I've watched this 3 times and learn something every time. I've been playing this the last few days and it's wild how consistent it is. This gets rid of a lot of the variance we dealt with during the Gravecrawler/Creeping Chill/etc builds.
Dack, I just played this list tonight at an FNM and went 2-1. The fun levels were off the charts. T2 Oculus in several games was insane. Got a game where I brought back 3 vengevines on t2 + a souls (another phyrexian tower play). Got a souls up to 14/15! This deck is everything I love about magic, thank you!
Love to see you play this deck! Hope to see you again doing a good work with this one! Im thinking about a Patreon sub to be able to read a good sideboard guide!
For sure, crabvine will never be among popular high tier decks but it is certainly very playable, competitive and now more consistent then ever. Oculus is superb addition to deck.
Cut: one unearth/ 1-2gaze / 1-2 souls of the lost. Souls is great but its card disadvantage on its own and (I’ve played it) feels bad when removed by push
Well it's not high tier deck for sure, but it also requires lot of play experiance to play it optimally. I've done 0-5 in past with some top tier decks, not to mention lower tier decks, so that is nothing strange there. It definately sucks if u play it into bunch of graveyard hate, but when i played it gy hate was pretty low as boros didn't play any on sideboard and others play bad hate like ghost vacuum so you are able to stomp through the league and get lot of free wins. Same way affinity sucks when every1 plays infinite artifact hate and wraths.

love this list, i think i would drop gaze for satoru personally
Dropping 1x gaze, 1x souls is best option imo to fit 2x satoru. Deck still needs enablers, and they are good in, prob best turn1 play.
Maybe some toxic deluge in the sideboard?
Yeah it is option.
Maybe that other 3 mana mass removal is better tho vs energy.

Can this list last over time in the modern metagame?. Hate against the cemetery suffers a lot.. even after the banlist of December 17th.. thanks

Yeah I’ve been thinking about almost exactly this deck + satoru. Without him there’s some tension between unearth and triggering vengeV
yes....there is the risk of running out of cards in your hand..sometimes you draw badly..with satoru you can draw a lot of cards
the problem is what to remove to put satoru

Satoru would be great here if there was room for it, but i can't see it atm.
All other cards in atm seem better.
