This Trio from this period in Chick Corea's history is absolutely incredible. I started to watch this to check it out and I was mesmerized and could not stop until the end. The energy, artistry and just pure talent of these guys together.. all I can say is that is one of the luckiest audiences in music history... thank you so much for sharing this I will be coming back to this many times for sure. This is the best jazz trio of all times. It gets a little too weird at times, but these guys can play at insanely high levels, and this was early for Dave and John.
@@cicero73100 Not a fan of Vinnie with Chick. I think the OP might be referring to some "out" stuff that goes on when these guys jam. 90% brilliant, 10% wack.

The comment made about the drum tech: "Dave’s drum tech failed him, I see....". C'mon man, this was the 80's. The sound technology back then was so so, but the sound technology gets better as the years go by. So whoever failed who in sound back then, who gives a raccoon's arse. It didn't take away the chemistry and the friendship these guys had back then and still do have to this day. This is a great performance I'll never forget. R.I.P. chick....
John Patitucci is disturbing me with that upright bass playing!!!! What a man bad man???? This guy was so amazing from so far back. I literally have a migraine.
I heard this very band I think one or two years later, but I didn't remember them being the Serious Mullet Band. Which, looking back, was the next big thing in electric jazz at that time.
Somewhere between McCoyTyner and B.Bartok a very special musician has gone, a truly innovative creator and probably on the same level as J.Coltrane. _Now He Beats The Drums, Now He Stops.._ Adios.
Trying to find out was this before or after the album just noticed Chick reading from a chart. Sounds great regardless . First I've heard of this concert recording . Big Fan of all the musicians.
Great video and thanks, but what happened to the head of Q2? 42:16 they go from the drum intro to full swinging? The whole set up for the tune is missing.
The likes of which will never be seen again , Dave and John are missing a great friend
