      He’s not seeking. They are. If he has a daughter he can relate to her need to see him. If it was her only desire wouldn’t he want that for his baby girl? And you can slam me all you want about “baby girl.” A man’s heart will always be wrapped around his daughter as it was when he first held her on his bare chest, when she let out those tiny little squeaks, as she attempted to focus her eyes on him. As she gazed up at him and at one point tried to grip his finger.

      @@nicelady51 so a patch thats a flag on a uniform is disrespectful ? , you just said it shouldn't be worn but i think your confused , nothing should ever be MADE of a flag maybe but to say it shouldn't be worn is a little to much , people wear it to show they are proud of thier country to me , so if your a veteran and wear it you have every right , you fought for my right to be free so there for people have the freedom to express their love for thier country , maybe if more people showed how proud they are things might be better dont you think ? He was a veteran so he has every right to wear it , he fought for your freedom also he just saved a total stranger so if he wants to wear it as a toga i say he gets a pass , how many people have you saved today ?

    • @nicelady51
      @nicelady51 Рік тому +3

      The patches are allowed on uniforms, but they are to be placed in certain places. I am not mistaken. Clothing fashion as though it was made from a flag, is against proper flag ettiquette. I encourage everyone to take a few minutes to read The American flag code of ethics. Infarctions are not punishable, but to someone that is educated on the matter, seeing someone wearing a do-rag that looks like our flag is an abomination. Strangely, it's veterans that are the worst offenders.

    • @nicelady51
      @nicelady51 Рік тому +4

      @@4486xxdawson I worked in nursing and wiped plenty of veteran's bodily functions to keep them well and fed them so they would not be hungry. My Dad was a proud WWII veteran, Pacific corridor. He was a past President of our local American Legion post, as well as secretary for the same.
      What you said about getting a pass to wear the flag as a toga or anything else is not even subtly ignorant. Display the flag properly so it can fly in all it's glory. Not as a garment to wipe your sweat or go swimming in. Honor it. Love it.
      Teach your children the right ways and be proud of our country. That's what I'm saying. ❤

    Our family appreciates many of the comments expressed for this article and is heartened by much of what we have seen. Thank you. Lexy continues on the long road to recovery; remains in a wheelchair; and has yet to return to her home. As the "at fault" driver had no insurance, no license, etc... her recovery will be complicated. I'm saddened for his family's loss. For the record, we're well aware the "hero" may not want to be recognized; this interview is one way for Lexy to "thank" him, and to highlight a good deed. Spotlighting goodness in humanity and encouraging others to show courage is always a good thing. Thanks to those that rise to such occasions and demonstrate goodness, decency, humanity, humility and courage. We all need to see more of such.

      @@DerakosZrux This story -- from almost three weeks ago -- is the extent of what my family has done to thank the gentleman who saved my daughter's life. We're now occupied with my daughter's extensive medical care and other requirements from such a horrific life-changing accident, and we are not pursing "trying to ID" this hero. Good on him and it's nice to "thank" folks when they do something good for others. This story resonates with many because it highlights something good in life and praise for the courage of a complete stranger who ran toward a burning car to save a young lady he did not know.

Some people just aren't aware of how truly precious our veterans are and the horror a lot of them went through. My Daddy is a Vietnam Veteran and I am so proud of him and I hate what he endured while fighting for our country. It truly breaks my heart to know what that war caused in his life therefore trickling down into our families life. It was hard watching his heart break and his soul tainted with true horror and sadness. He was a alcoholic/Addict my whole life. He started to get help his last 14 yrs he had left in this life. Before he stopped drinking I watched him in flashbacks and nightmares . It was so scary and heartbreaking to watch him replaying things like a movie in his mind and like he was actually there again. He passed in 09 . I miss him every second of a day. I am grateful and blessed that he was sober his last 14 yrs here. I always was super close to my Daddy. I just couldn't deal with him drinking . It was so damn sad and infuriating to me. To watch him be so angry and then so sad. It just was a huge mess of emotions when he drank. It wasn't good for him or anyone around him. In April 2019, I heard - Tell them I am coming soon. Later in the day I heard: There will be a great shaking. When I didn't tell a particular church about it, I got a dream where I was scared. I could hear myself saying: I'll tell them, I'll tell them, I'll tell them. Then I saw a person in the dark with well lit church windows behind him and another person dressed in white walking behind him and up some stairs.
      April 9, 2021, my vision went black for a quick moment, and then I saw in gold letters - Thus saith the Lord. About four hours later, April 10, during my sleep I heard - Prophet. Tell them I am coming soon. Maybe 3-5 min after that, at 1235 AM, our area had a 3.1 eq.

    Could've been an ANGEL. I was in a bad wreck when I was 18 & a grandfather & his grandson - I thought - saved me as well and stayed with me, talking to me & helping to keep me calm until the ambulance arrived. It was Senior Skip Day & a group of us was driving to go float the river when the MVA occurred. When I learned that a classmate of mine was with me the whole time, I asked him about the grandfather & grandson - because I wanted to thank them - he said that there was NOBODY around like that at all! He told me what happened in the wreck & that he sat in the grass next to me until the ambulance arrived. I asked other classmates at the scene & they concurred that nobody was around like that.

    First off and foremost, thank goodness for this guy being there. As to why he left, I have a possible theory-
    In 2015, I saved someone from an overdose and respiratory arrest with narcan and mouth to mouth. I got him a&o x3 and breathing. I left as soon as the rescue pulled up.
    I had warrants.
    Just a thought that this might be the case here, too.
    As a qualifier, I was a medic for seven years, from 99-06. I went off the deep end on drugs after screwed-up surgeries. I've spent a few years in prison for thefts to support a habit. I've been clean for going on a decade.
