What kits have you put together for freezer meals? These are fun to do and very convenient. Here is the video of the pizza kits.ua-cam.com/video/oepukewLDrY/v-deo.html&t
Just scoop the pasta out of the sink add to a colander a d give a rinse under warm water no need to throw it out why you throw it out your sink was clean
Kimmy, honey, you HAVE to take care of yourself. It's such a busy time in your life, trying to homeschool, UA-cam, television, planner business....I don't pertained know you, but worth that you're wearing yourself down, not sleeping and trying to do ALL the things. Please hire some help in whatever form you need it and I'll be praying for you, sister in Christ. BTW love your freezer meal videos too!🧡
I'm a knife peeler. It's how my grandma taught me to peel potatos and other root veges way back when I was 7. That would have been 1979. She also taught me to cut and cube in my hand. It's rare I use a cutting board for anything other than meat.
My Granny taught me the same thing! I also cut and cube in my hand - especially eggs. She also showed me how to peel an apple with a perfect one piece ring!
I cut and cube in my hand as well. Potatoes and boiled eggs were the first things my grandma taught me. I do pretty much any vege and quite a few fruit that way. I don't like doing dishes and if I use my hands I don't have wash cutting boards. I have changed one thing though and that's I use nitrile gloves because of eczema. I love cooking the old ways. It just seems more like home. It brings me close to my mom and grandma even though they have been gone since 1992.
Meal planning has been a life saver for me. We end up running so much when my husband is home from work and if I do not plan we end up spending a small fortune on take out
Great video! I bought one of those pasta pots. I love it. There is no need to use a strainer as you are cooking in one! The inner pot IS a strainer. You could have saved 2 kits right there. Next time, only use the pot strainer to drain your pasta. It works perfectly! Now time to go watch more of your videos!!
Peeler. I made chix bone broth yesterday from a rotisserie chicken from Sam's club. My husband takes all the meat off and everything else goes into the instapot strainer for 120 minutes with some onion, a carrot and celery. Also add 2 teaspoons cider vinegar to help draw the collagen from the bones. Yummy.
Kimmy, you crack me up 😂! Love your sense of humor ! Because of your videos I now have a 3 month food supply pantry & will probably expand to 6 month. Also have learned to do freezer meals because of you. Thank you so much !,,
I know about the containers versus the bags. I save so much more space using the bags than containers. I have done both. My freezer prep is using part of the meals I make myself and freezing part of that. It's the best way for me being one person in my household. You do have some great tips I have used.
Freezer meal is planned for Monday Labor Day.. I took a week off from work to get my garden harvested and preserved, freezer meals done, canning sausage and ground beef.. also making a months worth of homemade bread, along with new appliance delivery and also de-cluttering the bedroom, kitchen and pantry

I use a peeler for carrots. I wash the potatoes and peel them with a knife. The peels I fry them in vegetable oil and surf it as chips. Thank you for the awesome videos
Lightly char the peppers to give them a smoky flavor before you freeze them, either the whole pepper if you have a gas stove (you can lay them right on the grate over the flame but watch them close and turn with tongs) or you can spread the slices (include onions if you want) on a sheet pan and broil them until they start to char.
My dog is very nervous like that. I have him on trazodone which is a MIRACLE for anxious pets. Also not expensive. My vet prescribes and I get it thru Chewy delivered to my door, game changer.
It depends on the peeler really. I have a really slow one that Ive had for years but with two knife things off Amazon that we bought we got two free peelers and they work really well and fast so I now use the peeler. Love you and your show
Years and years ago I bought a Rada knife pack that included a vegetable peeler. I LOVE that thing! I use my peeler, way faster and easier on my hands than a knife. Personal preference, lol! 😉
One tip I have for fast tacos is to buy pico de Gallo .. it has tomatoes/onions/cilantro and lime usually. So it's a fast easy way to get a lot of toppings in one purchase. Great video ! Thanks for sharing
When you wash rice, put it in a bowl with a little water and rub the rice between fingers, then empty milky water. To cook rice I do 1 volume rice to 2 volumes water. And I use the same cup for measuring both. Put the lid on rice and cook on 5 for 15 minutes without lifting lid. Et voila ❤️

@@DCARA06 I usually wash off the outside, then flip them inside out so that when I wash them, I know I cleaned the inner folds well. Freezer meals are the bomb. Frozen meatloafs and frozen bakes beans are a great start to a meal. I do baked oatmeal and freeze it for breakfasts. I am going to try some sausage gravy in the next couple of weeks and see how it freezes.
I prefer to use a knife for peeling potatos. If you drain the fat from the meat you can use it for making a gravy. Love the way the dog is waiting for you to drop something ( hope you do lol) . The taco sauce can be cling film wrapped to prevent spillage. I did notice you didn’t add the pizza sauce but thought perhaps it would have came from a opened jar in fridge or something.
You could put your sour cream and your salsa in snack baggies and just snip the corner off and use as a pastry bag for easy distribution on your tacos. (I know, it's more plastic bags lol)
I love the Taco Kits! Relax, you did great!! I've always loved your Pizza Kits. And I know we have all had our "Pasta? Not going to happen today" days with something! I totally love buying the already cooked chicken, (we call it Pickn' Chicken). for one thing its still cheaper to get it like this already cooked than cooking one yourself. But I like to do what your doing, pick all the chicken off the bone, then cook the bones and skin to make my own chicken broth for soups, stews. It comes in handy if I'm out of stock or broth. At a minimum have 4 large containers of homemade broth ready to go in the freezer.
@@darlenem4940 if you dont have mason jars, you can use the tall restaurant containers. Another tip is the rectangle freezeable containers by ziplock or pour into muffin tin and freeze the whole tin. Pop out the pucks and store in bag. Each puck is half cup of broth.
If you started with a clean sink, you could have just took that pasta out n put it back in the bowl. Haha..if it were me, I would have just rinsed it with hot water and put it back in the bowl if the meat was going in the kit with that pasta, I would've just put it in the bag together. Bless you lady. I even save the water from boiling the water and use it to thicken sauces and soups..

Bake them until they are almost soft (need firmness for cubing or slicing; waxier potatoes are best); wrap them in a damp clean towel until just cool enough for you to handle. The jackets should slip off. Get a Rubbermaid basin that fits in your sink then place your strainer in the basin and pour the pasta into the strainer; helps prevent spillage into sink and allows you to retain the pasta water for your sauce or to use in soup.
fab video Kimmy loves the kit ideas, would definitely do this going to the hospital for surgery in just over two weeks, so going to plan ahead for the family. love to all xxx
LOL! That dog. I have 2 cats like that. One is a kitten, about 9 months, and the other is 3 years. They will take turns laying on my mat in front of the sink. Such a great video. You know, sometimes you need plastic bags. I will wash the ziplock bags if they aren't super messy or have raw meat in them. P.S. I am the same way, just keep it simple but I just have to do more and more and more. Is it a New England thing? I love Lives little thingz. Correna is a great lady. Smart kids too. :)
I use a potato peeler just like I use a knife. I know I see so many people using the peeler where they cut away from them but I don't feel like I have control over it that way. I saw someone use one like you would use a knife and a light bulb went off over my head. LOL New favorite way!
basmati rice are supper easy and simple to cook on stove top. All you need to do is 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water on the stove top stair it occasionally. You can if you want add 1 table spoon of olive oil or ghee so that they don’t stick together, but anyway even if you don’t add any oil they won’t stick. Turn off gas when there is still little bit of water and keep it cover for another 5 to 6 mins and then stares it one more time. And u r done with rice. 😊
We do rice all the time but it stuck to the bottom of our pot no matter what so we got a stainless steel bowl to put inside the instant pot and it works sooo good
It took me a while to convert to a potato peeler, I use it like a knife I can’t use the short strokes, and it waste less potatoes. I just guide it around, try it you’ll like it.
I am always scared I will take a chunk of skin off with a peeler! For years I have just been throwing the potatoes in the instapot and peeling them after. Much easier! Also, I have a beagle that will sit in our laundry room next to the kitchen til we drop something! Also helps himself to any food close enough on the edge of the counter to grab it and take off! I was fixing my sons turkey one day, turned my back and the dixie plate was gone. He had me second guessing myself whether or not I even cut any meat! Then I saw the dixie plate on the floor! He was long gone! We do love the little thief! He gets around crawling on his belly most of the time! Supposed to be a trait in beagles! Keep up the great shows and give that puppy dog a kiss for me!
I have never injured myself with a peeler. (I am nursing a booboo from grating my thumb with my cheese grater though.) There are two types of peelers. I find the T type to be better for long veggies like carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, and large russet potatoes. The other type is better for round things like apples or large red potatoes. Small things keep their skins because it’s too much hassle for peelers and for paring knives.
We haven't had fajita's in a very long time, boy watching your video made me want to make some up! I just use whatever bell peppers I happen to have on hand or what is cheapest in the store. Right now I have some beautiful green bells fresh and some yellow frozen. I'm thinking chicken fajita's sound great for dinner tonight! 😋
I use a knife to peel the potatoes, if I need to peel them. Yup we getting roasted chicken too. One medium chicken cost $12.00 nz and it lasts us for 3 days, including the dog. The bones get thrown out. I shut my freezer off, it was leaking water, got to buy a new one.
How about freezing your sour cream and salsa in ice cube containers instead of these small cups. Pop them out and put in bag when completely frozen and take what you need some.
I’m 81 years old and have been freezing from before you were born!😂😘 looks like peeps have too much money🤦🏻♀️ Just wait till we have a food shortage and hopefully we don’t have an Electric shortage.🤦🏻♀️🙏🏻

I love meal kits and freezer meals. Especially when you need to use something close to expiration in your food storage. Perfect solution!
Oh Kimmy! I need to remember KISS to sometimes! Throughout this video I just wanted to jump through and give you a hug and help you out in the kitchen. I hope you had a big long sleep after this. Much love from Australia!

Great idea to soak up beef oil with a paper towel! I am always trying to drain it or scoop it out and it's a nightmare. Thank you!! Your dog is so cute!!!
LOL Do not waste the pasta! rinse and use..i bleach my sink before and after use for this reason. Not going to lie tho, on occasion i did not and it still is fine.
She did mention that she had just put the cooked hamburger meat down the drain, and if one is in the middle of meal prepping, one isn’t going to stop and bleach out the sink.
Fantastic video! I love the pizza and taco kits you do...comfort food at its finest 🙂 Thank you for all your hard work. God bless you and your family! Knife peeler, all the way, lol!
The ziploc bags are completely recyclable! Here in california, a lot of stores have a recycle bin for them. They can't go in a regular house recycle can. I collect them in a grocery bag that is also only recyclable in the store collectable containers. If you recycle, that's something to look into.

I have learned so much from watching your videos. You have gave me some good ideas.
basmati rice are supper easy and simple to cook on stove top. 😊
Love that Taco kit and also the Fajita kit. Gave me an idea to make some meals kits for my sons. Thanks for the inspiration.
We do rice all the time but it stuck to the bottom of our pot no matter what so we got a stainless steel bowl to put inside the instant pot and it works sooo good
Put a little water in the pan and cover when hamburger is frozen. Doesn't take long to thaw it so you can crumble it up.
Kimmie darling you've got to stop stressing yourself so much! Remember it's not about perfection 💞
I'm a flip.flopper too. My partner hates it 😭 so many good ideas will deffo do this. Much love from the U.K x
I like the taco one
I usually do not peel things. I use the skins on potatoes. I also usually use red potatoes
I peel potatoes with a knife, I loved this segment it was fun , keep videos coming 👍🏼
I use a peeler but Jason usually uses a knife. Thanks for the mention sweet friend! Keeping it simple is important 😀
I'm a knife peeler. I just feel more in control with using the knife. My mom always used a peeler and can't understand how I can use a knife. 🤷♀️ Thank you for another great video.
Omh. I’m exhausted just watching you do this. My limited energy means I no longer pre make meals. I do freeze extra portions of nightly meals for my freezer meals
Great idea to soak up beef oil with a paper towel! I am always trying to drain it or scoop it out and it's a nightmare. Thank you!!
Your dog is so cute!!!
How cool and fun! Hope you enjoyed sharing your skills that way :) Always love your freezer meal/cooking videos!
I hope you got some sleep!! Thank you for all the great ideas.
All kits helpful and the tips were very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
For fajitas I buy a bag of frozen peppers and onions at the store to add to mine
@@wildshadowstar Yes i saw that after i commented. She is super clean so i found it funny. This ONE would bleach as it takes a moment tho! ; )
I use both for potatoes
Fantastic video! I love the pizza and taco kits you do...comfort food at its finest 🙂 Thank you for all your hard work. God bless you and your family! Knife peeler, all the way, lol!
Awww! She does the frog legs laying🐾❤️🐾
The ziploc bags are completely recyclable! Here in california, a lot of stores have a recycle bin for them. They can't go in a regular house recycle can. I collect them in a grocery bag that is also only recyclable in the store collectable containers. If you recycle, that's something to look into.
