I love watering manually early in the morning. But I'm sure once you get an in ground system it's worth it. Solid accessory to come with the new crib. Have fun!
I did enjoy moving sprinklers around at the old house but it would have been extremely difficult to do that on this size lawn. I would have had to pick a section of my lawn that I wanted to look the best if I didn't have an irrigation system.
I wish I had an irrigation system. I just scarified and overseeded for the first time and it would make my life way easier rather than dealing with hoses and sprinklers. I did buy one of those programmable sprinkler timers and it's pretty nice to have! I'm definitely having an irrigation system installed when I build a house.
Our previous house did not have an irrigation system either. Once I figured out where the sprinklers had to go at the old house, there was something about that process that I enjoyed. It's definitely a luxury to have an irrigation system. For the new lawn if it didn't have an irrigation system, I'd just have to pick a section of the lawn that I'd want to try to keep looking good year round because it wouldn't be realistic to water this 9000sqft lawn with hoses and sprinklers. Good luck with your seeding project this year!
You got very lucky finding a detailed map and controller instructions. My system wasn't used in many years and the sprinkler were buried. It was a hell of a project trying to find them all.
I've only turned on a system for the spring a few times and this year I've found my system wants to run each zone three times for reasons that I can't figure out. It worked fine last year, can't come up with a reason why it would all be different this go around. :/ This reminds me though, I need to make a detailed map of my system just for reference.
I wish I could provide some assistance for you but I don't have much experience with irrigations systems so I'm not sure. It sounds like there may be something wrong with the control panel. That'd be my guess. I would not have thought to create a map if I didn't find this one. It's definitely going to come in handy. Good luck this year in the lawn.
@@TheLawnGuardian yeah, I wouldn't expect a diagnosis over the comments, I'm actually thinking I may have to employ a local technician to troubleshoot the problem. I like figuring things out myself but I don't do good with electrical work.
@@TurfMechanic I'm right there with you. I think that's a smart decision. "So that's a good....that's good" Haha, awesome video dude, Its always interesting to see how systems are laid out, gives me some good ideas for my eventual system
hahaha! Yeah I'm not always the best at articulating my words on the spot. I'd be really interested to see you make a in ground irrigation system. That would make for some good content. Thanks for watching Derek.
Hey Ben thanks for doing this video since this whole pandemic thing my newly installed irrigation system (which I haven't seen it run yet) company won't come out to start it up so could you do a video on a justing the heads in case mine aren't tuned in thanks
@@TheLawnGuardian no problem please make it detailed for the ones who have no idea where to start even a video for end-of-season shut down would be awesome also
Thanks! For the most part everyone takes care of their lawns very well in this neighborhood. There are a few zoysia lawns that aren't out of dormancy yet.
Lawn looks good you got lucky
Yes we got really lucky with this lawn. Just hoping to continue improving it!
I’m jealous 😆
It's definitely a luxury to have an irrigation system. We're very lucky to have this lawn.
Seems like the designed the zones perfectly. 👌
Agreed!
The previous owners are the hero of this story! A detailed map and the controller instructions left for ya. That’s gold.
I 100% agree.
Looks like you got a good irrigation setup! Lucky!!!
For sure! It would be extremely challenging to keep this size lawn irrigated without a system.
Wish ours had a map left with it! Love your Mary statue by the way. :)
Thank you!
Nice video. Good to see a nice ol’ Sprinkler System.
Thanks, Aiden! We're lucky to have this system in place.
One of my favorite sounds of spring...sprinklers😎👊
Ditto, my friend.
Loving your vids lately man. 👌🏽
Thank you, sir!
Great vid! #EnjoyTheMow
Thanks!
Wish I had a blueprint of my system, you lucky dog. Great candid video!
Thanks, man. You could always make a video about creating one!
Wow your in business ! I’m jealous.
It's definitely going to help keep this size lawn easier to maintain.
I just had my system turned on yesterday.
Nice! I hope it's all running well coming out of winter!
What is the white thing above your backflow preventer?
It's part of the radon mitigation system in our house.
Super awesome that you got a map with the details! 😎 need to get it laminated though.. 😂
For sure! I was thinking it needed to be laminated or put in a page protecter as well.
What a bonus a house with a sprinkler system. And a map of where all the zones are.
For sure! I'm beginning to realize they were probably as detailed oriented as I am. Thanks for watching, Grace! It's always good to see your comments.
What is a sprinkler system? Lol. Looks like you have a good setup there
Thanks! 😀

This reminds me, I need to swap out my heads for rotators. The current ones I have mist so hard it all just blows away.
Good luck! I've already replaced a few heads that weren't working properly.
Did u do it yet

I was waiting with such anticipation to see if that would blast you on the second one 😂 pine and needles!!
That's exactly what I was trying to do! Success!
Don't let that map get wet. Scan it in and back it up in the cloud. Store the original in a dry place.
Great idea. That's on my to do list. Thanks for watching! Have a great 4th of July weekend!
Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner! So jelly, I'll be doing an above-ground system for the first time this year. Let's see how bad I mess this up! lol
That sounds like a fun project. I'll be sure to tune in to see it.

I think I will too, Sounds good!
