- After our long Winter's here in Sioux Falls it will soon be time to get your Sprinkler System turned on. This video will walk you through it step by step to help make sure you get it done right!
My careless husband forgot to turn on the sprinkler system before he left for his trip out of country. I found the valves outside have been left open position during winter though the indoor valve from main line is closed. I wonder how to turn on the sprinkler system since the weather begins hot. My question: shall I close the outdoor valves first before I turn on the indoor valve? What happens to the air trapped in the pipe if I turn on the indoor valve? I’m worried about the air pressure trapped in the pipe which might burst the pipe. I will appreciate anyone’s advice.😂
You'll be ok. Go ahead and close them and then turn the water on insude the house and then open everything up. The air will release through the valves when you run the system
@@specializedpropertycareThanks so much for your kind and quick advice! You save my lawn! 😊😊👍
Thanks excellent instructions
Any idea why Zurn Wilkins 702A reversed their outlet line to the left instead of the right? It will be a pain to replace my older Wilkins.
Super annoying for sure. Just take the valve apart and flip it. Kind of a pain but will get the job done
@@specializedpropertycare so I can just take the fittings off and effectively tighten or loosen them 180 degrees so the valves would be to the front?
@@Scottvidas in a nut shell. Normally won’t leak but if it does just take fitting all the way off and apply so thread tape and you should be good to go.
Thank you so much, i really appreciate it. I highly dislike other videos and their instructions. Your video was perfect. I will see if i can navigate your channel and see how i can support you buy shedding somw dollars your way.
Thank you!
I can't even use pliers to open those valves. Stuck in 45 degree position. Help.
Awesome video, I have a very slow leak on the very bottom of the unit. I have a twist on cap rather than a knob/valve like the one in the video. Any idea what’s that called? Maybe I need a tighter cap as this thing reminds me of the end of a rubber stem on a tire.
Thank you!! Just fixed my sprinkler system
That is awesome! Your welcome
This was the best video for startup. I live in Colorado so don't have the spigot or cap on the bottom. I have such a thing in the house on the pipe for the sprinkler that I drain every fall after winterization. Thanks for the great help!!!
Thank you!
