He shows how these areas can be reactivated through innovative treatments including neurofeedback, mindfulness techniques, play, yoga, and other therapies.

I love EMDR. It's the first time therapy has started to feel like real healing, and not just venting, ruminating, and struggling to change. EMDR feels like I'm going to the gym for workout sessions with a coach.

Bessel thankfully thoroughly, emphatically & realistically, understands & discusses important traumatic matters such rape & molestation & abuse; which can cause CPTSD - & details how well one type of therapy may work for one trauma but perhaps not another & how some require a few types… his comprehension, honesty & recognition of what ‘said things’ can do are uplifting & inspiring to say the least.. see, he didn’t only write this book for therapists, he wrote it for those who’ve endured trauma!

None of this deals with the root of it, which makes it a bandaid. You have to involve the one who can actually heal it.

Why does every trauma presentation on UA-cam feature a male expert? And now a male cartoon expert? Take a look at the field. The field is nearly all women. WTF? And yes, I do understand KVdK is male. Duh. Not making that point. 20 years ago he was not so sexy and everyone thought this stuff was crazy. Now men are selling his ideas on UA-cam. Not sure that means any patient/clients benefit, though.
