I get sooo many miles from using AA eshopping , don’t miss out
AAdvantage is the most straightforward reward program of the Big 3. I agree with ya that it's the best one when compared against Delta and United. Hope ya get to EXEC Platinum!✈
It's still confusing.
Excellent Imformacion
Great info
Thanks, interesting
Thank you for the info. Let me ask you a question.
Can we get the loyalty points and award miles from the air ticket which we purchase by "redeem miles"?
You would only earn miles on flights purchased with cash
Thanks!!
Hello! Thank you for the video! I'm new to AA, just got both Aviator cards (personal and business) so its a total of 60k+80k points. I also have an existing AA flights booked to europe and back in october. Would I be able to upgrade my (non basic - main cabin economy tickets) to business class tickets with my miles? possibly with some cash on top? If yes, how and mainly when should I be calling in to do so? Thank you!
We have seen upgrade offers for cash within the AA app. I did come across this page with a point chart to upgrade seats. I would call to see what the process is, let us know how it works

The miles bonuses you get for signing up for a card do not contribute to your status
Quick Question: With the upgrades, do they apply for any OneWorld Airline, or only when flying on American?
You do receive status benefits when flying other One World Airlines, it just depends on the airline what you receive
Hi, I just join on it and I have the Aadvantage pass on the apple wallet, what’s the function? Do I scan it on the airport before boarding and that way I will get points?
You will receive miles whenever you book a flight and include your AAdvantage number on the booking details. I have never had to scan mine personally but it is a convenient way to find your number if an agent needs it.
To get gold status I would need to spend $30000 in a year on an AA advantage card? Is this a calendar year or card member year
You would need to earn 30,000 points total. Most AAdvantage cards have a 2x multiplier. You will also earn 5x for every dollar spent directly with AA, if you use a card that gets 2x then it would be 7x for every dollar you spend on flights. Also it is calendar year not card year
So I flew with American Airlines in last summer but did not received any miles on my account. Did I had to let them scan anything at the check in or should it work automatically?
When booking the flight you would want to make sure it is linked to your AAdvantage account. With American Airlines and most airlines you will only receive points if it is a cash flight not booked with points
Hi, can I join the AAdvantage program without applying for a credit card, and just accumulate points flying? And will I be able to redeem those points later for other flights? Sorry if my question is very basic, but I don’t know much about this. Thanks
Yes to all of the above. The program is made for frequent fliers You do not need to have an AAdvantage card, but they are great ways to get a lot of extra points especially the aviator red card that all you need to do is make one purchase to get 60,000 points
@@TravelHackers thanks 🙏
I thought Platinum pro also has free same day flight changes
Yes it does 👍
I got a question, I downloaded the American Airlines app since it will be easier to use when travel than using my email, so can you have an AAdvantage account without the credit card?
Yes you can have an AAdvantage account without having one of their credit cards. The AAdvantage platinum card waves the annual fee the first year and has a 50,000 mile signup bonus and the Aviator Red card has a 60,000 signup bonus just for using the card. If you travel with American Airlines I would consider one of those cards.
@@TravelHackers thank you sir
Other videos talked about base points v loyalty points. Are those still around?
You earn miles to use to redeem for travel and loyalty points are earned for your status. Every loyalty points you earn you also earn miles
Thank you for this video, I have a question.
One you achieve a certain status level. Is there something you need to do to keep your status every year? Will your status drop at the end of the year when your miles expire?
Thank you for the help!
Thanks, you have to earn status every year. The status you earn this year you will have for all of 2023
I am new to AAdvantage and have a AAdvantage Aviator card. How do I show that I am a member to the airlines so that I can get some perks? Would just showing my credit card work? If so, how do they know what level I have?
Your AAdvantage account should be linked to your Aviator card. Both me and my wife received the aviator card at the same time. Her account automatically linked I had to call AAdvantage customer service to have it linked.
@@TravelHackers thank you
American Airlines ripped me off of nearly 10,000 miles. Round Trip LAX-SYD is 14,976. AA credited me only 10,884 miles...net loss of 4,092 miles. I also flew Round Trip LAX-AUH is 17,358, AA credited me only 11,884...net loss of 5,474 miles. Just in two trips I was shorted 9,566 miles in the span of three weeks. I called AAdvantage Program and they said loyalty points/miles is based on fare - not miles??? How is this not misleading? Class Action Lawsuit forthcoming?
So do segments matter anymore or miles? Or is is just the money you spend now
Now just the money you spend
Can I join aadvantage program without applying for their credit card ?
Yes you can
If I get gold status does my family get upgraded as well?
You will have the ability to upgrade one companion
How do I join?
You can sign up aa.com
If I get an AA card and spend $1 I get 6 loyalty points?
It depends on the card and the category of spending. Check out this video where we go over all of the AA credit cards

Which is the BEST AAdvantage Credit Card???

I'm currently Platinum with 266.000 miles. As of today AA says I have 0 Loyality Points and need 125,000 Loyality Points to upgrade to Platinum Pro. I'm confused. So I have to start all over again and get 125,000 to upgrade to Platinum Pro? Shouldn't it just be 50,000 "Points", the difference between Platinum and Platinum Pro?
American Airlines changed their rewards starting march 1st. On their site it says that the points you earned in January and February will show up later in March, but you do need to qualify for status every single year.
www.aa.com/i18n/aadvantage-program/aadvantage-status/aadvantage-status.jsp
Same here… I was 95% done to get to platinum pro. I should have around 117,000 LP it only shows 17,000. I swear if they don’t give me my 95% I will stop flying with them because the only reason I was flying just with them was just for the EQMs. This is not fair, I mean I only need like one more flight round trip and I would’ve been done. This is borderline theft!
@@juanvidal8404 I hear you. I had just completed all my EQDs and my next few flights this year would have brought me over my EQMs. I feel like I've been stabbed in the back. Grrrrrr........
@@juanvidal8404 I had an argument with them about this the other day and they essentially told me "too bad" spent four hours on the phone with a total of five different reps + sent an email and an insta dm (lol). Maybe they'll cave if enough people are pissed but at the moment, they seem to be telling loyal customers to screw off if they were close, because close isn't good enough.
Is American paying you?? Their Loyalty points is ridiculously high - almost unachievable. That is just ungrateful for their devoted customers of over 20 years!!! in order to maintain my Platinum Pro I need to spend $125,000 per year. Their Flight+ Segents or amount per year was more realistic
I wish American was paying me
