All grandstand/spectator questions answered in this video! ua-cam.com/video/Q_ooHAESBDQ/v-deo.html
Congratulations on the fair comparison, Gran Turismo 7 is a disgrace when compared to this new Forza Motorsport, the damage to the cars is almost non-existent in GT7, while in Forza it is quite satisfactory, the crowds in the stands and many of the trees are completely in 2D cardboard in GT7, while in Forza are completely in more realistic 3D, the details of the GT7 tracks are a shame, it looks like a game from the previous generation, while in Forza the tracks are quite detailed, the rain in GT7 is horrible (it doesn't even look like it's raining), there isn't even reflections, while in Forza everything is much more realistic (it really looks like it's real rain) and reflective, in GT7 it feels like you're driving a block of brick and not a car (even the camera is horrible), while in Forza the feeling speed is much better and the car reacts like in real life, the only problem with Forza is the AI which is already being fixed with Patch, other than that the new Forza is light years ahead of Gran Turismo 7!!!!
No, it isn't, at no point do you mention why there is a difference in this video.
@@webpcmasterlrp120really coping much are you, the rain is far better in gt7 campared to fm, fm has inaccurate tracks and car models no vr support, its gt7 that is leagues a head, barely no one is playing the new fm for how bad it is,
hell nah Forza is an unfinished game, it doenst even come close to GT7@@webpcmasterlrp120
@@webpcmasterlrp120C'est toi la honte de jouer a cette daube FM8 eh oui GT7 lui met encore la raclée du siècle, ce FM8 c'est le bide intergalactique...
Pretty sure the lack of spectators in gt7 is because youre in time trial mode. There are always way more spectators if you do an actual race
You 100% right about this. During GTWS on stream I was talking about what they were cooking because you could see the smoke from the grills
yeah you opnly get spectators at race or qualifying =)
You get more spectators during the race then qualifying 🙄 this happens in every racing series even in real life.
How many times does this need to be said? I get tired of people trying to explain this..
You would think Kireth would know this. Sometimes I wonder about this guy lol
The fact that there’s a crowd during a time trial in Forza just means they only have one version of the track scenery whereas GT has more than one
Exactly
@@tgreg9542 also, why would the stands be packed for time trials?
The crowd is bigger in the actual race in fm
@@mouadtalbi4170 thanks. I didn’t know that. My assumption was wrong then
Fits into the general song of „Forza Motorsport developers simply don’t care much about details“
Honestly I never even paid attention to the crowd. I’m to busy trying to not miss my braking marks 😂😂
I always thought the lack of spectators in GT7 was because nobody would come out to watch me race.
Only the hardcore fans 😅😅
Try an actual race and not time trial. You'll get more "fans" watching you.
@@Kirethyou havent played GT7 that much havent you. Do an actual race
@@GTChucker86I've put 1000+ hours and never thought about the crowd lol
@@kerimca98 actually same, only real noticeable difference are the planes I see up above during a race
I do think it's silly that FM added Track lights for night racing. If you watch Porsche: Road to Le Mans you'll see that Nordschliefe is pitch black at night.
He knows the stands in GT7 are more empty due to time trial; he has said it in other videos!
I try it with time trials on forza and its the same with forza have low spectators but the tents still there 🤷♂️
He always knew yet decided to upload this waste of a video anyways. Mediocre Kireth as always.
@@chungopopo9260Bad excuses, but look, it's because it's time trial/time attack. It's no excuse, it's very simple to have a full crowd around the stands. But how curious, when a guy sucks up to Sony the guy is good, when he points to something at Sony he becomes a bad guy. Then the fanboys are the others, right, concentrated hypocrisy. You can now create the universal church of God, and don't forget the tithe.

He just said in the video, idk if it’s because I’m on a time trail🤦🏾♂️ so you’re saying he’s purposely trying to make one game look bad right???
Gt7s crowd population changes because your in time attack mode it appears less populated but that would be the case on shitty test day time attack day so pretty realistic I think
Very realistic
During a race I can confirm the grandstands are full, including the Mercedes stand in GT7. Use the 24hr version on GT7 and watch the trackside, very, very, very different to TT mode, you get smoke from the BBQ's, everyone is having party's etc, very cool.
Especially at night 🤩
The thing though, I've done races, not time trials and the stands in gt have been bare.
If you played GT7 this much you should already know that the spectators in time trial are always sparse..you know like in real life lol....the people only show up in mass for actual races....this is on purpose and you know it lol....if you wanted to see full grandstands just do a race
Really focusing on the amount of spectators of all things???
Exactly what I think, like not the track itself and the kerbs and stuff, No, the Trees and spectators lol
Generally yes using in car view how pretty my car looks is the last thing I'm looking at I'm racing picking out braking points along the trackside can tell racers from 🤡s
Little Detail: The first Corner of the NOS isn‘t called Hatzenbachbogen, it is Sabine-Schmitz-Kurve 😊
R.I.P., she was awesome 😢
I played ALL the GT series, I always hated the camera "static" feeling: no tilt, no shake, no zoom, it does not enhance the sense of speed in any view.
It's almost stuck on the car like glue.
This is one of the very few things that I like more in Forza games
Digital foundry already debunked this is because you're using a time trail and GT7 also represent more accurate track details
Looking at nordschleife i dont think thats correct. Like it is obvious
@@firstbreath1371yeah obvious that GT7 has way better graphics Forza doesn’t even have clouds or change the dynamics of how your car drives when it rains..truthfully Forza doesn’t even come close in comparison as far as simulation
@@lp680 what are you talking about XD I mean those PS church is getting out of control right there XD Forza has like 12 different weather option including dynamic weather and yes you can set how much cloudy the sky is. Also Fog and most important - circuits own lighting xD Good luck with driving normal tires on wet tho xd
@@firstbreath1371 TBH, GT is better. GT7 has better track detail while Forza Reuses the nurburgring track from the older titles, it's actually sad that they marketed it as built from the ground up, but Damn, we're falling for devious marketing by billion dollar corporations, it's actually sad.
The crowd in Forza also reacts to you and the race. Try crashing in front of the stands they will react, if you make passes close to them or slide in a corner they react...You will hear the go wild, or be in shock, all depends on the situation...
They do the same in GT7 On the last lap the PIt Crew will be hanging on the fence as you approach
What do I have to do to make their shadows appear? haha
Visually speaking I think Forza looks quite a bit better than GT7 here. And I’m saying that as a PS5 GT7 player. Besides the tint, forza’s lighting seems better. There is way more detail in the track and even if you actually do a race for the higher population of spectators, Forza actually feels like a better ambiance.
I'll take the more accurate circuit over better scenery in a racing game lol
He's running it on PC with a RTX4090!! Not a fair comparison to PS5.
@@Roguewrrior56 but the circuit is more accurate on FM, it’s more recent than GT7 and that’s a fact so your comment is a cope
For me the track in GT7 looks too clean, where as in Forza you can see it's a track that is being raced on.
Mate, no offense, but buy new eyes.
Forza look like a 2007 game with those graphics. All it has is sun.
RE Simcade/Simulation: I've only been sim racing for a few months now but I feel that if a game prioritizes the controller, it can be classified as a simcade.
That out of the way: these both look phenomenal. GT has always looked really good and now that T10 has pulled their heads out of their butts, Forza is starting to really shine as well. Let's hope it continues!
This game is great on a rig! Loving Motorsport lately
@Soulfarmer33 most definitely. Horizon is honestly trash on a rig. Motorsport though is amazing once you get all your settings dialed in. Honestly I think the force feedback on motorsport is one of, if not the best in the sim department. Probably just comes down to personal preference.
@Soulfarmer33definitely agree brotha! Enjoy the game my friend. Hopefully it keeps getting better and better. Always enjoy talking to a fellow positive gamer! Enjoy your weekend
In every video that compares any racing game to Gran Turismo 7, I am amazed every time how detailed Gran Turismo 7 is, from the cars to the race tracks
Weirdos in comments getting triggered over a game
I'll play both who cares 😂
Weirdos that have to do with their life definitely do. Like you probably?
It is the comment, it is the “specialist” stating a bunch of nonsense.
You don’t need to lie about one thing to state good things about the other thing.
But I have fixed that. Just unsubscribed.
✌🏻
I was once such weirdo in the Sega days 😂
I guess its an age thing where especially kids need to defend their choice of brand. Especially when the other brand is doing something better now they nitpick on the small stuff 😂
5:29 populating without any sense. T13 is closed years ago and is not allowed to use. And not at the 24h race. Simply never!
In order whst matters to me
1.driving realism; sounds, a.i, physics, damage and wear.
2. Car roster/track roster
3. Visuals and attention to detail; shifter movement, handbrake, wipers, lights, and environment.
4. Upgrades and customization.
5. Online features; custom lobbies, class lobbies, track day lobbies, endurance.
6. Offline progression; by far my least concern, but still needs to be implemented for the longhaul and boast reasonable credit rewards to make it worth the time.
I don't see the grandstands full in real life when it's just track day without a race event going on. Unless you're a prime Michael Schumacher in Maranello doing time trials, no one will pay to watch a bunch of normal dudes doing trial laps lol.
Time trial mode has less spectators than in a race for gt7
"Man, in GT7, I feel like I'm all alone on the track and no one's watching me." well, I mean, you were when you recorded that.
I've been blown away by FM7's Nordschliefe in the best possible way. I've just spent the last few months watching the 2023 24 hr Nordschliefe a little bit at a time, and to me, the FM7 version feels far more like what I saw and felt while watching. Especially at night, where the side crowds and tents and signs just come to vivid life. I think it's incredibly well done, and I can finally start to get a real feel for the track through FM7. (I have both, loved GT7 first got the Xbox to try FM7 and FH5.)
I tell you something I just upgraded my graphics card and can play at max settings but that doesn't matter. My first takeaway after playing was the AI is not good at all. This made it very frustrating. But the flags along the track are cool. 😂
Digital Foundry already did a great “head to head” video with these games. He must’ve never seen it. It’s over an hour long very in depth, he even compares both track to real life using google earth💯 its really a must watch🙌🏾
not Nordschleife tho
@@CJIEnOuBOBR I suggest you take a look at AutomotiveVP comparison and not this one.
Way too much writing on the road. Wrong kerb heights, no noise of the road on the carousel, no legit bumps. Carousel grey strip to wide like previous Forza
I like both games. But if it was laser scanned in 2023, why are they using way too much graffiti.
It is definitely pleasing on the eye. But I will take a track that is closer to actual than pretty graphics.
@@HairylovespudsIf you want a track more real to life, where's the tire marks on the GT7's track surface? The asphalt looks exactly the same from the start to the finish in GT7. That's not real to life.
@@danielallen7384your argument doesn't make any sense, GT7 literally has better track detail
GT7 have a Nordschleife 24h version with some tents and NPCs along the circuit.
I am regularly going to the the Nordschleife for some Tourist drives and Trackdays and IMO Gran Turismo has a better representation of the Track.
Forza in this example has more the 24H vibe but there are areas where placing of camp sites are wrong, for example when you approach Schwedenkreuz the big Camp site is on the Left hand site of the Track not the right.
And what is with those Flags littered around the sides of the track, nobody would Walk around NS and place them in the middle of the forrest.
Also just from looking the Track in Forza just feels a bit of, like there is just something not quit right.
true. the shadows are off. forza put tree shadows were there shouldnt be any. and the colors in forza look like the Nürburgring has been through dry weather for a decade.
The actual track surface looks wayyyyyy better in Forza. You see all the tire marks, the graffiti looks better, the grass looks more realistic. Gt7's grass and trees are too damn green. The shadows and RT in forza makes a hugh difference in how real it looks.
@99Lezard99 you guys want to talk about how GT7's track looks more real. You mention all the flags. "Who's gonna put out all those flags." Well I ask, Who's gonna remove all those tire marks from the track surface and catch fencing in GT7? And the grass and trees look more real. GT7's grass looks like it's all rye grass it's so green. And the trees. The track surface just kills it for me. Considering how much you focus on it while you're driving. GT7's surface looks so generic. No detail outside the little bit of graffiti.
For me, the feeling that the car is stopped, and the TRACK is what turns in the GT7...it doesn't change
Forza looks like real life. Gt7 looks like an idealized world
They are both great representations of the track and can't wait to see how they each feel to drive
When you do time trials in GT7 all of the tracks are way less populated.
You need to start a real race to see more visitors on the grandstands.
He knows this lol he's commented on it specifically before when not being disingenuous
With your relationship with Logitech and with Turn 10 watching your videos it would be awesome if you could talk to either of them and see if True force is a possibility in Motorsport in the future
@Logitech @Turn10
Forza 8 might not be perfect but I have never played a game that plays so amazingly well on a Game pad ever before
Including Forza Horizon 5! Both games are the best for driving with a controller 👍
I have Forza working so well on the wheel that I haven’t picked gt7 back up in 3 months. I do need to pop gt7 back on but online gt7 isn’t very fun to me.
@@GraphicFrost I have 2 wheels, not very new but still perfectly working, the fanatec porsche gt2 and logitec g27 , this forza feels decent on the wheel but then when I drive on ACC with those same wheels the real feel is kind of better ...but in case on controller NO other SIM CADE or SIM compares .... forza 8 is miles ahead on the gamepad (horizon is mostly arcade so wont compare that) ............ on this forza I am goind 2 sec faster on the gamepad compared to the wheel on an average 2 minute lap
I love it with FanatecPorscheGT3-Wheel on SeriesX, especially on Multyplayer. But it is not easy...
With Pad: Forza is allways great, every title🖖
@@eenuVERSE I'm really about even. I have CSL Elite V2 pedals and DD Pro. It took me a while to find the right settings but I fly on the wheel. It's absolutely on par.
How many spectators you had when you drive Nürburgring Nordschleife touristenfahrten in real live?
In Forza pedestrians stand in places where it would be forbidden in real Nordschleife
Hardly any, which I discuss in the video 🙌🙌
@@iPh1l1ppNatürlich
They’re all at Bruchenn really (aka UA-cam corner), there’s a huge car park there so easier for them to get to it and watch!
I've been to VLN races (not 24h yet) and never seen stand as packed as on Forza, especially the AMG stand. In general, GT gives you more realistic feel of how it is to drive TF on the Ring.
Great Video! I live next to the nbr and visit Nbr very often.
Even though Forza did a lot of things wrong at the time of release, I have to say that they did everything right with the Nordschleife.
This is the first digital Nbr version that gives me the 24h nürburgring feeling that I have every year at the Ring. The backdrop, the neon signs, the smoke, the tents, everything fits.
It all really comes into its own at night. However, they could have used a little less floodlighting on the Nordschleife. It's downright very dark on the Nordschleife but i think it is to make it less difficult for casual gamers...
Nevertheless, a great job by Turn 10👍 Forza Motorsport is slowly but surely getting incredibly good.
Correction 🙂
GT Sport "was" built from the ground up. GT7 is not and is recycled and repolished GT sport code upscaled on the PS5
@Kireth so this is comparing GT7 vs Forza running on a PC correct? You mentioned a specific graphics card, so I believe that’s the case.
What difference would it make running Forza on an Xbox instead?
As far as all the things he pointed out, none. I've logged a lot of hours on my Series X and my PC. Which has a RTX 4080 super. Graphics on pc are definitely a little sharper and clean. But as far as details. They're the same.
Forza ring is spectacular, everyone that's been in Adenau in real life or 24h can tell the massive difference and the amount of detail it has
then do an actual race in gt7. not a time trial. btw. from wich part of the track can you even see Adenau? there is only 1 short bit.....
The Gran Turismo video shows the logo that is displayed during the replay, and I don't think it is an equal comparison because Gran Turismo is processed with the replay video and the detail enhancement
Been driving this track on forza and it feels really dynamic, not sire how it feels on GT7 but Forza has done well, Gran turismo usually has better tree and bushes, more realistic, but Forza has actually replicated it pretty well here, the colours of the track surface and grass looks nice, ray tracing effect is a subtle enhancement but definitely nice.
i want to say that ever since GT5 came for the PS3 i dont like the handling/gameplay/carmovement of Gran Turismo anymore, thats personal for sure but Forza is just driving better nowadays
I have to say that Forza looks better here... more alive . Well done Forza definitely right direction!
The Forza graphics look really good in this video
Could not care less about track side graphics. The track itself is a lot more accurate in GT7, which makes it better to actually drive one, which is all that matters.
What makes GT7's track more accurate? The absents of tire marks? The missing catch fencing? What makes it more accurate?
Great video! Can you also please make a comparison in night?
Wow, FM is awesome!
I still believe Gran Turismo 4 has a very accurate Nordschleife
The fact that the stock nismo is shooting flames everytime you down shift is irealistic
So bassically GT 7 is more realistic anf Forza looks way cooler. And of course u get more detailes in Forza... U compare a 4090 against something like a 2070... x)
I would like to see Xbox Vs Ps5 to make it more fair. Great stuff. =)
He compares 2 Games with each other. GT7 is not available on PC. Not his Problem
@@HansGruberX1 😁
@@HansGruberX1lol it is his problem. He’s doing a comparison video of apples to oranges. He’s also mentioning lack of trackside detail which is dynamic in one game and static in the other. This is just one of the worst comparison video of all time, as is your judgement to think it’s not.
8:21 Cuz you're in a time trial and not in a race. I feel like this guy can't make good comparisons at all
Forza have really knocked out the park with this one
great video!!
Fun fact : the population of people in gt7 changes depending on the wheather or wgat race it is
There’s less spectators in GT7 because your on time trial mode
The graffiti on the track looked completely different last year than in both games, we always drive there a lot every year, it's only 200 kilometers away.
I did the update yesterday but I find the track very narrow, with GT7, iRacing, AC you have significantly more space, it's just wider.
Kinda feel like DigitaFoundry already settled this but why not. So yeah 100% FM23 has more stuff plastered along the tracksides. GT7 generally speaking is more IRL accurate at least for the time they captured the track data. When I say that it means correct type of foliage that’s there and not some random artist interpretation hindered with stock assets they place in a similar arrangement but are the wrong types. Also FM23 to my eye comes off way more grey/washed out in a lot of spots but the angle of the sun may have something to do with it. Something else I recall when there was the recent Manufactures Cup race there at night you could see smoke from the BBQ grills before Lauda left kink.moving over the track.
They compared a buggy mess to an established updated game. Forza's visuals have seen a good improvement with update 5. Though you have to give polyphony digital credit, they never release an ugly game.
exactly. forza looks like the Nordschleife is set next to willow springs. the color pallet is way to brown/grey.
the Eifel (the Region were the Nürburgring is) is a very rain heavy area with strong and lush vegetation.
Forza car looks like it has rear wheel steering. When the car swerves or turns right or left, the rear of the car swings out to the opposite direction.
Forza has that distinct grey-ish tint which looks better in my opinion
I was hoping for a bit more on the track surface and curbs to see if there was any difference in height and length etc..
But good video with some differeces.
To be fair you did say Forza was maxed out on a RTX4090 so you would hope it would be graphically better.
But what mode was GT7 in? In 120hz isn't there less detail and less resolution? Certainly not as much track markings and tyre marks on the track.
And like someone said isn't there less people in the stands in Time Trail mode on GT7? I'm not sure myself.
Great video bro Nice one 👍 👌 👏🏾
Cheers bro!
In time trial, GT7 isn't going to have people in the grandstands as it's not an event. The stands are populated during an actual race.
Great vid
Forza definitely looks more accurate to real life.
Nein.
doesnt. i visit the Nürburgring several times per year every year since almost 10 years. gt7 represents it much better.
It literally feels like a Japanese game vs a Wester game and I love the differences and competition!
Yeah stands are never filled up during time trials in game and real life but nice that Forza can’t spend that extra like GT7. Race in the Nordschleife in GT7 and all stands are filled and spectator tents are there as well as it should be when racing. Also make sure the you choose the same time as Forza. I do like the trees in Forza. Nice comparison though but I am glad fire isn’t constantly coming out the cars in GT7.
Yes I could tell very easily from both games.
Also stewards are in when racing. When practicing they are not in place, like real life.
Looks a million times better in Forza. Beautiful rendition of the course.
I agree, it's not even close.
Totally agree Forza looks AMAZING. But its a 4090 vs a ps5 with something like a 2070.
So it was expected... 😅
That's a lot of delusion for one person.
Are you actually blind? lol@@evilformerlys4704
If you actually play GT7… you would appreciate the different atmosphere you get and also from the Nurburgring vs the 24 Hour Nurburgring… they make it an actual event/party durning the Nur24 in FM they give you one setting like it’s always a huge event. GT7 wins I my opinion. FM Looks good though.
Do a video at night!!!
As a player of both I can tell you FM does it better. The night racing is superior since FM uses active headlights that reactive with all object while GT7 does not. Also in FM we can setup heavy fog both at night or anytime of the day which completely impairs your ability to see the track especially at night time or as the sun is trying to punch though. I really hope Poly takes some notes here and adds this level of detail as I do enjoy the gt series.
I always thought that gt revolved around a more realistic looking game but I'm seeing here that forza's quality looks really good
When you say you prefer the control pad on Forza is that not just because the wheel physics are bad? Or is it mostly that you have to use 3rd person because of the lack of a radar and you just default to 3rd person n00b mode? Or both?
Cuz it wasn't made for a wheel it's a controller game
Even though I know I can go waayyy faster playing on my controller I still prefer to play it on the wheel
@@Igloojames
So is GT
It's mainly because the settings on FM is way too complicated to dial in
If you’re looking at the crowd round the track you’re playing the wrong kind of game. I was hoping for more comments like “You can ride this curb in one game, but you can’t in the other” etc. you know the sort of thing that racing drivers would want to know…. 🤷♂️🤣🤣
Seriously lol. Besides in GT 7 if you're doing a time trial the crowds is significantly reduced compared to an actual race just like in the real world.
I have both games and like both in their own ways. It depends on what console you own and if it’s your only console. If you’re an XBox fan you have Forza. If you’re a PS5 fan you have GT. Either game will give you the racing fix that you desire as a racing fan.
The population is missing in gt7 because you are in trial mode. It is packed when you do a race. Also in gt7 the fans and technicians have clothes changes depending the weather. When it’s raining everybody wear a raincoat.
I have forza. Graphics are fine, not really important for me. What I don't like and bugs me sometimes is that it is difficult to see corners (pattern shadows, too dark, haze, mist), GT looks a lot cleaner in that regard and setting lap times orientated. FM sometimes goes out of it's way to make it more difficult to set good lap times. In games the most important thing is gameplay. FM on controller works, but it gets very tricky on a wheel. Makes no sense, it should be easier on a wheel not the other way around. This IMO is the most important thing they need to fix before they fix anything else. Also the ability to adjust FOV height. Looking at a monitor is not the same as driving a car. I at least need the camera a little higher (Hood cam for example) so I can make a bit more sense of my surroundings and the road ahead. Radar obviously. FM also need to sharpen the image more, a bit more saturation or give us the ability to adjust that from the game menu. Another thing, I can't adjust TC, ABS, SC while racing. They give us all does menus for telemetry, but I have to pause the game go to setting, gameplay to turn on/off TC and ABS, that is ridiculous. It feel like it was made by people that make and play horizon and haven't touched something like ACC. It's like a more serious, less fun, more bland, unnecessarily more difficult FH5 with more bugs unthought out things. The game is so frustrating at times that often new player DNF and that's not ok. I play the game and I want it to be better, that's why I'm "hatting". Anyways, cool channel bro, keep it up. Can you make some community races on ACC, maybe? Rory makes some, but I always miss the damn registration or something. Bosh!
First thing i did was a quick race. The most frustrating thing ever for the first few miles. The first few corners the ai just kept spinning me out.
Population is normal in GT7, they already said before that championship races are more populated, why? Because it's an actual race, not a trial, in real life time trials are not populated either or barely
I prefer the Forza side and if you play it and midnight with thunderstorm ⛈️ is just WoW 😲
The Nurburgring nordscheilfe is a dis-service to FM players there are so many details over looked and the track itself is a port of an inaccurate version of the track from older FM games. I dont know why people aren't holding these devs accountable.
I only have gt7 on ps4, so i am a bit biased. I think the detail in general looks better when watching slowly in FM, but i always use bumper cam, so would be interesting to see how FM compares with the kerbs etc whizzing by.
I agree with you said about GT feeling more closed in and in the forest. I got a bit of a Leguna Seca vibe from FM, and i would guess a German forest to be greener.
One thing that stood out for me, maybe was the different eye line, but i felt in GT the unduation seemed more engaging than FM. I didnt get same feeling of highs and lows in FM, but again I prefere bumper cam tbh....lol
Motersport is the most realistic nurburgring in a game right now . They actually went to the nurburgring to scan the track so they actually beat gt7 for once
@@IgloojamesGT7‘s version is laser scanned as well and actually has the correct scale. Several parts of the track in FM are way too narrow

The track at night is amazing too, I know they rebuilt this track specifically for pc and the new xbox
You're in Time Trials in GT so no filled stands, races have them filled. The added buildings and random filler in FM is just that, the fake hills and incorrect type of trees in FM are used in some locations to fill unscanned portions of the background that usually aren't missed in GT series. You have the advantage of a 4090 and the graphical fidelity is not anything that it should be with it maxed out and ray tracing on. But at least the track isn't 10% oversized anymore like in prior GT iterations.
A better review would be FM on SeriesX so it would be an apples to apples comparision. Doing a comparision with one game being driven by a considerably higher amount of RAM and a GPU that is easily doubles the price of the whole unit the other is being played on seems a bit biased. As a person who has played both games on console, FM is far less impressive than it is on a higher end game rig.
Forza does a good job of coloring the scene when the sun is at that 5pm to 7pm position. Everything gets a bit yellowish which is on one hand accurate but also not? Both game look so good, yet significantly different. I think technically speaking tho GT7 has better tree and prop placement to real life. And an otherwise better photorealism.
It pains me to say this as a die hard Gran Turismo fan, but Forza has become the better game of the two. GT7 is still amazing though.
The feeling of the elevation changes is so much better in the gt7 footage than in forza, it looks like it would feel a little more realistic.
Also all these banners in forza around the track are quite unrealistic, never seen (or noticed) them before in real life
I would disregard the foliage and color, it really looks like they have been scanned at different times of the year, i would take a guess GT7 scanned their version after a lot of rain in late spring/early summer, Forza i think they have scanned the track in a drought in mid summer.
Edit: At 9:15 WTF FORZA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO REBEL TREE?! Must have been scanned a LONG time ago or they have skimped on the most famous tree in Germany
I literally have never seen foliage of these types of trees look that comic book colour in gt7. 10 year + arcade game? definitely
@@blistery1875 I have seen this greenery after much rain on a summer day in northern Europe. Imo GT7 is realistic, just a well timed track scan
BINGO, I think you hit the nail on the head. The overall feel of the course differences between the two have more to do with when (ie time of the year/day) and or during which season the tracks were scanned.
As many people already know, foliage takes on many different colors and even shapes depending on what time/season of the year it is.
Forza has 3d trees. Not scanned and put on a 2d plane.
after putting about 3 hours into the track today ive come to the conclusion that they didnt laser scan the track at all and im pretty sure they just copied the FM7 track onto FM8. these xbox studios just cant stop lying
Which is not true. The very first curve after the start is new /changed and it is accurately following the track Layout as it is now (after 2023). So it actually is a new scan. It even has the new name of that curve on the respective sign.
@@retropolis1 I would find it very hard to believe they scanned the entire track with all the inaccuracies and assets copied from fm7
@@natenate33 If you compare the track to last year's real life footage, it is actually very accurate this time around. And as I said before, there are obvious changes that could not have come from the FM7 version, since that is much older, Starting with the tarmac graffito.
Obviously, enough people have said it already, but trackside density in GT changes depending on what type of event you're doing. You've said this before yourself, and it's pretty common knowledge that's shared across all sorts of videos like this from sim racing channels. The fact that you suggested it was something related to GT7 being derived from GT Sport would normally make me assume you don't know. And maybe you just forgot. But I'll be honest in that I've got a SLIGHTLY icky feeling that you actually just presented it that way for engagement. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though, since I don't think you'd have belabored the point THIS MUCH if that was the case. Either way, I would personally really appreciate it if you did more research on this type of thing in the future, before potentially spreading misinformation.
Same goes for when you pointed out the reflections in Forza and suggested that's the benefit of ray tracing. You can get those exact types of reflections from cube maps, which both games have on offer. Environmental cube mapping is very commonplace and has been for a long time. They're great at doing static objects that don't move... like curbs on the track. Their weakness is that they don't do dynamic objects... like rival vehicles. For those, you'd need screen space reflections (which wouldn't work well at all here), or something like planar reflections... or ray tracing. The reason you can't see the same reflections near as clearly in GT7 when you pointed it out, isn't because of the ray tracing. It's instead a combination of where you're at on the track surface, the license plate you have covering it, and the ways they handle paint differently. GT's paint system is far more complex than Forza's, and has a tendency to simulate level of gloss much more realistically. That paint, on that car, isn't glossy enough in real life to show those reflections that clearly. Find a glossier car in GT, and you'd see the same reflections you do in Forza.
It's also worth noting that generally, when comparing GT's tree types and treelines to real life, they're more accurate than Forza's have been in this latest game. Same with trackside details like signage, though Forza does sometimes have GT beat there. Forza here looks pretty great. This comment isn't about suggesting that it doesn't; this is a track that seems to gel particularly well with Forza's rendering pipeline in this specific weather/time of day/etc. And for all I know, they could've heard the feedback about the sometimes shockingly inaccurate trackside details from the launch tracks, and really worked hard to make this one better. It looks great, and I mean... I'd HOPE so when you're using such a high end PC. But generally there's more attention to detail put in by Polyphony's track team, and I think that - as well as a lot of the knowledge needed to make a comparison such as this - was missing from this video. Color me disappointed, not because I need one game or another to """win""" to feel validated or whatever garbage. But simply because this video feels rushed in a way that can too easily spread unnecessary misinformation. It's kind of a mild slap in the face to the days and days, if not weeks or months of work some others have put into really making sure their similar comparisons are as fair as possible to both game. Especially when some of those channels AREN'T dedicated racing game channels. If they can get it right, I feel like you have a responsibility to try your hardest to do the same :(
Brudda can you make a video 😅
@@Kireth I'm not sure what you mean.
@@LibraScope as in I'd quite like to see your video on this!
@@Kireth I unfortunately don't have GamePass any longer, nor could I get the new FM to run particularly well on my rig when I did. Otherwise, honestly, I would probably make a video comparing the track from a wealth of different games. Though I'd primarily want to do it more to see the evolution of how it was handled across the decades. Like, even just Turn10's tendency in earlier games to intentionally widen tracks to make online passing easier, is and interesting quirk. I made a video years ago on the evolution of golf game mechanics that was kinda similar in concept. But that's the only way I could see an audience like mine being particularly interested in such a video.
I wish the cars in Forza were as beautiful as the trees
FM looks way better, much more detailed track surface whereas in GT7 it just looks flat, and better lighting and shading in FM as well
Decent comparison vid, but I would like to see some real life footage added for comparison. @mgcharoudin has got plenty of TF laps to choose from. To me GT7 looks slightly over saturated and FM has a more cinematic approach. As stated by others however, timing can further influence the chosen direction. More importantly, this track single handedly has reignited my appreciation for FM and I actually took place in my sim rig for a couple of laps on the Nordschleife! Great addition.
Talking about something else here, there is a huge diferrence on distance perception in both games, GT looks closer and FM further, take the pit straight with the mercedes stands for example, pretty clear the diferrence, is that camera angle play, or the tracks itself are dimensioned differently?
Idk if its me but my forza looks way better than his on this vid idk if its just the video doing this
We're trying to set fast lap times not look at the crowds
Do a comparison in the night, would love to see difference in the night since forza have more projects
I guess I've never paid attention to the people in the stands, I'm too busy trying not to fly off the track
I don’t understand. I play on the highest settings possible on xsx with a 4k monitor and on 60fps and my game looks NOTHING like the video?
I think left is on top tier PC, 4090
Forza on XSX looks and runs stunning, the graphic difference is still there.
The image on the GT 7 seems to be more clean, fm looks like a yellow filter and I'm nervous about it and it looks blurry.
