Your mom done a fabulous job on the painting! It is beautiful!!
Thank you so much!
I appreciate the care you put in the sound absorbing materials. It makes it easier to be hear and understand (some people sound like they are in a cavern). The blouse is lovely, too.
I was annoyed at the echo that was present in my older videos. This was important for me and I hope it makes a difference :)
Your mom is a very talented painter.
Talent clearly runs in your family. What a sweet gift from your mom - so much more meaningful that she painted it for you.
Your mum's painting is so beautiful! What a wonderful gift 😍 Your little cotton top is super cute! Personally, I sew the majority of my garments in cotton. Not only is it beautifully-behaved to sew with it, but I love the feel of it against my skin. Thanks for showing us your lovely collection of quilting cottons 😍🙏
It feels nice and fresh for sure :)
Perfect filming studio! I was admiring the painting of the sewing machine. Now I know your Mother did indeed, paint it! She is so talented in painting as you are in sewing! The pink sewing letters are lovely and are a perfect compliment to the painting. I do love pink anything and everything. A very beautiful room! I just bought the Presto Tunic.I have to finish setting my projector up in my upstairs room so I can trace it out on paper and then make a toile. I am excited to get it made in a pretty cotton like yours. Thanks for the inspiration!
I had so much cotton from my days of quilting. You have inspired me to look at that in a different way
The new sewing room has a lovely quality of light (and a beautiful painting). 😊 Thank you for tackling quilting cotton!
Wow ! You just got that fabric, Very nice, Your Mom is a pretty lady.
Thank you for answering my comments. I would never have even considered a large bicep.adjustment for the Harrison shirt! Thank you for your insight. Re: length of tunics. I too, thought the tunic was below the bottom so after finally reading The Tunic Bible it was surprising to learn that was not necessarily the case. They have an inset that has the pin tucks horizontally. It was interesting. Also they use piping and many trims. As always I enjoy and appreciate your videos. Love your tunic and love your new studio. When you are filming outside I especially enjoy the greenery and the birds' songs.
Very nice new filming setup. Natural daylight is always a plus. As was said by other viewers there is some serious talent in your family. You are a fabric artist and your Mom is an awesome painter. Love the 100% cotton. Your shirts and dresses are very nice and fit well. Looking forward to your Chanel-style jackets. I am sure they will be great! It usually will take me 2-3 weeks from start to finish if I concentrate on one project. But how many of us do that? Thank you so much for sharing with us your talent and knowledge. I, for one, have learned so much from you. Always positive and honest.
I love your Mom's painting. I really wanted to get this pattern but I restrained myself! I love your top.
Your work is impeccable. I love watching your channel, the quilting cotton is beautiful 😍 ❤
Beautiful top Karina! Glad you are doing these videos about cotton fabric. I always walked by them, thinking that they are only for quilting. I have some that a friend gave me. It’s draped on a chair and I’m looking at it for inspiration. Hmmmmm!
Wow your mom is so talented. We can see now you inherited your creative talent from her. Your outfit with the Presto Tunic and Legato jeans looks really sharp.
A very well put together outfit. I think the shoes you chose dress it up quite a bit. I'm guessing the tendency to wrinkle will be camouflaged in the beautiful print.
Another informative, enjoyable video. Thank you ❣
Lovely fabrics and that dress and top are lovely in the quilting cotton!!
Thank you so much :)
What a beautiful top!!
Thank you so much 😀
Great video Karina. Thank you so much.
Nice new filming area. I want to see your lined jacket sewing project!
That turned out lovely! I wasn't sure how it would look in a project, when you showed the fabric in the prior video. You have a great vision for pairing fabric with patterns effectively!
Gorgeous. Wish I would have watched this sooner, I def would have purchased the Presto. Ah well.
So pretty!
I have some Rifle Paper Co quilting cotton on order. I just love their prints so had to have some. No plans for it yet, but it will probably be a shirt. Beautiful job on the Presto - and yes I just bought it this evening..
Your Presto is lovely, as are the Legatos. What a great filming space you've created and your mom's gift fits perfectly! Thanks for al you share.
Excellent choice for buttons. Also loved the pintuck version.
I love all the garments you showed. The quilting cotton top is awesome and I think it would look great as a summer dress as well. Your mom's gift to you is lovely.
I love the painting your mum did for you, so appropriate and the colours are perfect. That will be a momentous for you to treasure forever.
What a beautiful painting your mom made. I have one of the old black Singers and they are both iconic and beautiful... she captured it wonderfully.
Great video. Love your top. I need to watch your video on using quilting cottons because I have many concerns about it. Thanks for all you share!
So glad that you love what you do - it gives us a lot of pleasure too!
I love it and really want to get this pattern.
Karina, this quilting cotton you used for your top is beautiful! And paired with your pants, you have a very smart outfit. Your new filming room is so pretty and relaxing. I’m glad you were able to use that space. Great video, thanks!!
Beautiful make! Your mom is SO talented! How nice that she can come to stay. Have a great weekend. ♥
Your new filming studio is great! I love the addition of a peek of natural light.
As always you do an amazing job your mother is very talented your new room for filming is great hope to see many more
I loved the top you made out of quilting cotton . It looked lovely and complimented the jeans really well . I have a soft spot for woven material.
I love your Presto. I have the pattern but have not made it. It inspires me to make some. I have a knit like your moms white that I may try it out.
Your new space is lovely but that painting of your moms is incredible. She is talented. She paints in oils, you paint with fabric.
Your new Presto is beautiful! Your new sewing area is nice!!!
I have occasionally found a quilting Cotton that felt actually quite nice when handling it. I will have have a look next time I’m in a quilt shop and give this a try. Thanks for a great video as always
I had noticed your new filming studio and how cute it is I am ordering that pattern right now and I will try and make a cute tunic with all my cotton I also have lovely batiks cant wait I need some tops thank you lovely KARINA🥰👚
Thanks for the video. The Presto top is lovely in quilting cotton (love the print), so I going to get the pattern as it will also look great in linen or chambray too. Your new filming space is great! Love the painting by your mom, wish I could paint like that, she's good!
Beautiful ❤️🩹
In your top load washing machine.....add a 1-2lt coke (original) to your water. No soap!!
It will soften your cotton tremendously!!!!!
I only use coke with Linen and denim. I have not needed it for cotton as yet-
I see some quilting cotton that I really love. My read of them is they are a bit stiff in clothing and need ironing.
@@karen-zb7pu yep it’s structured and I don’t mind ironing :)
I'm thinking of adding a peter pan collar, do you think it will be hard to adjust? Oh and I love the tip of pintucking fabric the same way you would quilt fabric BEFORE cutting out the pattern piece. That way you don't have to slash and spread to add pintucks to the paper pattern.
It depends. If you know how to draft one then yes it’s easy because you can make it fit the shape of this neckline. If not, transferring one from another pattern is not that straightforward.
👍🌹
Will I be able to sew along with you when you do your lined jackets? I've never made a jacket before, let alone a lined one. My friend cut out a lovely jacket and lining for me that she intended to sew up for my birthday a couple of years ago but life got in the way and she didn't have time to sew it so she asked me if I minded sewing it up myself. Of course I didn't mind. Its like getting a kit. Lol. But I noticed the pattern was for an unlined jacket in fabric with stretch but she gave me woven fabric (like Chanel) without stretch. Will it work? It is a structured jacket and I think she cut it out in a big enough size that it is bigger than I would need if it was in a fabric with stretch.
The lined jacket I’m going to sew will be on my Patreon page. I will have a summary of this on the channel but not all the details. If your jacket has a lot of ease, it doesn’t matter if your lining does not stretch.
I love all your versions, so pretty! I have bought the pattern but I am concerned about the back darts as I am only 5 fort 2 so worry they will come down too low.
Don’t sew them right away. When you try on the top at the end, mark with your hand where the smallest part of your back is. Check that place on the pattern and raise them to your requirement. Mark and sew them at the end :)
That’s what I do.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedlesthank you for answering me. That is a great way of doing it and I will give it a go.
i thought quilting prints were also for clothing, i use them to make dresses
I'm enjoying that beautiful white blouse. Many kisses
I love ur cotton too..Does the quilting fabric shrink evwrytime or wrinkles everytime it gets washed?
It will shrink the most the first time and then a tiny tiny bit later on. Wrinkles, yes… majorly.
Did you interface the placket when using the quilting cotton? Just wondering if I could omit it, as I’m worried it might end up a little stiff?
I used very very light interfacing. It’s almost sheer.
Where is your cutting and prep area?
This is just where I film. I have a proper sewing room. See it here ua-cam.com/video/aTQu1CNapNM/v-deo.html
