Evaporated milk works well as a heavy cream replacement in most cases. I always keep it on hand because of it's longer shelf life since I don't usually keep heavy cream on hand.

Handy tip: When I am trying to get the last of any sauce out of a bottle or jar, I add like a quarter cup of water to it and shake it to get the leftover sauce. Then I pour it out into my dish and add another tablespoon more water and shake that.
I find this method empties out almost every last drop of the sauce from the bottle 😊

It must be something in the fall weather that has many of us thinking the same way. Make ahead meals and make our lives easier as we get busy this fall. I even make multiple loaves of homemade bread, mini loaves of zucchini bread and 3 grape streusel coffee cakes. I did 6 quarts of zuppa toscana soup, 20 breakfast burritos and 20 chicken and black bean burritos. I then ran out of freezer space. We did 24 beef pasties last week and those hog a lot of freezer space. 😊 When I have more room I can't wait to try your chicken taquito recipe first. Then I will work my way through the rest of your recipes.

I love lasagna (and so does the family) but I hate making it, so I cheat and just do lasagna roll ups. It is probably the same amount of work or more (who knows), but works for us 😉) I just do meat in the sauce then ricotta, Parm, mozz blend with cookie scoop and smear on individual noodles roll and add to dish pour sauce all over and add more mozz on top.

    Hey there!
Regarding *_using up condiments_* like that mustard and salsa:
You can _fully_ use up /empty out them by adding a bit of water and vinegar (or milk, if you like and that suits) and shake it up.
Esp. for cooking that's a great method.
(For sandwiches you have to be careful with the amount of water you add, of course. 😅)

FYI.... I saw a commercial for storage bags with a flat bottom. They must be new. They would make our bag filling easier. I saw the commercial Jan. 2024.
Thanks for all your GREAT recipes and ideas.

Use an empty #10 can to hold your gallon bags open. Super sturdy, large opening, and inexpensive. If you use a side-cutting can opener, there’s no sharp edges.

For cream of mushroom soup, you should try Magnolia Table’s recipe from book 3 (as well as the cream of chicken, stock, and a couple others)…it is SO GOOD! And easy when you have mushrooms that need to be used. The other ingredients are things you’d usually have anyway! New viewer-LOVE your channel!!!

Fascinated with the coconut oil. I need to put mine in the microwave to just get a icecream scoop through it. It lives in a cupboard too not the fridge. Colder climates.😊

What a great selection of dishes! Some I have seen, some I have made and some fantastic new ones. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us ideas for freezer meals.
I have made the traditional Ricotta/spinach stuffed shells, but never thought of them having a taco twist. Sounds good!

just a tiny comment for other 2 person or small households. just as Christine uses the freezer containers that work for HER family of 6; use freezer containers that work for YOU. for me her recipes make many more meals than for her family. freeze on everybody!!

I once went to shake a glass bottle of ketchup like you were doing and I didn't know but the lid was not screwed on. I was on a cruise ship in the dining room and I splattered ketchup all over the ceiling and wall like a crime scene. Thanks for the video!

You can use your canning jar lifter as a bag holder too. Much more stable than the bag holders. Also just an FYI don't know if you added the ring to your canned tomatoes for filming purposes but you shouldn't store home canned stuff with the rings on them😊. Love your videos. I'm a big fan ❤😊❤😊
