This is a Die Cutting GAME CHANGER! 🤯🙌🏻

- Hi Crafty Friends!
I have a short video for you today and hopefully, it will change the way you use your die cuts when you have multiple colors of card stock. I don't like using anti-static powder on the back of tape when I group my die cuts together, so I found another way to keep like-colored dies together with tape and something you already have at home!
As I mention in the video, perhaps I've been hiding under a rock and many of you already do this, but I just tested it and love using my dies this way now. I don't really have a card tutorial to share but I have a card to show you using the new-to-me technique using these dies from Fantasy Flower from Alex Syberia Designs.
I wound up using just white card stock and used my new Ohuhu alcohol markers to color the floral die cuts. I used a beautiful glitter pen to color in the etched portions of the die cut pieces.
Glitter Pen: amzn.to/3xckrDm
I hope you like this technique and give it a try.

Hi Crafty Friends!
A lot of folks are mentioning they have no clue what I’m talking about when I mention people putting powder on the exposed tape. Jennifer McGuire demonstrates what I’m talking about in this video at the 6:35 minute mark: ua-cam.com/video/Tx2QmQ35k4k/v-deo.htmlsi=iB-p1vt-SaApJ8k4
Let me know if you've tried this, too! Remember you can use other things like toilet tissue, paper towel, thin copy paper, gift wrapping tissue paper, napkins, tracing paper, to name a few. Thanks for watching and happy crafting!
strange that people do not understand, but how great you are helping them understand👍 you are such a fab person
Crafty hugs, my friend! 🤗
Yes I put power on exposed sections to take away the tape stickiness.

THANK YOU! all those tiny flowers and leaves! What a pain to remove them one by one and then they fall to the floor, etc. NOT ANY MORE - thanks to you! Yay!
Agreed! They’re such a pain, aren’t they?! I’ve lost a few myself! 🤦🏼♀️ Thank you for watching! 🥰
Think we must have been under the same rock😂 Been crafting since mid nineties and this is first time of seeing this technique.......such a time saver and easy to do . Thank you for sharing, this is what makes the crafting community such a friendly place. Regards from UK 🇬🇧
HAHAHA! Glad you found it helpful. And thank you so much for watching! 🥰
A huge thumbs up on this! I don't mind powder but I do hate trying to keep track of all the fiddly die set bits. I try to do several cards at a time and those little pieces fall into unknown places, never to be seen again. This keeps them together for die cutting and you only have to do it once! No more lost pieces! Thank you so much.
Same for me! I already lost one of the little dies from the set I showed. It helps to keep them altogether. Thank you for watching! 🤗
Yes, I agree! This will make it so much easier to work with the little fiddly bits that fall apart and get lost. Thanks!
I love that you store them with the tissue. Forever ready to go.
Yes! Exactly…and no messy powder! 🥰
I have been crafting since 1995, I have never seen this tip - what a time saver this will be when cutting dies. Thank you so much - off to try this now...😂
I’m so glad! I’ve been paper crafting for about the same time. Ever since I’ve used dies, it never occurred to me until one day, I had this ah-ha moment. I tested it and couldn’t wait to share it! Thanks for watching! 🥰
Thank you for this fantastic die cutting trick ! I am anxious to try it. I just need to get some good tape like yours!
Going to try this
I've been teach card making for many, many years, and I have NOT seen this hack!!! Thank you so very, very much!!!
Glad it was helpful! I’m so glad you found it and thanks for watching! 🥰
This is amazing. I really like the idea of keeping the dies together.
@@victoriaparis2791 Yes! I agree! Thank you for watching. ♥️
Definitely not under a rock!! I saw somewhere the idea to use dryer sheets for the same purpose and didn’t like it since the chemical coating stained the dies and die cuts!! You are a genius 👏
Aw, thank you! I’ve used dryer sheets too, but that was to help the die cuts pop out more easily. I saw a video years ago with a die manufacturer who recommended that you not use dryer sheets, but instead use release paper designed for helping release intricate die cuts after they’re due cut. I was just looking for something to eliminate the stick of exposed tape instead of using a powder. 🥰
I just wanted to pop on here and say that I tried this method 7 months ago. Yesterday I pulled out that die set and its still going strong. FAB!!
I have never seen anyone with this tip. I sure could have used it a few weeks ago when I was cutting a whole bunch of small fall leaves. This will save so much time in the future. Thank you so much!
@@dottyguynn9786 I’m so glad it will help going forward! 🥰🥰🥰
I do a TON of die cutting, and this is an amazing tip! I can’t wait to give this a try. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
You’re so welcome! ♥️♥️♥️
New to me, Great idea!
What I like also with your excellent tip is that you can keep the dies by colors for the next time. Thank you for sharing.
thanks so much! Yes. They’re ready to go for next time! 🥰
This is genius! Thanks. I've never seen this before and it will help immensely.
I’m so glad it was helpful! 🥰
Kathya, this is new to me and I think it’s awesome. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
You are so welcome! I’m glad I wasn’t hiding under a rock after all! 😂Thanks for watching. 🥰
I’ve been card making about 2 1/2 yrs now & haven’t seen this method. Wish l’d of seen it yesterday as l spent all day cutting for a few different card designs. I’ve used parchment paper which helped on iddy biddy dies, but it goes everywhere & makes a huge mess. Your method is awesome for grouping dies & keeping them together after cutting. I wish more companies would group the tiny dies on one solid piece (as some have started doing), but your method here is awesome for giving the option to do this! Brilliant! So grateful you took the time to share it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼🙏🏻💖
You’re very welcome. It’s definitely a better way to group like-colored metal dies. Going forward, you can try it! 🥰
@@KathyaKalinine You bet your bippy l will!! 😬 (Showing my age now!)
😂😂😂 I’m getting older, too! You’re in good company! 🤗
@@KathyaKalinine I love it! I’m your newest fan! 👍🏼
I am going to give this a try! Brilliant!!! ❤❤
i normally use a second layer of low tac tape on the cutting side, this worked always very well. but i will try this version to see the difference. i guess the tissue paper works even better, because the low tac tape was sometimes not so easy to remove without leaving a bit of sticky residue.
thanks for sharing this tip❤
You are so welcome! It definitely makes a difference! Thanks for watching! 🥰
I’ve been at this over 30 years and this is new to me. Love it and thanks for sharing. I dislike the feel of powder, also🤯❤
Yay! I'm so glad I could help you find a new solution! Big crafty hugs! 😊
new to me - love it!
New to me in my 20+ years of die cutting. What a great tip! Thank you.
Awesome! I’m so glad you found it helpful! 🥰
I have done this a long time…I use press and seal instead of tape and a super thin tissue. Jennifer McGuirre (sorry about spelling) explained this years ago in die cutting videos she made. It is great way to do things especially it you are repeating cuts.
Great idea. Thank you so much!
So innovative! I never realized how often I take the time to tape the same dies in the same arrangement until this technique showed me I can keep them in place without getting sticky tape residue (or anti-static powder) all inside my storage pouch. Thank you for sharing!
Yes, I agree! I couldn’t stand the powder all over the place. Glad you found it helpful! 🥰
Brand new to me !!! Thank you, so pleased you landed on my time❤️👍🏼❤️
You’re welcome! 🥰
Very pretty card!❤ Do whatever method for die cutting that works for you! As long as you get the results you want, go for it! Keep up the good work!
I haven't seen anyone do it either! Very cool!!
You’re welcome! 😍
I, too, have that same problem. (I can't garden either. Not sad about it.) Cool idea! :)
This is a new one to me and a game changer too, particularly for some smaller die sets that I love, but have fiddly bits that keep getting separated. Thank you for this video!
You’re so welcome! I agree…so much easier with tiny die cuts. 🥰
I've never known about this and will help me when cutting tiny dies. Thank you.
You’re so welcome! 🥰
I've seen dies taped together before, but like you-never with a buffer layer. Great idea, and thank you for sharing that. I love your card, it's gorgeous.
Aw, thank you so much! 🤗
I have taped dies also but not like this. This is great, thanks for sharing.
Hi Kathya! New subscriber here from Florida...🌴 Happy to be here to learn all your new tips.... TFS! Hugs Gloria
Hi Gloria! Welcome and thanks for subscribing! Hugs to you, too! 🥰
Wow cool idea thanks!
I saw this before and actually saved it, but forgot about it. I am definitely going to do this.
Great idea.
First time I've seen this technique. Thanks!
Genius!! ❤ I don’t have an aversion to powder, but I do have an aversion to working harder (or tedious) than I have to! Thank you for this - and the gel pen tip, too! New subscriber! 🙋♀️
You’re so very welcome! Thank you for subscribing, too! 🥰
🎉thank you. I have never seen this done before. What a great tip 🎉🎉🎉
You are so welcome! I’m glad it was helpful! 😊
😮 You are a GENIUS!!! Not that I've ever used or seen anyone use powder, but what a brilliant way of not having to deal with tape, over and over again. Now I'm gonna have to die cut something tonight...
Lol! Im no genius, trust me on that one! 😂 But I’m crafty and try to think of ways to improve a process that’s challenging. And this was it. Let me know how it goes! 🥰
I use wax paper. Allows for the dies to not stick to the paper for a while. I’ll try this. Thanks.
❤️❤️❤️ That's brilliant ! Thank you.
You are so welcome! 🥰🥰🥰
It is new to me also - thank you
I love this idea! And I love that once you set it up, you can reuse the next time! Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely!! Glad you enjoyed the tip! 🥰
Game changer! Genius! I can’t wait to try this technique in my craft room ❤
Have fun! Thanks for watching! 🥰
I have done this with my used dryer sheets and it works great. Not sure I have "seen" video about it, but heard about it from a friend.
What a terrific idea!!

Oh my gosh I LOVE this tip! Thank you. I haven’t even seen the ones with powder, but this sounds so much easier and less mess.
You are so welcome! If you check out my pinned comment, I link to one of Jennifer McGuire’s videos where she demonstrates what I am talking about. And yes, LESS mess and a better way to keep the dies together when storing, too. Crafty hugs! 🤗
Wow! That’s a really smart idea. This would be perfect for keeping really tiny dies together once they have been snipped apart. I will definitely be doing this. 🙌🏻

Great idea with the tissue paper! And makes it possible to store the dies this way. Thanks for sharing.

What a great idea. I even like the fact that you store the dies on the paper/tape. No dropping dies. Thank you for your video.
You’re so very welcome! I decided to keep mine together for the ease of die cutting the same colored card stock. Thanks for watching! 🥰
🤯 what a great tip!! I have never seen this before and will be using this method. Smart keeping it like that when you store it
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching, crafty friend! 🥰
What a fantastic idea, especially when you finish with the die. I’m forever loosing dies that fall of the table, great way to keep them together. Thanks for sharing. X
