I have the beautiful Citi AAdvantage Executive card but I honestly not interested in being loyal to any airline. I am happy with the benefits this card provides and my other premium airlines cards (Chase United Club and Amex Delta Reserve). Also, I mostly flight domestic and Caribbean and most of the time I just go ahead and buy First Class tickets (when prices are not outrageous 😊). This is why I have never pursued status with any airline.
That’s fair. I’m not here to preach status on anyone, but many folks do want it, and don’t know some of the shortcuts to get it. Clearly you appreciate some level of status based on those cards you mentioned. Appreciate you watching and the comment!
I'm currently chilling on a road trip and this video popped up. I'm using the AA Hotels portal to book all my hotels, it's slightly pricier than booking directly, but just on the hotel spend over 2 weeks I'm getting about 30,000 points. With the flights I took this spring that should put me just into status. I'm going to take a look at some of your other suggestions to reach a higher tier. Great info!
Awesome! Use that eshopping portal and you’ll be at platinum in no time. Thanks for the comment!
So with using the AA cards you can get 1 LP per $1 spent then whatever the offer is with simply miles and AA shopping portal its 1 for 1? So if simply miles is 2x and AA shopping portal is 3x I am getting 5 miles and LP’s using a non AA card?
I am about to open my first AA card and the miles can go a long way. This video is very informational! I just want to make sure I understand it completely to optimize. I want to see how high of status I can earn through the remainder of the year.
If I fly two times a year, would the Citi AAdvanatage Executive card be better than the Platinum Elite? Is it wise to have both? Is the Citi AAdvantage Executive card better than the AMEX Platinum knowing that I primarily fly AA?
Not sure any airline card is worth it if you fly twice per year, def not a high annual fee card. Platinum elite gets you free checked bags.. executive also does, plus group 4 boarding. Still, I’d recommend a general travel card vs airline specific
Congrats on 500!
Thanks Lani!
I think of the CITI AA EXEC as pretty much AAdvantage Gold as well. If the card offered priority baggage handling that would be 🔥🔥🔥Thanks for the tips + info + video!
Thanks for watching! If only they would treat our bags kindly.. I think most of the premium airline cards are worth it if you check bags on 3+ fights a year..plus the admirals clubs are a solid fallback option if nothing else is available or if you are traveling with family.
Nice breakdown. I live in Delta, but still nice info to know. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching! I’m eyeing a delta card as well..been flying them a bit more lately.
Wow just as I thought I knew all the methods to earn AA miles!! I thought Rocketmiles got rid of AA partnership so I didn't even know about this. This AAdvantage hotels make it sooooooo easy to earn AA loyalty points! OMG it's almost too easy. 15000 miles for a couple of nights of stay?!! Well I don't have any status (just AA Credit card for now) so not in this year but hopefully I will get some status this year. And Next year I will receive those higher miles. Just wow. Thank you Beau.
BTW your channel should be way bigger than 500 subs. Love all your content!
Kevin - wow, man thank you for the kind words. Just sharing my experiences and hope to help out others. AA dining is another method to earn miles and LP’s. You can link your normal go-to restaurant card and stack the earning.
Glad it was helpful - holler with any questions!
Such a great video!
Thank you! Tried to hit on a few strategies that I know and use, but there’s definitely more. Appreciate you watching!
With the citi executive card, can I bring my husband, my children and my mom in all at once? I am asking because my mom is not considered immediate family and the card. If she is considered as a guest, the card said immediate family members or two guests, which seems to suggest that she is not allowed if I bring my immediate family members
Really good question. Tbh I’m not sure since I’ve never taken my folks in with me. You may need to call AA on this one, or check Reddit forums. If she’s on the same reservation, my guess is they’d let her in.
Heard about you from Chad's Money Minutes. Enjoyed the video and a new subscriber. Continued success
Awesome! Thank you and welcome. Holler at me with any questions. Chad is the man!
Great video Beau!! Thanks for sharing the bask bank info. I was unaware of this method to earn some AA points.
Glad it was helpful! Appreciate you watching!
Nice breakdown. Point staking can add up. I hadn’t heard of cash back monitor before this 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment! Crazy how many LP’s / miles you can earn for one hotel stay at an ‘off brand’
Can you repeat The Motley Fool offer yearly?
From my understanding, it’s once per loyalty account number, so no. Best believe I’ll try it though!
