Probably the best tutorial on face painting I’ve seen yet. I’ve watched this at least 10-15 times. I’m grateful people are willing to put this stuff out for free even to help other modellers. Some people can complain about anything! Thanks again.
Great tutorial! I don’t see the issue with not painting eyebrows, on a 1:35 scale figure they can make it look very toyish. Why are people complaining about the background music, just turn the volume down 🤷♂️
very good vid...just one question, many other people start painting the fase with base color and, afterwards, the eyes...why do you proceed just in the opposite order? Thank you
Fantastic tutorial face painting, I have one silly question because I’m very beginner in this hobby. Do you are using thinner or just water to mix before paint? Thank you so much
Much better video but, what’s with the porno music? I would have rather herd you explain what your doing than hear that music. Other than that good video👍🏼
hey there. i'm rewatching this video b/c im trying to understand how to paint faces properly. I have the same paint set of panzer aces, and i just recently purchased scale75 artist flesh tone set. I don't know how to make my faces on 1:35 scale figures look right b/c they're so small. Can you help me? i noticed at 11:54 you start the shadows. Where do the highlights go and where do the shadows? Also i remember we discussed paints and you told me you gave away your Vallejo and got scale75 and AK. I too recently went out and purchased AK 3rd gen and the new AK Figure line. I like how they're all consistent colors, whereas Vallejo dark colors are thick like Nutella and the light colors are runny like Fanta soda. Also AK dries matt and when it's thinned with water it does not go glossy like Vallejo. I also noticed when Vallejo is left on a dry palette, like a paint drop that's left and not used and it dries, that paint drop will dry with gloss/shine, and it will reflect light from a ceiling lamp for example. AK all dry matt especially the Figure line. I also read but haven't tried they don't need a varnish coat before applying oils/enamel washes and mineral spirits for cleanup. They're just that durable. I also noticed when vallejo sits for a a while there is a discoloration color forming on the top edge of the bottle, not with AK.
Hi, I will make video with bigger scale head. AK 3rd gen are more consistent and don't separate as bad as Vallejo. And dry matt, yes. Coverage is nice, Scale75 are not good for base coat, but for blending, the Artist line is very nice :). Try sketching the shadows and highlights and then blend them with the flesh color.
@@VGModelling with the artist paints, the pink flesh, green, brown and red have vert good coverage even when thinned down with heavily with water, after four coats they cover great. The golden flesh and light flesh SART-08 and 09 cover poorly IMO. they will get solid coverage but they require like six or seven coats.
hey is your panzer aces flesh shade 343 a brownish or more reddish tone? ive had a problem with panzer aces 310 old wood being darker than it should be, so im concerned about the flesh shadow color as well. i seen the flesh shadows on your palette but its hard to make it out because of the computer and lighting. thank you
@@VGModelling i don't like that about vallejo. my old wood 70.310 is way off that's for sure. i found another example of somebody with the same issue as mine.. reddit.com/r/minipainting/comments/9rujdi/can_i_have_some_goddamn_consistency_vallejo/ ive been thinking of switching all my paints over to AK 3rd gen, they have a new 3rd gen figure line of paints as well. what are your thoughts on the matter?
Thanks, I forgot to shoot the eyebrows painting in the end, sorry, card was full. But you can see this in the "Navy seal, Vietnam'" video-ua-cam.com/video/69UNs_99Lz4/v-deo.html
Yes, you are correct-even larger, but high quality brushes have great tip and you can paint small details with ease. And they hold paint better than small brushes which tend to dry on the tip faster.
Good technique but a combination of the elevator music and the time between steps makes me break concentration before the next step and I miss the caption. Like I said, good techniques but painful to watch.

Thank you very much, Tim! I'm glad it was helpful, regards!
your characters are the hammer, great job of you!!!! 👍
Thanks!
Great job thanks for sharing
Wow, you really do a great job !
Great video. Nice to see that you are using quality camera to capture all details.
Thanks!
Wow, a 1/35 face painting vid that you can actually see where the paint is going. No mean feat at that scale with the depth of field to contend with.
Just perfect!!!

Thanks! I just forgot the eyebrows, sorry :) All my figures have eyebrows.
Nice job !
looks good!
Robert
Thanks!
Very handsome.
Que marca de pincel usas para pintar los ojos.
My question is, how do you paint beard growth?
H, with very thin blueish grey paint, sometimes I use oil for more control.

Thanks! I did this with the first several faces, but now I'm painting the base color first, then the eyes :)
@@VGModelling Thank you for your answer...please, post more vids about face painting...thank you
@@Miguel-re2hv I'm preparing another video with face painting included

Thanks, I use just water on the wet palette. Stay safe!

I'm working on that, thanks for the feedback! I have to buy good microphone first :)
Merci et bravo!!!

@@MF-kv8cn Use AK 3rd Beige red for base coat, and Scale75 for the blending, you may need several thin layers for good effect ;)
@@VGModelling hey, i'm just curious, why did you give away your vallejo to your friend and get AK and Scale75 in its place?

Kind of reddish, but maybe different batches has slight different tone

@@MF-kv8cn Actually I gave all my Vallejo paints to a friend, now I'm using Scale75 and several AK 3rd gen, better distribution in my country
When you lose your arms in battle, they call you a navy seal....had to.
How thin do you make the paints...is the thinning different in different steps of the process?
Base flesh color I apply directly to cover well, highlights and shadows have to be thinned.
Great job. No eye brows?

Lol no worrys. I love your job on the eyes with such a big brush but I think the tip is important.
Yes, you are correct-even larger, but high quality brushes have great tip and you can paint small details with ease. And they hold paint better than small brushes which tend to dry on the tip faster.
What is the device used to hold the head?
Hi, it's just a pin vise :)
"oh look, its so simple, lets do it." an hour later: "Fuck..."
Great video...but the music made it hard work...

Thanks for the feedback! This is maybe my first video, so I will try to improve.
haha.... no eye brows
Yeah, sorry for that :). They are painted, but card was full, and I totally forgot to check when uploading, Regards!
TURN OFF THE BACKGROUND MUSICK...Please...
How about doing a commentary rather than playing stupid music.

The paintwork is brilliant, but the backround music is shit, sorry.
