I think IKF is winning the hearts of many Yankee fans...it's his attitude...his body language is all positive, even when he was at his lowest. When Volpe hit his 2nd HR, IKF was the happiest as seen on video.
I would give the Yankees roster a very poor grade compared to what we expect as fans, but their on field performance has actually been pretty good compared to how they look on paper. I just hope they stay afloat, above .500, maybe we can be within striking distance at the trade deadline.
I think IKF been pretty good defensively but at the plate hes been stuggling, Rizzo I love him he's always been great , best batting average on the yankees currently. Volpe this dude is unstoppable once he gets on base, he def deserves that great tier despite getting of to a rough start.
this might be one of the first times I disagree with you Dan... I think too many people were on the good list. I believe Nestor needs to be better. His last two starts haven't been good and with the other starters we have, he needs to do better. I think Jimmy needs to be average, he isnt necessarily good good. Higgy should also be average at best, batting under .200 is never good lol. Trevino has also been average. Other than I agree with everything else!! You're awesome Dan!!
The team can't be doing this badly yet have most of its players ranking "good" or better. "Good" is not fighting for your life just to tread water at .500. Brito and Abreu can move down to Average - they are giving you basically what you expected. A good Brito start usually doesn't make it all the way through 5 innings. It seems totally wrong to have Brito and Judge both be equally "good" - there needs to be more of a distribution in this list generally. Or do a separate tier list for pitchers vs position players. The catchers can move down to average too. Higgy is an average backup catcher and a below average bat, and he's living up to that expectation. Trevino is doing ok - his BA is actually one of the higher ones on the team right now (more of an indictment of the rest of the team), but yeah his defensive strengths are somewhat neutered by the new base stealing dynamics.
Holmes was traded for the 7th and 8th innings leading up to Chapman. He was never attended to be the closer. King should close. Unfortunately, I would have put Loaisiga as closer . Of course he is not available until August at the earliest
Hard to judge with all the key injuries. That being said, I’d rather have these now than in August or September. As long as they can stay close (less than 10 games) I’m confident in the team.
So based on your video this team is good? We're terrible. You were way too nice with most of these ratings. I think you need to redefine your definition of what is good because most of these players this years have been subpar to awful.
Maybe be more descriptive in title in case you want to redo video later in season? "ranking Yankees Players first 30 Games" or "Ranking Yankees Players Games 1-30". Just so it's easier to catalogue and organize?
2:28 😂 how do you not have a issue with Boone taking him out the game? He was pitching perfectly fine. Not to mention Boone does that way too much and 70% of the time we lose after he does that.
Because, Dan's got our backs with the facts. I.E: most do not consider or know about how severe our IL is right now; or, alternatively, i didn't consider extensive knowledge such as the WRC on our players This knowledge when panned out gives a broader perspective on how to feel about the team's performance thus far and how things can shake up as the season progresses (vs saying: our roster is trash, it cannot improve, guess we're just a bad team, guess we're going to stay at/below .500 this season etc.) tl;dr: SOMEONE HAS TO B.
The has not played/IL is an all star team. Don't know why Perazza isn't playing every day with their lineup being what it is. Some of the good guys are borderline average. Good job.
Besides Rizzo, DJ and Judge all the rest should be on the must improve list .They couldnt hit if you gave them a tree trunk ..As of now there not a playoff team at all ..All the yankees are in the emergency room after they run to first base sad
IKF a Good player to have to mové around. Bauer will be a great addition. Calhoun is a Good bench player, when Judge And GS come back. Donaldson is a Good player.
Stanton "needs to be better" on maintaining his health issue, if you're not playing, money is washed and below average replacement players are going to hurt the team becuase of your injury
bro... i get it... we all love the yankees and want to see them succeed but this list just screams heavy copium. how we have so many good and up players and then have the record we got? cmon now...
I mean personally I’d take elite pitching over elite hitting. the offense is bad too but other than cole we have the worst pitching in the league. Won’t win a chip with just the bats
Bottom line the Yankees don’t have what it takes to win a World Series They didn’t do enough in the off-season addressing their pitching I’m sure they’ll have their streaks but my prediction is no World Series this year. They are not that good

???
Im confused, if all Yankee fans are talking about how bad they are playing but you only have 5 players that need to get better or should be cut
And we have like 200 good players on the IL
And we have like 200 good players on the IL
cause the roster is trash
let’s talk ab the real problem w the coaching
Praying for Loa, he adds so much depth to our BP which we're going to need.
Severino has been with the Yankees the longest now. Now that Gardner is gone
I grade the team a “D”.
"He's a man without a role who has a role" is one of the most philosophically brilliant things Dan has ever said.
Hicks with a 10 wrc+ is WILD

The fact that there are not many people who need to be better speaks volumes about how poorly this roster is constructed.
I for one would like to see the ability to grade Boonedoggle. He needs to be relieved of his posaition.
The "HAS NOT PLAYED" tier is almost as long as the rest of the tiers combined. 😭
Hard to judge with all the key injuries. That being said, I’d rather have these now than in August or September. As long as they can stay close (less than 10 games) I’m confident in the team.
Offense has been way below average. Pitching and defense has been good for the most part. Hence the .516 winning %
DO MORE OF THESE PLEASE thanks bro
