- Malaysia on Monday launched a blistering attack on Israel for disrespecting the United Nations as the country’s ambassador, Dr. Ahmad Faisal, demanded a probe INR the war crimes being committed in Gaza.
Dr. Faisal was speaking at the 51st plenary meeting, Tenth emergency special session of the UNGA days after 143 countries voted in favour of Palestine’s full membership. Nine including the US voted against while 25 including the United Kingdom abstained.
I’m a Malaysian Chinese. You don’t have to be a Muslim to support Palestinians, you just have to be a human!
I prefer to be something else but human. I don't like humans anyway and prefer birds, butterflies, dogs, cats etc.

I have been wearing Pro-Palestine t-shirt going about my daily activities, I was sneered at on public transportation by Israeli man, with my photo taken by his cellphone, and I was flipped the bird dining in restaurant when seen wearing such t-shirt, but that didn't frightened me, it only reconfirmed that I have done something RIGHT. It's easy to be wrong, and NEVER EASY to be right. I went back and bought more so I can wear it everyday. Palestinians paid with their own lives, how miniscule the threats I faced when compared to what it had costed our Palestinians brothers and sisters'.

The term "Palestinian" was not used until the 1960s, thanks Yasser Arafat the Egyptian. They did not identify as Palestinians until then, just arabs. Palestine was termed via the Romans after they crushed the Jewish revolt. The real Palestinians, the Philistines, were European sailors who settled in modern day Gaza. The title itself was misleading. Well done, Malaysia, for not only standing up for Palestine but for doing so with eloquence and undeniable facts. Dr. Ahmad Faisal's speech at the U.N. was a call for justice. It's high time the international community took a firm stand on the issue of Palestine, and Malaysia is leading by example. The world needs more leaders who speak truth to power and demand action for peace and humanity.
The empty seats at the UNGA during such a critical discussion on Palestine are disappointing. It’s concerning to see the lack of engagement from some nations when it comes to global crises. The international community must do better in showing up and standing up for what is right.
Dr. Faisal’s speech should be a wake-up call for all nations to reevaluate their roles in supporting fairness and humanitarian aid.
This session of the UNGA reveals much about the current state of international politics. While some countries shy away from their responsibilities, Malaysia is pushing the envelope, urging the world to look into the war crimes in Gaza. The U.N. must heed this call and act accordingly.
Every nation that values justice and human rights should take a page from Malaysia's playbook. Supporting Palestine's full membership in the U.N. is a step towards fairness and peace in the region.

The one positive thing that came out of this whole tragedy and injustice is that interest in Islam has increased. The level of strength, empathy and kindness shown by muslims are to be admired.
