I absolutely love this tutorial. I'm presently using a #3 weight baby yarn & hook size 3.5 (E) with starting of 8 DC in the magic circle. This beanie will be for a small baby. I've already made a waffle stitch blanket so this will match perfectly. Thank you from this Canadian gal

I originally started with 12 DC in the magic circle & I was 3/4 completed. I tried it on & it was too big for a lady. I ripped it out & did 10 DC in the magic circle & now it's perfect. I just completed it & for my border I did 1 row of HDC vice SC. Then on the next few rows I did FPHDC, BPHDC etc. Wow it is now truly outstanding

Instead of makin 12 double crochet in very first round, you can make 14 or 16 stitches.
Or after making 12 double crochet, in next round you can make 2 double crochet into each stitch,that makes total 24 double crochet in that round,you can check the crown size if it fits you, or else make the round little more bigger, then follow this pattern.

I don’t have a 4.5 needle I don’t mind if it’s a bit bigger , should I 5.00 be ok?
You need to used hook size according to your yarn size.
If your yarn is compatible with 5 mm hook, then yes you can use,
In my case,the yarn is compatible with both 4.5 mm and 5 mm crochet hook, so it is possible.

That was a beautiful hat but can it fit for an adult or is it for a child?
This size is perfect for a kids( 7 to 9 years)
For bigger sizes, you need to adjust the crown sizes accordingly.
