Outside of a final fantasy 14 realm reborn style overhaul of the game.. whatever they announce will be a massive disappointment.
Its 100% gonna disappoint. The fact that they're not saying anything just proves that the upcoming "content" is lackluster. They just cant say it, and rather keep quiet in hopes of keeping a part of their small playerbase.
These Devs never disappoint to disappoint their community.
The no daggers blows my mind honestly. We've asking for and be promised it since BETA. Crazy. And Arena not doing well...how they are surprised about that, absolutely blows my mind.

Horribly mismanaged IP, the first expansion was free but had enough content that people would have paid for it. Then AGS releases a paid expansion that has less content than the free expansion.
We gota put those devs back in the dungeon to really figure out those swiming mechanisms
i would LOVE to see a video of that live Q&A they did and feel the vibe of that room.

I was also hoping for daggers with a more meaningful way to use poison damage. And instead of full stealth a talent that removes name plate to enemies.
The last game I played that went into a silence was lotro just before it moved to f2p. I can't imagine content is the secret - more likely the monetisation model or something linked to it being sold as a going concern.
In what way has the dev team gone silent?? They release weekly dev videos and this q&a was 20 minutes long. You couldn’t be further off base
making a 20 minute video, saying "we can't talk about anything else," each weak is not communication. @@ZMACxx

@@curlybales they’ve given plenty of updates. You’re just not happy with what they’ve been working on lol. Cross-server dungeons, finalizing the MSQ, combat rework/recoding along with new movement/lock on features, console support, new 10 man trial, cooking rework, new artifacts, mounts in OPR, and on top of all of that… there is a team working on the “Huge Announcement” in June, which we know will at least include a new PvP mode (thanks to data leaks), and then… possibly a console release, possibly a new region and new weapon(s), possibly fresh start servers… and who knows what else.
Yeah this is no doubt a sales marketing embargo and market position - all I can say is the announcement better not be just pvp or consoles
everytime i see a AGS NW video 99% of the time they either cant talk about a change or its "no they wont do that". why bother making Q&A in the first place.
Man here I was coping by myself for the past months wondering if daggers would ever come to the game, but I had the same mentallity about how broken they could be in pvp.

You should do a series of retrospectives of all your old videos, and react to the things you got right and the things you got wrong about New World's progress/future. I get the feeling that after Season 5 is released, that'll be the only way of creating New World content for a couple months.
I was proper copium filled before the expansion and then things just went off the deep end
I struggle with the misguided concept that they come up with in the vid, that not revealing much if anything at all till June is in some way beneficial to the long-term game health. Sadly, it seems they're getting high on their own supply.
The june announcement is either the most disappointing shitty announcment of all time or its going to be absolutely Goated. 100% guranteed they will fail on delivery of whatever that is.
One thing that stays is that every time the developers came with their conclusions about the data they got from the game seemed wrong to me. It seems like they keep on making wrong conclusions.
Kinda related: I've been trying to figure out what they try to say with that Genesis expedition analysis of deaths and whatnot in the starting screen? Do they assume that we somehow like that expedition the most and show something about it as in didn't they realize that players do it because it is fastest way to make money?
I think that New World finally gets tossed onto the pile of "That game with so much promise, never to be fulfilled."
Probably not coming back to a company that handles their business so badly. And, yes, that means likely not to invest any time or $ into their LOTR thingie. Why bother?
bought this in 2022 and loved it up to the point the updates happened for me(seemed then like every week and took whole afternoons so i stoped playing it n tried it a few months back,but even if it had stopped w the crazy extremly often updates that took the whole day for me the damage was already done n uninstyalled it n now it just sits there on steam account)

"new OPR map" is the stupidest thing people are wishing for new world. "New pvp mode" is the thing to wish for. Just look at WOW and WSG in it and what ever eye of the storm ended up being.
Yeah the way they spoke about what was coming I thought.. why nothing about OPR it's ridiculous that it hasn't been mentioned about new maps.OPR isn't something I do much personally but for players that do it must seem strange not to mention about it. I was thinking that perhaps they are re-inventing OPR into something else which is why they have to keep hush hush. It was the only explanation for me.
They will have to add allot of content if they want to do a counsol port. Theo longer they wait the more content they will need to bring ppl back ..

Honest question. Why do people care about controller support ? Is it the combat would feel better or just peoples preferences mouse/kb or controller ? Just curious.
I care about because I sit at a desk all day for work. When I come home I want to recline on my couch. Also hurts my back sometimes to sit at a desk.
They keep being quite because the Summer Game Fest is on June 7. So they will have a big presentation about New World. That's why they can't talk about anything due to NDA. Is this good with current state of the game? No, people ask for clarity, but won't get any. If the game would be in a good state then this wouldn't be a problem to hit us by suprise... but New World still has no endcontent and it is confusing to most people why they went this route.
Let me guess. They're releasing the game on xbox/playstation and make them playable with PC
I have gave up on this game ....I have been playing since beta but there comes a time when you have to wake up and just realise some things dont get better once you accept that life can good again.
I think PVP zone is DOA unless there's massive incentives for it and systems in place to balance zerging. People already have the opportunity for open world PVP with influence races and nobody can be bothered with it now. Would much rather a medium scale (eg 10v10 - 20v20) structured PVP mode with role queue and MMR. Gives new players experience for playing in structure for wars and gives experienced players something to play casually for fun or to play hardcore for MMR. If June announcement and subsequent content flops I hope there's some accountability for whoever's making these decisions
The game is done and people need to accept that. That can't even make the game work on PC. Now they are going to attempt to make it work on consoles too. It's a gg
I'm doing my part- playing hell divers 2, New world player base will be so low by the end of the year, many will not return, looking forward to Dune awakening and more.

To be honest..., a new OPR map should be added every 3mc... why because it's a refresher for this content... the same as we have new expeditions, we do the same - almost - get some new items "skins mostly" but it's something relatively new to play sometime.
The new mode of the pvp, hopefully it'll be something like LIVE OPR... I think so. If there is only a zone where players will be forced to pvp... without anything around this... this zone will be dead and no one will use it/play it.
We will see what time brings. But I'm sceptic about NW future and think this year will be only a Console year with some improvements as a "bigger" patch... we still miss a lot of content.

QoL should be added in big numbers monthly to give a smoother gameplay feeling.
PvP and PvE should be separated. PvP and PvE should have their own gear. To get proper best PvP gear You should do PvP only.. not pve, craft and go do pvp like a boss.
It still can be dropped/crafted but PvP gear should have its own perks - PvP ONLY - because it's better for any balance. We can balance PvP without touching PvE builds and vice versa - We also own currency like Salt right now, and some PvP mats that are needed for crafting, dropped from PvP boxes... That will bring more ppl to do actively any pvp content and all content should be refreshed.
Taking territory by the guild should have a PvP rewards, not a big impact on PvE - like tons of gold for the guilds etc.
There is a lot of options but still, they don't choose any of them.
In the current state of the game, the new map will be nothing. And for sure still, this can't be called as NEW content in the game !!!

Game is being miss handled, amazon would do so much better selling off the assets and IP to a company that can run with it. Litterly needs NPC caravans that come once a week buying and balancing out player markets, PVP/PVE separated for easier balancing (just stat changes), weapons with new trees based on elements and some content that looks beautiful locked behind M3 High level grind. Like I want my armor and weapons dripping with power.
The tight lips suggests a console release. They are likely bound to silence by contractual agreements by the publishing studio for the console release
Look at one thing - when Scott was telling that they need to be silent - two times Katie was extremely sad like she was about to cry about that. Look closely - around 4-6 minute of Q&A. Something is goin on.
We about to lose alot off players agian they also need to go through and updat all the old named items like why is 625 still existing in trails we just got a year ago

I think they need to do a major patch and do re release, People want Substantial changes and this means the game has to feel better and different with new experiences.. With core functionaly changed. All systems expanded and reworked....

Not sure what people expect - every game runs out of content eventually! I only play WoW for a month when a new expansion comes out.
Expansion in 2025?... The first thing I think of is that gta6, amongst other games then, are going to finish off NW, specially if console isn't out way before then.

Oh well, I used to log in daily, and love the game, but any more, I just don't give a damn. Other games call, not to mention better weather for motorcycle riding, target shooting, and generally being outside and away from my PC.

They need to rework Item progression from scratch. Remove 6000 Items bloat from the game. Alpha version item perks had I, II and III levels and had more Random drops and perk combinations.
It all goes into marketing. If they tell us everything in these videos then that undermines their own marketing plans.
Either system people will complain about progression. If it's too hard and slow cry. Too easy cry. The point of the system is to allow for flexibility and trying different builds.
How hard is it to announce your major announcement now? Why tell people you have a MAJOR announcement, but you won't tell anyone in another 5 months? Why release a roadmap in June, when half the year has gone by?
I am grateful for removal of ward. It was why i left and the removal is what brought me back. I am not interested in having 10 sets of gear and loved that i don't have to now.

Season 5 will come with certain bugs for sure since they are changing the combat and graffic engine, always happens and that will get the community anger, also the real content of season 5 is very little and will be done during the first week so the number will drop beyond 5k. With that numbers I can imagine that the june announcement will became smaller (yesterday they said that they don't have money to do all changes since the cost and the shall choose). 2024 is the last year of NW. The game need a reset from the beginning as FFXIV did, but the were greedy.

Nothing they can do to turn this ship around besides shut the game down and move to unreal engine. This current engine clearly has been too hard for anyone to work on there. So shut it down for two years. Fix all bugs. Make a massive expansion. Then re release for free

Spore pods has code foundation and a potential for the future. PvP players utilise spores to gain Stat B uffs and they PvP around Elysian Wilds wilderness. Its fun atleast.
Most of the population are just bots working for supple and various companies dominating all worlds. Ags has absolutely no clue or they are clearly earning income via 3rd party sites. If they weren't they would solve the issues. But then again there would be no population remaining and we'd have to all transfer to one server which would promote fair healthy gameplay.. Or just quit like me and my 300 friends
Whenever they decide to make a new OPR, just scrap the old one. No one will miss it, except if the new one is worse. The old one is just so boring and not memorable at all.
Wasting time and effort on a game with peak players that seem to not even surpass 12,000 players at a time doesn’t seem like it’s worth the money. Just frustrating, an OPR map is BS content. Not interested in playing the same game somewhere else. We need more games but I don’t see a good future for this game. Focus on LOTRs and try not to fuck that one up

I think they are working on a “skirmish” war. Ie a company can issue a skirmish to another company to just fight, not for a territory.

Giving players a new OPR map cant be that bloody hard? I mean we played the same map for 4+ years now. The biggest update to OPR was the removal of "cliff" climbing.
They aren't going to make a new map because they are getting rid of it and making a pvp mode like guild wars 2
