I can't wait for him reacting to the Girl Gone Wild vid 🌚
We're so close to MDNA!! HELL YEAH!! it will be goooood
Mmm not a fan of that one neither
MDNA is... just no
Mdna was 🤮
@@MarvinGuatemalanBoy sad it’s a great video. 👀
You’re not wrong. This era
For a lot of fans was … questionable. BUT she does the songs Justice in the “Sticky & Sweet” tour. Be sure to check that out.
A lot of fans were judgmental, pissy twats over this era. Madonna can't make bad music if she tried.
This man is too gorgeous
True 😏
Skin like butter! 🙂
Fun song! Great bop! Entertaining music video that was played on the big screens at the clubs. Many Madonna fans just enjoy seeing her dance around looking sexy and beautiful! Not meant to shed light on the true meaning of life. Easy peasey simple! Thanks for the reaction Taylor!
✌🏻🙂✌🏻
C'mon, just admit that she was lazy. This video was shot during a photoshoot.
@@oliverjesu5 Basically, it's for the single cover so
@@oliverjesu5 Yes, this was the time when Madonna's videos got very lazy. She was obviously very uninterested in promoting "Hard Candy". She was much more interested on the tour.
@@oliverjesu5 Why would I do that? I stand by my original post. ✌🏻
Yea! I love when she does this type of clip, I love photoshoots, and I love when she turns a photoshoot into a clip! 😍the videos for Hollywood, Girl Gone Wild, living for love were in that style, and I love them all.
During the recording sessions Madonna joked about Pharrell carrying this giant purple bag all the time. stuff like this only madonna hard-core fans know.
The truth is that this was her last album under a saturated deal and she couldn't care less. She was also touring around the world with the massive Sticky and Sweet Tour and I don't think they were aiming perfection with the album's promotion outside of the tour.
This is your opinion and not fact
@@yussepig6629 no, this is a fact, everybody who went through this era knows this
@@greaterlordkusanali True
@@greaterlordkusanaliExactly. This is the moment when Madonna stopped worrying about selling records and promoting singles, and instead began to focus all her ideas and energies solely on her tours.
What a way to squander your legacy though. Nobody has taken her seriously since Confessions.
Just seeing Madonna parading in a sexy outfit in an editorial-style video is worth it for me! 😀 Her videos don't always have to be deep, etc.
Agreed. But sometimes, let other people have different likings.
@@quanashiab.9620 Not sure I get what you're saying, but I sure hope people have their own opinions. More power to them! It's all good, imv. 😊
it's all about being light and not so serious. don't take it so serious. she can let her hair down once in a while and just have fun.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
he make reaction video...not YOUR reaction video. Go somewhere else if u don,t get along
@@pouetpouetdaddy5 I enjoy his videos. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to comment on his reaction. Geez what was i thinking ?I think he mentioned somewhere in his video asking what we thought as a viewer. Please get a steppin and F off.
Everything about Give It 2 Me is perfect!
This song was a HUGE hit in Europe peaking #02 on European Hot 100 and being #30 Year End Song of 2008 in Europe.
It was #01 in Turkey, Spain, Netherlands, Hungary and Venezuela.
MDNA is her divorce album Part 2, after Hard Candy. And the track I love most is on DeLuxe Edition Disc 2 haha. Check it out, it’s entitled “I Fucked Up”.
Hard Candy is not a divorce album. her two divorce albums are Like a Prayer and MDNA
@@AlexeBriand2002I thought Like A Prayer was also about her parents?
I love the Hard Candy Era.
La mejor manera de "disfrutar" esta era es con el Tour.
It's actually Pharrell's bag😅
She thought it's cute he's carrying it everywhere after him so she said he should add that. As a kid I always assumed it's him carrying her stuff I cant figure it since it came out either.
She was so focused in "saving her marriage" or filling papers for what was yet to come in the fall, her divorce AND working on the huge production, videos choreos, etc for the sticky and sweet tour that began that summer leaving no time and money for the videos...I feel you man 😒
2008 love it! Memoirs ❤
This video was simply a behind the scenes to the photoshoot she had done with photographer Tom Munro, she wasn't aiming at anything but that.
I'd recommend alcohol with MDNA! Cause it really is that kind of album.
Agree! I love MDNA. I know it gets a lot of crap but it’s a product Of that time. 😊
The "divorce album" but not in a Like a Prayer way 😒
or maybe some mdna
@@ccc-qp7el she divorced months after Hard Candy was released
I prefer Mdna to hard Candy any day of the week 😃
How can you say there is not a lot going on with these videos? The woman in in her 50's looking amazing! The video is an Elle Fashion shoot and is about Madonna's relationship with fashion, It's glamourous and fantastic!
I Love Madonna
Such a great a song and vide Madonna is a genius, she's such a great singer, consummate songwriter, song and record producer and performer. BRAVO.
The best video of this era is "4 minutes". You should see it.
The director was Tom Munro, a fashion photographer and the video was filmed during the Elle photoshoot
And why you always think that Madonna had to got a deep meaning music video...this is just fun
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like it, just still not really the best vid in my pov
H&M and American Apparel cannot afford to show videos like this caliber at any of their stores.
The Rebel Heart era will win your heart. Hang in there.
This shoes in first frames. Speechless 🤩
Es un rolón... A mi me encanta y el video igual...
Totally agree! this is about where Madonna decided that her New fans were OK with her phoning in her videos. New fans that were completely clueless about her past work. I love your Bonnie & Clyde idea! she really does have a Faye Dunaway vibe here, but I would have definitely gone with some kind of hollywood actor for Clyde & not Pharell. Wonder what Taron Egerton was doing about this time.
Most of her videos for MDNA, RH and MX were really good, I don't even like MX, but all 5 videos were on point for that album
during a fashion shoot for a magazine in madonna came the idea of shooting the music video for give it 2 me asking the photographer to shoot the video even though he had never done it. apart from 4 minutes all the other videos of this period are arranged. Madonna was busy with the tour and with the end of her marriage. there was no time for videos
Make sure you react to “Celebration” and “Revolver” before MDNA tour
I will admit when I first saw this video, I was a bit disappointed, but then I remembered, not every video needs to be a conceptual statement, with strong messages and cinematic visuals. Besides, she has done so much of that over the years, it's going to be hard to top some of her most classic videos. The song isn't meant to be that deep... just a fun dance track to bop to. The video compliments that and I definitely can see this a club video.
Lol she filmed this video while she was doing a photoshoot for a magazine.
Told ya it was down hill from here !!!! 😂😂😂
You should drop ur MDNA reaction on Patreon today, it's her 40th anniversary since the release of her first single.
Do a drunk reaction for MDNA
Looks like Taylor could use a hug. The lack of imagination on these music videos speaks to the state of the music industry at the time.
The video for Celebration wasn't much better.
I was just thinking the same thing about editorial and concepts and story, When you said that. Heh, that was cool. Check out video for Berlin's No More Words for your Bonnie and Clyde storyline, it's cool.
Haha he tried it.
As an old school Madonna fan from 1983, this era is when Madonna started to get really cringeworthy and wanting to stay relevant with the people she collaborated with.
I love this song. I love all Madonna songs produced by Pharrell.
This era’s music video was blah. MTV was kinda done with music videos and I think the YTube era of music videos had not yet gotten huge.
I don't think the videos get good again till Reble Heart.
Since you drank alcohol for Confessions, I recommend mdma for MDNA
LOL! STAHP! 😂😂
True 😂
I can't wait for Madame X and Rebel Heart.
It’s probably because she spent her whole budget on the tour.
"a ballet student trying to figure out how to shoot music videos" XDDDDDDD
Can’t wait for the MDNA era review. He’s really gonna hate it af
Bonnie and Clyde theme video would have been amazing... Actually this was a photo shoot for a magazine back then. I can't remember which one though. Harpers Bizarre comes to mind..I could be wrong regarding magazine. 🤔
And it's funny that Taylor keeps mentioning that this looks like a video played in H&M because I believe the clothes that she is wearing in the dance studio are from her Material Girl line from H&M.
Shooting a video while doing a photoshoot for Elle Magazine, limited budget after spending too much money on Justin moaning and Pharrell saying "to the left to the right" in every song
Did you do some studdy it before ?
Writing and inspiration
"Give It 2 Me" was written by Madonna and Pharrell Williams as a self-empowerment song. Ingrid Sischy from Interview magazine asked Madonna whether the song had the ability to become a party anthem in Ibiza. Madonna responded that she liked the idea of everybody dancing to "Give It 2 Me", treating it as a party anthem. When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Madonna said,
"It's ['Give It 2 Me'] very anthemic. I basically wrote it so I could have a great time doing it in a stadium. The words are very autobiographical. 'Got no boundaries, got no limits. Don't stop me now. If it's against the law, arrest me.' Yes, that's me. It's the provocative me. The boring, predictable me."
The music video featured Madonna recreating her look from the Elle magazine May covergirl photo shoot, and was directed by photographer Tom Munro. Williams had a guest appearance in the video. It received positive response for her retro-inspired look.
actually, Give It 2 Me is based on an earlier demo called Infinity which you can find on UA-cam
I like Bonnie and Clyde but I feel like we had that in 2002 or whenever with WIFLFAG video. More like Granny and Clyde but you know what I mean.
I love a lot of Hard Candy and its subsequent tour, The Sticky & Sweet Tour, but this was most definitely Madonna’s lowest point in terms of creativity. She was divorcing her husband, she was leaving her record deal, she was turning 50, she was 25 years into the game - I just think she was kind of checked out as an artist. I still love it tho. I don’t think Madonna has a bad album. Don’t worry, it gets good again after this. Ha.
EDIT: Oh, and The Sticky & Sweet Tour has some of her best choreography and dancing on a tour to date. So, over all, I ain’t mad at it.
We were all expecting a massive choreographed dance EPIC music video..
What do we get? A Lazy bts video.
Was ultra disappointed and deflated when I first saw this.
Thank god she made up for it in the tour with her storming the stage with all the dancers for an epic performance.
Omg, ik, ik! Tell me about it. That era... I mean... I don't even want to talk about it. But yes, the tour more than made up for it
@@XxVirginBabyxX right?!?!??
Was That same deflated “are you fucking kidding me” feeling I had for the Jump video.
Man, you're taking this way too seriously, and I've written essays on the symbolism behind Madonna's videos and tours.
Pharrell go away!!! Couldn’t agree more. Maybe that’s why I’m not a huge fan of this album. She looks great though but I’m here for her not Pharrell.
4 Minutos has the best MV on this era. Or maybe Celebration
I agree that the videos from this era are nothing to get that excited about. But if you’re into fashion the styling of this video is pretty fab and Madonna looks amazing. She kinda kicked off the whole trend for thigh boots with this era but I’m a fashion fan. Totally agree though that a Bonnie and Clyde theme would have been awesome but I think this era she had other shit going on in her life and kinda phoned in these videos.
I agree, not a fan of the video. It’s just blah. Madonna usually makes excellent videos. She helped create the music video era where videos told a story. But this one isn’t it. I love the song though. And I love your idea of the Bonnie and Clyde. That would’ve been dope.
He won't like it, I know 😅
Who does?
Plenty of people like it. Including myself.
@@RockinDaBoombox I love it! It’s just fun and Madonna looks sexy and beautiful! ✌🏻
@@RockinDaBoombox I don't like it
@@RockinDaBoombox I like it too, it's energetic and editorial style, I work out with it
What happen to this gen of kids........😮💨 You deserved just 40
K+ subs kid.
It's an homage to her beauty dude ,but I see u enjoying the vibe of it 😂
Yeah not a big fan of this video. I think she was in rehearsals for the tour and just wanted to do something quick and fun. The directors are fashion photographers, so that explains the editorial/film student vibe. It's not great. There are technically only two proper videos for this album - was the other video you watched 4 Minutes? Because that's not one of her best videos either but the concept/effects are kind of cool. The videos for her next two albums are better - I think she had a bigger budget from her new label at the time. But generally her best videos are behind her at this point in her career. She set the bar high early on, but 20 years of high quality isn't too shabby. People forget that most other artists would be dead or retired by this point.
O álbum se traduziu melhor na turnê, a divulgação em clips e capas de single por exemplo foi bem preguiçosa
Love this song but yeah the video is a simple photoshoot style video. I was hoping they'd go with the boxing theme that went with the album cover, turn her into a fighting champ! Hard Candy is actually in my top 3 favorite M albums, its a great dance album but I can understand how people will see it as generic. Generic or not though, I love the beats on this album!
it's what I call an "mtv video" , those that are streamed on nightclub, only for images without any meaning stuff for clubbers. Like the " celebration" one : her face, her body , her moves, nothing else.
The video is great. And the bag is from Pharrell Williams.
Merecía mejor video esta canción pero se enfoca tanto en la gira que sus segundos o terceros singles son videos normales.
Hey I love your deep dive!! You should know that Madonna really had no interest in making Hard Candy and MDMA... the record company forced her.... and you can tell .....brace yorself for MDMA.... and the good songs werent on the official release//that lable totally screwed her career...
Exactly. "MDNA" was released 4 years after "Hard Candy" and it didn't worth the wait. It sounded and felt very unispired. It was obviously released only because of contractual obligations.
BYE FELICIA !!!
This is one of the very few disappointing Madonna videos of all time.
However I think the song is FIRE!!! specially LIVE!!
😁 look, after 2008 Madonna had budget constraints on account of the Economic Crash that started then (and that we are feeling now as a Depression) so yeah, at the time, I thought "why has Madonna gone low budget" but now as an adult and I k ow stuff, yeah, she had budget cuts. We will never get an American Life/Die Another Day or even Confessions type of video (not counting Gimme All Your Lovin' which the NFL paid for and honey you know that football money is old, long and hard!). Yes, I know God Control thank you.
u obviously dont like Pharrell, we get it dude. it's not that serious. lol he's in the video cuz he's in the song, is it that weird?
Fun bop. Silly fun video. We all don't have to like all the same stuff.🤷♂️
The way this is edited is pretty much how she edited her concerts which was not a good concept
The video was directed by Tom Munro who is a fashion photographer and he did do a photoshoot with her around this time.. yeah Pharrell adds nothing to the video really..
Will you react to Hold The Girl (album) by Rina Sawayama??
Hard Candy si the worst... In general.
You will get more and more disappointed when you go through her last few albums.
American Life (2003) was the last Madonna album with great and creative music videos. Die Another Day ($5M), Hollywood, American Life, & Love Profusion. After that she put more effort and money into the tours: Reinvention (2004) - MDNA (2012). From Confessions - Madame X, all of the music videos became her strutting around with a multiethnic dance crew doing the heavy lifting. Ask the fans before you waste time reacting to filler efforts.
"Die Another Day" video was actually $6.2 million 😇
React to Madonna's 4 minutes with Justin Timberlake
H&M?
Hard Candy had very mediocre videos. However, Give It 2 Me is one of her best songs of the 2000s. Check out her promo tour.
Sticky and Sweet is a better tour. her best selling tour, actually
@@AlexeBriand2002 Yes but I doubt he would designate the full two hours to post it on UA-cam.
That’s not like any other purple bag 😂😂😂
Pharrell did not add anything good to the song either. Most songs of Madonna's 40 years old first album sound more sophisticated than this one. Each layer is annoyingly cheap thanks to the mediocre charlatan.
i think the hard candy era has the most meh videos among her entire videography. perhaps she was saving all the excitement (and budget) for the tour idk...even though i started to love the album a few months ago, visually, the whole era is still unattractive for me. even mdna, my least favorite album, have more iconic videos than hard candy, which was considerably more succesful than its successor.
Thing is Hard Candy is better than the stuff people have to listen to today. For Madonna it’s crap.
"Hard Candy" was a very good album for anyone else at the time, but it was below Madonna's standards
ngl i didnt like this song but the new remix is 100% better
That didn't sound like a remix too me but ok?
@@quanashiab.9620 im talking abt the new give it 2 me remix on her new album Finallly Enough Love
ewww...you might not want to watch Celebration and Girl Gone Wild...similar concepts and styles
p.s. these particular videos are not meant to be watched but to be glanced at while dancing in the clubs (substance not included nor needed).
He has a NIN nails t-shirt on. Nothing original about trent reznor
It's not a NIN shirt lol.
American Life may not have been a great album but the videos from that era were pretty cool, but Hard Candy, aside from being the flop that it was, the videos sucked as much as the album. That whole Hard Candy era was pure trash.
Yes Madonna is gonna call you in your tiny house with your old couch with a slipcover cause it's obviously too old and want you to redo her massive hit video with Pharrell who leads one of the most exclusive fashion houses on the planet.....terrible review. I've reviewed so many reviews and this was another level of awful...
The song is ok, but I never liked it as a single. Not even in 2008. There were better options for a second single of "Hard Candy". And the video was just meh
Like heartbeat
@@quanashiab.9620 Yes, "Heartbeat", "Miles Away" or "Beat Goes On" were much better options for the second single imo
@@MarvinGuatemalanBoy Agreed. "Dance2Night" should have been the final single tho. Like, it starts with madonna going into a weird cosmic club, and has a different outfit (magically on) and dancing.
It's pretty redundant and terrible.
It's a nice vid, the 4 minutes vid is better 2 me(get it) but yeah, all 3 vids of this era is....idk
Yes, "4 Minutes" has a better video, and that's saying a lot
@@MarvinGuatemalanBoy Yeah, miles away and Give it 2 me are just kinda lazy, just had swag edits and that's it. The vid for GI2M, is mostly a photo shoot for the cover of the 2nd single. And the vid for miles away, is just tour footage with some other stuff blah blah(black cat by janet in my opinion, had a better tour vid 2 me)
@@quanashiab.9620 True. Madonna released very lazy videos in 2008-2009
@@MarvinGuatemalanBoy Yeah
You need to do better M videos like bad girl , oh father and rain - her videos post AL era have all been terrible
So true
Yeah, if this was anyone else, it'd probably be fine. But coming from the woman who put the M in MTV, an artist who consistently raised the bar creating the highest quality videos that were cinematic in scope and storytelling and iconic imagery....this period was disappointing.
It started, imo, with the Confessions videos through to the MDNA videos. Just. Not. It.
That's Pharrell's own giant crocodile Hermès Birkin bag btw. Probably the most expensive part of this lazy ass video lol.
A mediocre video for such a fun and cool song.
The song isn’t all that though. It’s ok. For her it’s throwaway.
The song is a total ‘late’ M classic. Every remix is fantastic.
@@taintedlife2618 I agree. The song itself is just ok. Not a remarkable or very interesting one.
Madonna was so beautiful here. But what a stupid video 😢
