The joke works if they have a track record of delivering content regularly, they dont. This isn't a short dead patch, it's a consistent pattern of lackluster delivery.
AGS is like if tone deaf was a company.
What they did was extremely tone deaf, esspecially considering the game isn't in a good spot.
As a 7500 hour veteran, the only thing I care about is combat bug fixes, combat balance changes, and CONTENT. Anything else that happens regarding this game, I completely don't care about. That includes these community competitions invented by some intern in the marketing department.
Bro they need a whole new dev team if you want content these people have no idea what content is 😂

If they had honored their initial promise of monthly balance patches, the game would be so much healthier. They don't even have to be great balance changes, literally just do *something* to shake up the meta and people would be satisfied.

I'm sure the Devs think this was funny, but it wasn't. It's pissing off the community. Honestly, their BS is wearing thin. The "big reveal" in June had better be MASSIVE and not just fluff and Console (because I already play on a PC, I don't CARE ONE BIT about console), or I think there will be a mass exodus. The community has learned from what just happened to Helldiver 2, that massive negative reviews will work. Don't care about transmog contests, I don't post on X or Instagram, so that garbage is lost on me.
Were the last 150,000 of several million purhcases still playing the mass exedous has already happened. They wall went back to wow. Wow has become masters at retaining their players. Every 3 months new content for retail, offset by a month is some other classic content, plus events, but big drops now with plunderstorm, pandaria remix etc. I dont know if it's genius or desperation.
T&L is going to hurt this game.

New world is just copy pasta, was in a furniture company with over 100 discord members pretty active and they all left because the only updates made to furniture was just different colours of the furniture we already had, 1000 shelfs to choose from with 1-3 items to put on them, everything looks the same, theres barely any difference between the furniture or creativity put into it

Are you sure they're actually doing a Twitch drop of whichever pack gets the most votes? I think they just forgot that all those bundles were Prime Gaming rewards, and they're asking players to vote on which bundle they'll recycle for the next Prime Gaming drop. They have a lot of problems calling their game's activities/items/promotions/etc. by their correct name.

I do think it will be something of a relaunch. But I also can’t imagine wiping thousands of hours of investment from veteran players. Maybe new monetization and a console release. It might become f2p or subscription based. Along with fresh start and whatever pve/pvp content they’re adding.
I'm thinking if you bought base+angry earth you will get the expansion free. Base game will go F2p and the expansion will be a full price entry.

If what you say is true and "Players who baught the game will get something" and "new monetization model this and that" I assume they will be going FTP. And if that is their "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" for June they should just shut down the servers now man. Because anyone that wants to play the game has already. They will lose the small number of players they have left that are still hoping for something big (god bless them).

baggins is the biggest NW streamer!? wow, didnt know that. no wonder NW has turned more into the pve game that it is now.. nuthin against baggins, but he is just so the complete opposite type of player, then i or any of my pals are.. and is mainly a pve healer. and has so much missing knowledge or false knowlegde on so many other things.. and if thro him is how most players came to see and play the game.. no wonder its turning into this extremly devided community.. too many come into a game (NW) then expecting the game to be the way they saw the streamer present it. we need more pvp streamers (the game is of course not just pvp, the pve can complement the pvp very nicely too) so that folks coming and playing are because they saw streamers having fun in pvp etc. expectations are way too all over the place atm.. also largely due to how AGS has been handling things. so u have heaps of players from the last year or two, all expecting and wanting very dif things and a dif game. and its impposible to please everyone. And then AGS get "screwed" analytics, and thinks most players want to and play mainly pve.. im kinda missing my old skool dev teams, wierdos and autistic guys, but with a real game sence and vision and top IT skills. (competion being a huge factor) now i feel like comps like AGS r more about "diversity" and company image and so many other factors.. u can still see it tho, when there is a dev(or team) that has a real vision paired with nessesary skills, to deliver what they think will make a great game. games like manor lords, or v rising show that great games can still be made. and differently then AGS is doing. im taking a NW break till sept at least. first big break since launch. the way combat just doesnt feel smooth and gud atm, and has too many bugs in it, just sucks. the combat being the main thing going for this game.
Backwards actually. Pvp should be complimentary to the main content in an MMO which is pve.
They make pvp only multi-player games. And MMO is not that. It never has been, never should be.
Don't get me wrong, pvp is fun and a awesome part of an MMO. But it is not, the main content.

NW started as and was advertised as a largely pvp game.. it mutated more n more to a pve game.. and now like 80% of the active playas mostly play pve. i really like the pve too, and enjoy an mmorpg that has both factors. but as a solely pve mmo, NW is just not great. its the mix of both, with the fun combat sys, thats makes NW special.. if they try n make it just a "normal" mmo, it kinda loses hugely to other mmos.

You played for a year. That's a pretty good run in a game. It clearly did something right. Move on. Come back if something interesting happening. Don't get over invested in these games. All of them will disappoint eventually and most of them will do something interesting enough for you to reconsider coming back for a bit.

But games like ff14 have been around since 2014 and still going strong, so one year is very low bar for an mmo.
I stuck around for 5k hours in copium that they would fix things but they let it sit and lose more than 90% of players in the process.
I dont think it excuses them unless their game plan was a quick cash grab and move on. Which we know wasn't the case.
the worm should have been in the open world, seeing it when you entered brimstone for the first time before it was even added. made you think that you could just come across it. but then they made it so u have to go to X location to see it instead of it just wondering. idk felt like miss potential because they wanted to say "we have a raid" instead of "we have interesting content, that more than 10% of the community has done" (and yes thats a REAL number the devs put out in a past video i forget the EXACT number but it was either right below OR right above 10%)

Looks like New World's average player count is about to reach 6.9k, a new low everyday. With a high percentage of bots and sellers, not sure who's buying at this point. With every patch comes anticipation that some miracle will bring back players The last puff of copium is console players riding in like heroes to save New World with their satchels full of coins.

No one cares about swimming or a raid. Their data on PvP players is ludicrously bad.
How is there data ludicrously bad. Can't make statements like that without a back up. There was way more over players but most of them quit or are waiting for more pve. The small population left is the pvp community.

The game has to release pvp and pve content. They really don't have to release new content if they simply made all dungeon names items great like the tarn set people would be interested in doing more then tarn. It isn't solely a pvp game no matter how much the toxic ass pvp community wants it to be.

haha. keep beating the dead horse. the game is dead. downloaded it and tried to go on a mining run and game glitched out when i TP'd and no trees or nothing loaded it. you can crap in one had and wish in another. just be sure to watch what one fills up first
That video was absolute clown shoes and a giant **** you to the few of us still playing this game. I uninstalled. I think they are actively trying to rid themselves of the existing playerbase, and it's working.
All the exp buffs ruined the rpg element to New World imho. RPG is clearly the best element to this game and they screw it over time and time again.
