I have made girls summer dresses,tops, and shorts in quilting fabric. When my girls were young (30 years ago) it was the norm. And may I say so much cooler than knits. Now I'm sewing for my granddaughter she loves and prefers them, especially nightgowns. Much of my current stash was donated. Today I have on me made peasant top and culotte shorts in quilting cotton.

I am just beginning to sew garments, and I have been struggling to find the right fabrics at Joann's for the patterns I want to sew. The only fabrics I am completely comfortable with of are the cotton fabrics, and I can easily find cotton fabric designs that I like. So thank you so much for helping me to find patterns I can sew with the cotton that I have.
I have so many cute cottons at home because my local fabric store doesn’t have much variety of fabrics and the cottons are way more affordable, thanks for the tips I’ve been working on some blouses ideas that I could use some of my fabric :)
I make all my summer tops and pants/ shorts out of quilting cotton. I prefer cottons because cottons need more wearing ease, I’m so skinny, I need more ease to make me look like the weight I’m supposed to be.
Thanks! Yes, it is. It's the stardust tank by Halla Patterns. I believe it's free.... or free if you join the facebook group??. And then I used a tencel knit for the main with a rib knit for the side and bands.. I still wear this top but it sure needs a replacement!
