- Yo 👋🏽
This free plugin suite by Andrew Reeman allows for some really unique spectral sound design. I dont think you can find many plugins like these, especially not for free.

At 2:08 i got that wrong, the gate tilt is like a filter, so itll effect higher or lower frequencies more depending on the value
Don't forget you can change the FFT size, higher size is analogous to higher resolution - however it doesn't mean lower values can't yield interesting results, experiment y'all!
yeah i completely forgot to mention that 🤦♂️
Ay, what a fantastic video! Thanks for the shout out ❤
I've had the most fun with morph by just making some really creepy layers for pads and stuff like that. Definitely takes some fiddling with, but it gives some pretty unique results.
Also, don't forget to play with the FFT sizes! The higher values generally give a softer blurry kinda sound, and the lower values are a lot more tighter but less frequency resolution, which is sometimes cooler for drums etc.
BTW, the outro track fricken slaps
I completely forgot to mention FFT sizes! It be like that some times. Also thanks for the complements, been watching your channel for a couple of months now and I find your videos quite entertaining
@@CyberBlitzMusic That's awesome to hear! Just subbed too, excited to see/hear whatever you make in the future!
😱🔥
The sine-shaped filter sounds like Harmor's prism module. It creates notches in the frequencies like what a flanger does, but in a way that yields a metallic tone.
These things are so slept on, found them a long time ago when i was looking for pitchmap alternatives!
this is truly inspiring to me, I am completely new to sound design and music in general, after seeing this I cannot wait to have fun with these plugins! thank you sm for covering these plugins
Great video and demonstrations!! The plugins are dope!
btw that song in the outro is sick!
As a harmor user, I've always wanted a way to use the additive sound design aspects of it as an effect and this is really scratching that itch. Thank you so much for the share!
Spectral effects are one to use more often than you think. Absolutely love these
Thank you for your video, gj !
This is crazyyyyy :O
damn how is a video this well made getting so little recognition??? Im def subscribing, good job man!
So cool!
on top of the function of being some sort of audio degration tool I also like to use the spectral gate to simply remove noisy parts of the signal. Cleaning up background elements like that can make space for the other elements sometimes and just give the overall impression of a less busy mix. when you have enough stuff around it doesn't even sound 'lossy'
i definitely hadnt thought of using it like that before, ill have to try that
ReaFir is also free and does the same FFT-based frequency gate thing. It also lets you control the threshold of different parts of the spectrum independentyly.
It can also do frequency compression, like a sort of half-baked Soothe.
It also can just be a free, reliable linear phase EQ.
yo wow this is insane, can't believe this is actually free
I cant wait to use this for my weird electronic jazz 🙏
Phat, I'm going to try to compile these tonight for my Linux box
Yo crazy find!
It could be a superb with bitwig modulators!
Great video. Though that I would nerd out a bit and explain in simple terms what FFT does. FFT (Fast Fourier transform) is a fast way to do Fourier transform...which by itself means a way to break down frequency wave to the set of sine waves that add up to it. This is the most important part of any DAW - without this algorithm, there is no modern music. Storing a frequency is simple for very simple sounds. You just need to store in a list what the frequency is for any given time unit. Modern sounds however can have hundreds or thousands of those values, making it very impractical to interact with directly. However, storing the values that make up a sine wave (frequency=phase * sin(amplitude * time) is much simpler, and it also lets us easily manipulate those values. So instead of storing a complex frequency wave directly, we store a collection of all the sine waves that make it up, and we use FFT to figure out what those sine waves are.
This is by the way also what MP3 or any other format does. It uses FFT to break down sounds into sine waves, and when you need to play them, they are being added to create the desired sound.
hard
Holy W
Thanks! Now I know what all these plugins that I already use actually do lol
bruh 💀
Spectral Gate would be perfect for making vocals sound like they're coming from a cell phone.
I will use it for carpenter brut.
I also noticed my synthwave skin for Vital is being used.
Fire skin btw
@@CyberBlitzMusic Thank you. It was difficult but fun to make. I do plan on making more Vital skins in the future.
ayyy, pitchmap colours
amazing plugin fr
Shit i was trying to do this from scratch in Reaktor, thank god for these plugins because my brain is still hurting from FFT.
great free plugins, just wish they wouldn't consistently crash my daws
Can you make a video on how to download the suite?
gonna gatekeep these so hard
spectrals are not detected in my FL can't find anything about it :/
thats unfortunate, should be like any other vst
These only work for abelton?
they should work just fine in every DAW with vst support
@@CyberBlitzMusic ahh sweet, cheers
They crash Ableton on the Mac!
You might have to turn the FFT size down. I think something else like this is addressed in Naircol's video at 19:18. Other than that, i couldnt guess why thats happening. Good luck with it though!
Let's not forget about gorgeous Soundmagic Spectral by Michael Norris, works perfect on mac and also free 😊
