I knew that Kyle Eastwood was a bassist but didn't know any of his work. What a find this video is! He is excellent. Am now looking for some of his albums.
Swell guy great music. Kyle is delightful . Met him at french cinematheque bercy Paris with Lalo Schifrin we all watched dirty harry with daddy Clint and that Schifrin genius. Kyle is an absolute piece of cake and one of the nicest guys around .
Nice to hear Rory Simmons (Flugel) again after a long time, in this killing band! (Used to play / record with Rory back when he was a student in London).
At 62 yrs of age, I grew up with Clint Eastwood in the movies, and on TV. Always loved and had a high regard and respect for the man. After I'd seen "My Grand Torino" and seen that Kyle had grown up listening to the same music his father did [which was jazz] played by so many BLACK musicians? Well, I have to say I'm more than a little disappointed that Kyle doesn't have a "diverse" band backing him up. REALLY! But I absolutely love his playing! Therefore, I have to say, I'm glad to be able to have the opportunity to SEE him in action on the bass.
Well, Kyle didn't really have to learn jazz on the mean streets of New York like Ron Carter or someone like that. It would seem a bit disingenuous to just have a more diverse lineup just to appear hip imo.
I just listened to a interview musician Simon Lasky did with Kyle about two upcoming concerts in St. Petersburg, Fl. on September 19th & 20th . Very well done and informative for certain. I didn’t realize he was a touring musician, lives in France and his band has played with him for over a decade . He is a really talented musician and composer. Definitely going to one of the shows.
are you that other sister of his? Ive only met his daughter and my best friend his ex -wife.. he let me play his bass. He just stood staring at me for he didn't think i knew how to hold one until i told him i use to play the bass cello and violin. He is such a cool guy. Non attitude at all.
This popped up as a UA-cam recommendation which I don't normally click on but did so out of curiosity knowing he is Clint's son.I'm certainly glad I did, this is a very tight bunch of musicians, unknown to me except for Kyle, playing some outstanding music. Will certainly look out for more from this group.
Very strong and hip...Kyle Eastwood deserves all his success ..he did it himself and not his famous father except maybe to be exposed to great music at a early age.
If your father is Clint Eastwood, you didn't do it all yourself. He has opportunities that even better men in New York just dont have access to. His dad lives jazz. Nuff said. Js.
I would never give this video a thumbs down but I do have mixed feelings about Eastwood's playing. Probably because I just watched this ua-cam.com/video/YhDu7ku3fiI/v-deo.html
They just do not understand Brian. A few are Haters. There are people on earth who just do the OPPOSITE of what others do. Left is right. Up is down. Good is bad etc. That's life on planet earth with the VIRUS CALLED MAN!!! I worked for Clint Eastwood on JERSEY BOYS. I was in the scene with John Lloyd Young at end of film when he's in WHITE TUZEDO ON STAGE singing his heart out Into the Camera. Guests at Tables watching. Having dinner. I was Featured in that scene for the Trailer.....But, Clint, as he IS KNOWN TO DO QUITE N OFTEN, "CHANGED THE ENTIRE SHOOT'. What was a WIDE SHOT, Zoom in to Guests faces, Dinner, and John singing (*5 Camera's on him and entire room at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, L.A., CA) turned in to SINGLE CAMERA, ZOOM ON JOHN ONLY. It worked. Great scene!!! The actors, men & women had tears in their eyes listening to John sing. He is simply amazingly gifted. I am happy I got that chance even if I was CUT from scene. ON EDITING MAN'S FLOOR. lol It happens. Take care Brian....jh/GF, US Army Veteran, NATO. Corporate Exec. Best Foods, John Deere Italy. 2004 ha my Neck broken in Construction accident for John Deere. Cruise, Denzel W., Liam Neeson, Robert Duvall etc. We can count them...Hollywood is a REVOLVING DOOR. Many get hurt/used. I'll stop. Bless you,
Thank God for 'Genetics'. Kyle picked up so many Gifts from God and used them to live a Full Life. And had his own to add to it all......Isn't he also a SURFING PRO & #1 IN THE WORLD? I grew up in Malibu and Santa Monica, California but I didn't care about actors etc. (We had our own lives). I also rarely watched TV so only when I lived in Milano, Italy in 1970's while serving in the US ARMY IN EUROPE/NATO COMMAND did I hear about Clint Eastwood. Just not one of those guys who NEEDED TO KNOW THEM OR ABOUT THEM. While living in Italy making my own living in Corporate field, worldwide Eastwood name came up a LOT. Cine Citta was a big deal and ROME, ITALY was making SPAGHETTI WESTERNS & SERGIO LEONE Loved Spain so he chose Spain as Location for ' A Fistful of Dollars" (almeria) Desert of Tabernas, SPAIN. My dad's friend turned down this role as a few other actors did. EASTWOOD TOOK IT. . Fun stuff to watch and relax on weekends. My Italian family were SOCCER FANS. Not in to actors or film. Italians first released these Films IN ITALY ONLY. Then full Release later 1967? 70's? I personally think, between Eastwood and ENNIO MORRICONE, MUSICIAN they made the Western a worldwide Phenomenon. Thank you for Video
Katerina
The body totally looks like a Carvin BB, and the dot markers are off center too, but not that headstock! Very interesting. Did Bunny have a custom model with a company before Carvin?
Faible.

Kyle has a special way to approach improvisation that is musical, innovative and emotional. And supported by a great band!
Very much melodic approach, which I like.

I was in love with your father for all his work in his life, but now i'm impressived by the son !!!!
Amazing ❣ Way to go Kyle 🏆
Signature Sound! Beautiful delivery! Bass, Piano & Drums.

Absolutely incredible amount of groove, even during the solos. Inventive, interesting, memorable lines throughout.

Imagine being in this jazz band. The composition, the musicianship, and when your bassist goes to solo, his bass-face turns him into Clint Eastwood

Excelente, muy bonito. Kyle notable 👌
Very nice, and it sure doesn't hurt that it's recorded so well!
Les harmoniques + le clavier... J'adore.
Very nice music. Great musicians. Glad to have found this.

Don't so naive Dan !
Of course his father helped him A LOT.
That doesn't mean, that Kyle is not good or he didn't practice hour after hour.
Fabulous! All band members are excellent soloists!
I like that some of the songs are very dark and moody. Doesn't happen nearly enough in jazz. Excellent set.
Check out GARY THOMAS. sax player from Baltimore. His album called "found on sordid streets".
Brilliant, absolutely outstanding young group. Nice tight sound.
BASS ON, BRO. REALLY CAN FEEL IT!!!! INDY LOVE.
Was so lucky to see this guy last year, my favourite jazz musician.
Natural Talent + Hard Work = Kyle Eastwood

God DAMN that dude's thumb is long. Noticed in the slap part - it looks like any regular person's forefinger or middle finger.
That is one Big Noise!
jean luc ponty inspirations
wow i didnt know clint had a son that plays jazz bass
Where is "rue perdue"?
What's the name of the pianist, please ?
Why would you edit out "Rue Perdue"???????
what bass does he use?
What kind of bass is that ??
tony m Carvin Bunny Brunel Fretless bass. Carvin discontinued it since Bunny went to ESP.😕
The body totally looks like a Carvin BB, and the dot markers are off center too, but not that headstock! Very interesting. Did Bunny have a custom model with a company before Carvin?
It's a Gibson Bunny Brunel bass not the Carvin one.
Nice music...for airports and shopping malls.
Jean-Claude You obviously did not watch the whole video 🙁
Why?
..why not?🤔
Anything to do with Clint eastwood
???

Everything's so great except for the sparkling drum set.
I didn't like the color of the pianist's shirt.
Who are here just because he is the son of Clint Eastwood ?
What a shame Kyle's black bass and upright bass are both out of tune. Marrakech is a sloppy train wreck. The band is on point, though.
JAZZ!!!! Truly the worst music ever made, total rubbish
