Madonna continued to prove to the world her relevance into the 2000's. She has made incredible music her entire career. Keep going down the Madonna rabbit hole - "Burning Up", " Express Yourself", "Cherish", "Papa Don't Preach". There are just to many songs to name. Just keep them playiing and reacting to them.

She is the ultimate trend setter.. she literally defined the fashion of the 80s and 90s.. almost every recognizable fashion trend for those decades were a product of her videos. She was also the inspiration for most of the female artists of that time. Basically the female version of Michael Jackson.

From "Holiday" in 1983 to this song in 2000, and beyond, she has an amazing record of hits that were more than hits. Many became anthems and dominated radio airplay, like "Like a Virgin", "Vogue", and "Papa Don't Preach". Also, beautiful ballads are "Live to Tell" and "This Used to Be My Playground", featured in the film, "A League of Their Own" (when TV stations don't cut the ending). Another 2000’s song you must listen too hung up which is her highest selling single of hey career selling 9 million copies and reaching No.1 in 41 countries in 2005! Peaked at No.7 in the states as radio refused to play her as they thought she was too old (she was 47 at the time)

What you don't know is that Madonna was pregnant with her second husband, Guy Ritchie's son during the shoot for this video. Some fans questioned whether she should out partying during that time. But this song is amazing. The Material Girl is on fire here.
Maybe next, we could get a look at LUCKY STAR since that video propelled her to the top of the charts. Or maybe BURNING UP, INTO THE GROOVE, DRESS YOU UP, or even BEAUTIFUL STRANGER from the Austin Powers movie. Enjoy

Then there are songs from her masterpiece of an album, "Ray of Light," including the title track and "Frozen". I'm puzzled why Jay has trouble liking some of Madonna's better songs but he likes "Music" which is meh.

Madonna's first song was Lucky Star in 1983, and she's still going strong. Glad Jay finally found a Madonna song he loves! :D She started getting racy with her videos in the 90's, so goodness only knows where she goes in her 2000's videos (I've only seen a few of them). I'm not as familiar with her music from the 2000's because I didn't turn on the radio much that decade, mostly listened to CDs of songs I already loved during those years. I know she put out a ton of songs during that time, though, so I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions from others. :)

This was Madonna's big COMEBACK hit in 2000. The stuff she did in the late nineties was okay but not like this! Like Prince, Madonna has already been good at reinventing herself which is probably why her career has lasted 40 years! My favorite era of Madonna was the eighties but she is undeniably a legend in the business! Please do not say “oh, but there was Ray of Light” because I don’t count that because it did not meet my standards for Madonna! 😂 This is my POV and I will report any harassment! ✌🏿

I want Jay to fall in love with MADONNA! #1 fan here, although there are millions just like me. There is no 70's Madonna but her career is still going strong 40 years later. 2 weeks ago in 2024 she played last Celebration performance on tour in Rio to 1.6 million people, largest crowd ever for any artist, Ever! Among many other up tempo songs/videos maybe Jay would like 'Turn Up the Radio' 2012 which should've been every bit as massive as 'Music' but due to ageism they don't play anyone over the age of 40-45 on radio which is asinine. I think with her next album, maybe she'll change that and if anyone can do it, it's Madonna. I've loved her since age of 13 and 'Holiday' then 'Everybody' her very first charting song, Borderline her first video with that look, sound and style that was just so exciting, and still all my favorite songs but there are hundreds, all favorites, never just one, 'Get Into the Groove', 'Open Your Heart', 'Causing a Commotion', 'Papa Don't Preach', later ones 'Miles Away', 'Girl Gone Wild', "Ghost Town', 'Bitch I'm Madonna', 'Future', 'Crave' and all of Madame X which was her most diverse and challenging but still brilliant the more you listen. Madonna says it all in a wink and a smile, tongue and cheek, yet very political because she wants to be on the right side of history and support the country with kindness not fear mongering, the voice of an angel, heart of gold, the most talent, steel drive/determination/bravery, unbelievable writing chops she doesn't get props for, incredible visuals/videos and music that transports the heart and fills you with love every time you listen to her voice, not one bad song and not one other artist I can say that about although Janet, Prince, George Michael and Michael come close. I'm not sure what era you're in on your M journey but I need a Madonna poster on your back wall. Ha, no really. I've watched your Chaka 'Through the Fire', 'I Feel for You', 'Ain't Nobody, which are beautiful and her voice made me cry and dance, 'Secret Garden, can't believe you had never experienced Rhythm Nation and all of Janet's songs/videos before, and many of your videos but I was always hoping you'd get to Madonna and you've done me right although you need to watch, if you haven't already, 'Vogue' from VMA's, the production/choreo is astounding and fun and many many many more songs/videos like 'Express Yourself', Papa Don't Preach', 'Open Your Heart' / all concert footage, if not the entire concerts from beginning to end to really get the full weight of her artistic expression and the beauty of her music/face/dance. I've been to 13 concerts which she is best known for. M's live performances are unrivaled, so elaborate, every hand gesture choreographed and what makes her the consummate performer, right up there with Michael, Beyonce and Janet although..... I feel Janet lost some steps since 'All for You' tour out of the game for 10 years with ex and I have a giant painting of Janet still on my wall and I'm going to see her a second time in Detroit for Together Again tour, and she can dance as good as anyone but she doesn't put the time in, nor money, stage design, no new music or new choreo or large number of dancers into her concerts like M does every single time out, M rehearses for a year prior, but I've seen every one of Janet's tours too. It's Janet and Madonna who are still with us and I am so grateful, sad that all.... Whitney, Prince, Michael and George all died from prescription drugs, well, maybe not Whitney. Start with Blond Ambition, The Girlie Show, Confessions, MDNA, Rebel Heart and the last one Celebration, all are works of art with incredible music, every song/performance done in a new exciting way with new sound/choreo for older songs. Madonna is Magic and Jay, I need you all in because you will never experience another artist like Madonna and her music! I could write pages and for days on M but I need to stop. If you haven't yet fallen in love as I hope your beauty has... I haven't caught her name yet but I feel her pain. Ha So many people don't understand what they've missed out on, a true icon and the Queen of everything, certainly all styles of music. Beyonce is Queen B but M is the Queen of Pop forever. Madonna also kept her record for largest selling performing artist sales above Taylor's with the net profit of Celebration. Yes, Taylor will probably end the Era's tour surpassing M, but 40 years later, M is still #1 and breaking records!!! I am so so lucky to have Madonna in my life, and you can too. M is timeless so jump on in. It's all love. 'Nothing Really Matters', love is all you need.
