It is very simple, and as fast or maybe even faster than using a longarm! It has such a familiar and relaxing feel to the quilt, kind of like wrapping up in a grandmother's hug 🥰
I hand tied my first quilts. Then I got a machine with a walking foot and graduated to straight line quilting. Now I have a longarm and am learning how to use it, but it's slow going. Thank you
I love hand tied quilts! There's something so comforting about them. I usually use my mom's longarm because I feel they are more secure for lots of washing and I prefer the finish. My mom has her first hand tied quilt that is over 25 years old and it's still in perfect condition aftwr many years of love! We just pulled it out to look at it on Saturday.
Thank you for showing the surgeon's knot. A great idea. I was interested in seeing your knot technique. I would have tied your beautifully measured thread "X"'s at the square corners, instead of the middles, but to each their own. Might be a good thing to show us, what the 2 placements look like.
I love a hand tied quilt but I was surprised how many people don't!! Love your quilt!!!
Thank you for the tutorial. I like the hand tying because it seems simple. Until next time...happy sewing!

@Kayla Quilts I love tie quilts too! They remind me of my grandmother and being in her home!! I know what you mean about comforting!!
What a good video!! I’ve been struggling to find a good reference when finishing my first quilt but this is it- thank you!
