hear more talk about your melodic/scale choices as i believe in the end thats what gives lots of the magic
thanksss
For the harmonics your using, we’d actually call those “natural harmonics.” Great video though! Very informative.
Any ideas about vocal effects?
im not 100% sure but id say EQ the high's and low's so you are just left with the mids, add a bit of delay and reverb and then maybe some flanger. most of it is just trying different effects and seeing what works for you
Compressor, convolver, maybe a tremolo sometime
hey nice vid i post music stuff too haha
your vids are nice i love whirr
nice to see christmas dust get some recognition
Its so good
thank you, thank you so fucking much. i now have p u r p o s e lmao
r e a l
it's cool seeing duster get more love honestly
I want to do this but i dont have any instruments. What can i do? theres like an guitar simulator app or something like that?
I think people really exaggerate how low fidelity duster actually is.
Name of the song at the end
There’s like a half a second delay from when I play guitar into fl does anyone know how to fix. Maybe it’s cuz I’m plugging my guitar directly into my pc with no audio interface
Love you tutorials man, hope you post more!!
May I ask Where can I get guitar loops or How I can make these in Fl studio? I have been having Trouble to get a Guitar online to create these and I cannot find anything online to do it. and I also do not have a guitar Irl. I really need help to move forward in my music production, help would be very appreciated. Thank you.
I like that you emulated the static of tape lol.
This video convinced me that I should learn how to play the guitar.
I love how this video feels like a vhs your teachers show you on a rolling tv
you should release this instrumental i could listen to it forever 😭
*low earth orbit
Bro!! Im Finishing my First slowcore song and was looking for a video like yours. I already use cymatics origin so this was a pleasant surprise ❤ thanks
i was wondering why there were barely any youtube videos about slowcore lol
Because it’s not a very popular genre, at least in a mainstream sense
thanks bro you literally made my entire channel
Dude one of your videos has popped up on my recommended before, your voice is great!
@@PumDux aw thanks bro!!
You should definitly release this as full instrumental, I would love to make a song out of it
Watching this on 144p for immersion
Great content man! Any idea how to reduce latency while not changing audio drivers? When I tried to do it on my computer it ended up making all of my samples sound really stretched no matter what I did, even when I reverted the audio drivers and latency length back to normal.
that's a masterpiece
This is fucking amazing bruv keep it up
This video made me buy and start learning how to play a guitar.
Holy crap, you nailed it 💕
this is awesome and it really helped me with nailing the sound, the only thing I would add is a little bit more bass son it doesn't sound so thin, but other than that, great tutorial
this is just perfect for my duster-inspired project. thank you so much
I'm subscribing right now, I loved it. gracias!!!!
I think all that's left would be to record it to cassette on a cheap deck or use a vst. The tape flutter from being recorded on a 4 track is a major part of their sound.
But can you recreate that noise in darby?
i knew it was only a matter of time before a vid like this existed
this channel + series is a fucking lifesaver. Thank you
Shoutout razerg beats
I really appreciate this video, thank you
Sounds perfect, a lot like dusters earlier days
the duster music link brought me to a 404 not found page?
Just search up "duster band" on any platform really
this legitimately sounds like a new duster song. great job, man! keep going, wish you luck
This is dope. Good job on matching that vibe. Would love to see how to slowdive.
What was the first song on the video
you got this so spot on holy
PLEASE NEVER DELEET
You should do Elliott smith
0:06 where is this footy from?
damm bro, this sum good shi
duuude, thank you so much for making such a wonderful video. idk if its ur style of talking or how u described things, but it made me a different kind of happy.
i’ve been waiting for something like this! thank you thank you thank you ❤❤❤❤
this is very duster
Man i love you
I love you
yuh this fire
Awesome video, been waiting for a long time on this topic.
Coooool
This sounds so good! I'm very curious to how you recorded the guitars, I'm not sure how to get this lofi sound.
Put the mic in front of the amp and boom there you go
I don’t record from my amp, I use a Focusrite Scarlett then add effects to it
@@razergbeats6598what effects do u. use?
I love this
2:20 we must let the clamp do what the clamp does best
i know you’re coming home henry, just tell me when
Okay this is really fucking throwing me off but I swear the audio plays before the playback line
Hey man, I loved this whole video and was wondering what the song in the outro is called because I recognized it as The Mood from their new album but you released this before they released Remote Echoes so was it a previously unreleased track? They had done the same thing where one of the "unreleased tracks" in Remote Echoes was Haunt My Sleep from Capsule Loosing Contact. Thank you! And I again loved this video and the song you made
The outro song is the song I made, it’s the finished product on how to duster
Sorry, I meant the song that starts at 6:31 ?@@razergbeats6598
@@bluu3245my bad for taking forever to answer, it’s on their project christmas dust, i believe it’s the second track on the record

my runner my runner
you forgot the roland space echo !
Thanks for this! Now I want to make music like this and listen to some Duster! It seems like even a slightly out of tune guitar would help with the sound!
Not trying to shit on you or what you're doing but I think the whole idea behind art is to use the tools that you're given with and use them to your best efforts. A lot of artists have renowned styles because of that reason. Not that using digital software or computers is wrong, but using them to replicate those cheap analog sounds just comes off as un-authentic. That's just my opinion though. Nice video...
I agree to an extent, but getting the best sound quality possible and using something to your best efforts don't entirely align
lol what? Says who? The whole idea behind art is to make whatever the fuck you want, and the more tools and techniques you have the better. You're just holding onto an idea of what you think something is. People use the same dumb argument about music theory to avoid learning it.
@@Magic_carpet666 I don't think trying to achieve a sound or timbre through any tools or techniques is wrong though. My issue is people spending thousands of dollars on old analog equipment to sound like Mac demarco.
True using high end software/gear to make music that sounds like it’s lofi /analog is pretty redundant. Especially considering you could make your music authentically lofi and analog by yourself pretty easily
@@castro9511 Yeah I get that, maybe I came on a bit strong. As an audio engineer, nothing wrong with spending thousands into analog gear though, as long as you know what you're doing. But judging from the comments here and even the creator's walkthrough (it's very basic producing stuff) most don't.
dusters my favorite thank u
i love you
i ❤ur pfp
amazing video!! am definitely gonna check out your music!!
Love the video keep it up man, and also can you try Vacations?
if i didn't know this was a tutorial i would actually think this would've been an unreleased duster song
How to VACATIONS please 😍
This is the greatest thing ever
