I love that you can decorate, create and up cycle in spite of the double cat attack. Tiny paws coming at you from all directions. It always makes me smile 😊

I was taught to hang wallpaper by a man who was an engineer so pretty precise in his calculations, he taught me to start in the middle of the wall but first use a level to ensure a straight line as not all walls are square and if you start from a corner there is a strong chance your wallpaper will be out of square, once you have a straight line from ceiling to skirting then offer up the wallpaper to the line and then put the strip up then cut the ends, then just add either side and cut to shape. Just a little tip but yours looks great.

Your kitties are so distracting in the best possible way! 😂😂 It’s impossible to be in a bad mood with their little antics-even when they’re naughty. I recently rescued a little dog and she has brought me so much joy! Can’t wait to see the rest of your bedroom make over!

If it's allowed in your country, I wish you would take us with you when you go thrifting! I love to thrift and have been doing it since I was a teenager, so for 45 years now. Another channel I follow, the couple traveled to England and France last few years and my favorite part was them filming while thrifting through the charity shops and antique stores. Like others here have said already, cannot wait to see what you pick out for a desk. Although, I truly loved the settee or loveseat that you had in the nook area. It was beautiful! About cats;... last year i got me a young cat, 4 months old, oh my, she was very energetic !!!
jumping on erverything !!! he got his nails in all my curtains several times, and on the wallpaper, jumped on my (very high)closets and broke several decoration things....
I had cats before but never had one like him ....didn´t know they could be so differend....
I am just finally getting around to ordering my first wall paper. Mom and I hung easily 30 rooms worth of wallpaper during my childhood. As an adult I have stuck with paint until now.
Your kitty made me laugh so hard playing in that bag, cats are so funny. I really like your wall paper, the idea of a nice desk is a good idea and like you say you will get more use out of your space that way. Take care, keep us posted on the hunt.
I have to say that wall pasted paper is the way to go. Peel and stick is Satan's Sticker, if you ask me. It stretches and sticks to itself...and getting the air bubbles out is a nightmare. 😂

I love those curtains especially that they’re ready pleated and love the loops on the back so that its nice and neat above the pole.

Great job, brass is timeless, 😊. Looking forward to seeing end result. Trick, if bubble remains in wallpaper & you can’t get rid, get a sewing needle and prick it, it will flatten, rub over & voila flat surface

Hi Catherine. You have two very adorable supervisors there LOL! I love your wallpaper. It is exquisite and sets the room off perfectly. I live in Oregon and I have not seen anyone do wallpaper since the early 1990s. The Irish and British do it more than we do here. I would love to try it out if I could find any around my area. We used to have big wallpaper areas in stores back in the day you could buy anything wallpaper. 😍

I'm 80 next year so I just paint walls now as it's too much for me to be stripping wallpaper ,and my Husband is not into diy. That wallpaper is a lovely colour and matches your jumper 😁 . When I hang wallpaper I always have an even and odd drop roll (so using 2 rolls simultaneously for alternative drops). I find it will typically limit the wastage between the pattern repeats.

Ah Catherine on this rainy cold night with the rain beating down on the roof of my she shed/office/craft room i could have happily watched you for another hour love the wallpapered nook cant wait to see the finished project i am on the lookout for a side board for my living room haven't found it yet but ooh the thrifting is joyous lol!!!!

I can appreciate nice patterned wall paper but can't cope with other patterns in the room so I'm more comfortable with plain paint. This looks lovely though.

When my husband and I bought our house 35+ years ago, we spent the better part of a year removing all the 1970s wall paper (olive, orange and gold plaid, orange and pink bubble flowers, rust-brown burlap, and silver foil paper). Not a wall was spared and some rooms had more than one layer. Even the hallway and family room ceilings were papered. The paper was applied to bare wallboard making removal a nightmare. We swore we'd never ever wallpaper a room. Now, so many years later, we're renovating. The powder room was the first bathroom completed, and.....I've picked out the perfect wallpaper. So much for "never"!

And i love floral wallpaper. Back in the 80's myself and my ex husband built our own house and i had stripped wallpaper and floral with a border in the middle and i loved it.
I missed the house more than the husband. Lol.

I like some wallpaper. But if i have to do it myself, definitely just painting. I wouldn't try b good at wallpapering with patterns. They had some lovely wallpapers there. 😻
I have a little black cat who also enjoys plastic bags. I bought a new mattress topper recently that came in similar packaging to your curtains. I wondered where the noise was coming from and it was her sitting inside the packaging, purring like a motor, bless her.
I had a bookcase and comfy chair in a corner of my bedroom. It was supposed to be my reading nook but I never used it in years. Until I swapped out the bookcase for a lovely mid century modern rolltop bureau that I found at an auction house going for a song. Now I use that nook every day.
I also sleep with my blinds open. My OT said it was good for my circadian rhythm. Girl I could be your twin, if I wasn't old enough to be your mother 😂

Greetings from Michigan! I adore your wallpaper tastes! I love wallpaper. grew up with it and had it in my homes 1985-2010 then it became uncool. I don't understand why anyone would do that trendy peel and stick stuff! 😆 Laura Ashley is my FAVORITE DESIGNER! I still have mother/daughter dresses and my girl is now 34!! LOL Adore those little kittens of yours Catherine they are just precious! Cheeky thumbs up! P.S. I have the Hemnes desk from Ikea - it is a BEAST only down fall is my cat likes to use the corner as his scratching post - but I love the desk!

Great wallpaper tutorial. I have used the type of paper where the strip is soaked in water before hanging dripping on the wall. It is a little tricky as you must try not to stretch or tear the paper while smoothing. I am excited to see the type you used where all you need do is paste the walls! Looks to be much more enjoyable. Thanks for the cat's antics, always fun to see. Laurie

Love your wallpaper, I like a mix of wallpaper and paint, but my husband refuses to have wall paper anymore ☹️because he doesn’t like stripping it off. Although I do most of the decorating 😮 a plus of living on your own can do whatever you want in your home 😁❤

I find if you open more than one roll the match may well be in the second one, and if you have a large pattern, you waste less! I had 3-4 on the go when I did my hall stairs and landing.
If you're going to put something in front of it, just patchwork it......go along underneath the windowsill first...????? Or maybe that's just my solution 😂😂

😂 "Don't worry he can breathe" This was such an enjoyable episode Catherine. Now I'm on the hunt for those exact same curtains. We are retired now and in the midst of repainting all the rooms. I've been using a hand held steamer on the old wall paper and a putty knife and it's coming off easy without a big wet mess.

I have a little black cat who loves plastic bags too. I recently bought a new mattress topper which came in similar packaging to your curtains. It didn't take long for her to find the packaging and she sat inside purring like a motor, bless her.
In my bedroom I had a bookcase and comfy chair. It was supposed to be a reading book but I never used it in years. That corner of the room just gathered dust. Then I found a stunning rolltop mid century modern bureau. I moved the bookcase and installed the bureau and now I use that nook every single day and I love it.
Can't wait to see your nook finished. Oh, and I also sleep with my windows uncovered. I've nobody looking into my apartment and my OT said it was good for my circadian rhythm but I've never known anyone else to do that until now. Girl we could be twins. If I wasn't old enough to be your mother 😂

Because you're doing a different wall it wouldn't matter if you couldn't get the same batch number. Light hits the walls at different angles so they would look slightly different anyway

I love wallpaper and am loving William Morris prints right now. Made the mistake of buying some peel and stick wallpaper, said it was easy to shift and rearrange, not so! Left me having to repair my drywall and repainting when I tried to move it while matching patterns. Next I have to find myself some wallpaper that needs paste, gonna start over and do it the good old fashioned way. Love your wallpaper selection😊
