The imposter mech copy of esper doesn't have a power when its not crewed, so the trigger would still happen, but you just have to pay 0 to keep them from drawing. Just some quirky rules that even i had to look up. Great game nonetheless.

Caught that about an hour before it went live. Unfortunately, we all work full time jobs and there was no way we had time to correct it.
Exactly what J Rock said, people don’t realize how much time and steps go into these videos. By the time Eli is doing final post and adding all the layers to the video, we’re 30+ hours in. So when there’s a minor mistake like that, we just roll with it and do our best to continue making the best content we can. Thanks for watching though!!

Fun game! I watch a lot of play to win when I started getting into CEDH. Cool to see the collab! Also, had a great time playing spell table with J-rock. It was cool to bumping into you. Hope to see the channel grow! Keep it up!

Im gonna have to say... i was expecting an adnaus from jay rock.. and I think he overused resource just to stop a rhystic.. I just started the vid but lets see who wins this battle!
Why does only one evolution resolved on turn 2? Are you supposed to use one of them to find Rionya cause there is like 4 instant sorceries casted so 4 more etali flips?
I think Cam forgot about the second eldritch. He was on a roll with trigger after trigger and totally forgot. But magic is hard lol

That’s true!!! I found 2 of them with Etali triggers but only resolved the 2nd one I found, I could have used the other one to sac Hellkite and find Rionya (sp?) and probably gotten like, 4-5 more Etali triggers from that. What a shame!!!
@@CamToWin there is a lot going on with multiple Etali triggers and it's easy to lose track online since you don't have the cards in front of you.
J Rock also forgot he could escape Pact of Negation with Breach to push through the Mindbreak Trap. Once he gets LED it's game over
always awesome to see cam and Dylan in a game but I'm here cuz i bump into j-rock on spell table all the time always fun playing with you or watching you play.
Always fun jamming some stress free games…. Testing out jank decks usually…lol

are you planning on adding any mh3 cards to the etali list? i'm thinking nantuko, red flare, and the red/ green mdfc's can all see a home in etali.
I’m sure Cam is planning on tweaking the list with MH3 cards. At the time we recorded this gameplay, previews didn’t start yet
What was stopping J Rock from casting Pact of Negation with Breach on the Mindbreak Trap in game 2? I'm confused cause he cast Mana Crypt right after so I'm not sure why he didn't just Pact
He needed to be able to escape the mana crypt anyways after tutoring for enough mana. So it was either cast pact, not have enough mana to pay for it, and not be able to win, or just escape mana crypt and hope for another shot when it got back around to him
@@backonthestack If Diabolic Intent resolves J Rock wins because LED puts his hand in the grave fueling the rest of the Breach line

They both were actually using the same sleeves!! …. They are both actually sponsored by Dragon Shield, so I have to assume that is what they had
18:00 Why didn't J-Rock recast Pact of Negation using Breach to counter the mindbreak trap?
It WAS an option but It honestly didnt matter. I needed to be able to get that mana crypt out in order to continue my line. I could have used it but I wouldn’t have had the mana to pay for two pacts on my next upkeep.

@@jerrickalsteen3950 what was the line you were considering? bc you had 6 cards in gy at this point. counter the MBT, go to 3 cards, flusterstorm and DIntent go to GY as well, going to 5 cards tutor for LED. Crack LED for BBB, go to 10 cards with the 5 cards in your hand, recast LED go to 7 cards, crack for UUU, recast DIntent sac Kraum and exiling it as an additional cost go to 5 cards in gy, tutor Brain freeze into hand. GG? and still 1 additional pact afterwards as backup
@@SK-hm2ms So despite drawing as many cards as I did, I really didn’t have any win line in hand. I top decked the breach from my Tymna activation and then the wheels started to turn. I needed to leave up extra blue mana because it was known game info that Dylan had silence in hand. So I kind of wanted him to use it sooner than later. I had Thassa’s in hand along with simian spirit guide. The idea was to grab dockside with the tutor, cast it with one from the crypt and the spirit guide. Get a minimum of two treasures. The table ALSO knew that Dylan had endurance in hand, so I wasn’t fealing super confident with that info. I DID however think he may not crack treasures to hang on to them for endurance. In a perfect world I would have been able to tutor a second time for D.Con… I just had to fight through a silence and/or endurance.
I guess in the heat of the moment my mind was so locked on those two “counters” I wasn’t even considering running a full breach/brainstorm line. Oh well…. I still had a blast. But yeah… that was my reasoning.
When Imposter Mech is a copy, it also copies mana value, doesn't it? If so, Eli could have kept his Kraum copy under the Culling Ritual at 16:21. Or am I wrong? Anyways, fine editing! It's the first video I see on your channel and I really like it, especially the players' thoughts on their opening hands.

Can I ask why Cam mulligan'd his Taiga away, keeping the Mesa, only to crack the Mesa for the Taiga in turn 1?
I’m guessing to have a better chance of not whiffing on his on Etali trigger.
It allows for deck thinning so his draws can be better throughout the game. Takes 2 lands out of the decks instead of just one

They got them from dragon shield!
This is a great example of why etali isn't good enough. Deck is super sweet and fun but he went off both games and just fizzled with Nothing to show for it
Cedh is whack lol how often do people really wanna play the exact same cards lol win via the exact same lines. Everyone has esper sents, cyc rifts, bowmasters, dockside, everyone plays infinite solitaire sessions lol tries to win with treasures. Its truly pathetic that this is considered the highest form of edh play as it really seems boring af
It's just streamlined combos and interactions. I think there'd be more variance if there was a midrange stax player steering the game, but it was cool to see Etali have the explosive opening only for Urza to completely shut the game on both rounds.
