I appreciate the advice on placing the weight between middle toe and big toe to prevent rolling to the outside of the foot (correction to alignment). And the IT band stretch was great!
This was so good, I knew I had tight muscles but didn't think they were so bad!! Legs feel so good after that, I've been looking for something to incorporate into my weekly running to help with strength and mobility and I think I've found what I'm looking for. I've only bee running for 8 months or so but have definitely neglected this side of things. Hoping to do this routine twice a week for the next few weeks. Thank you!!
That IT band stretch...definitely had to use my breath to get through that one! "Hurt so good" is right! A great mobility, strength and stretch routine for runners like me. I found myself not needing to look at the screen much at all because your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. Thank you!!
You're so welcome! Yes, that IT band stretch can be tough! I loved how you used your breath to get through it... that can really help! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Thank you for posting this! I'm an endurance runner and UA-camr constantly in search of better ways to train! I share my favorite tips on my channel and this is great stuff! Keep posting - you have my full support.
Glad you found some good info and exercises in here! Since you're an endurance runner, adding in varied movements and modalities will definitely help to support your training and reduce injuries. Great job on your channel! Lots of great info on there. Thanks for visiting!
Yay, Jennifer!! I love hearing this! Cyclists and runners definitely need focused stretches and strength work, so I love hearing how this video worked well for a cyclist! Thanks so much 😀
You are very welcome, Liz! So important to include those 3 things you mentioned as part of a movement regimen... you'll definitely see more of that here in the future!
Loved that IT band stretch! I'm going to start doing that regularly :) Great class with wonderful explanations behind your movements! I try to go on 2-3 trail runs a week and walk the dog daily, so I am definitely trying to balance all my sagittal plane movement with my Pilates, Animal Flow, and yoga practice.
Thank you! You are so great at varying your movements and modalities, Kira! So important to balance out those walks and runs with other practices like you mentioned, otherwise we'll get stiff, tight and more prone to injuries. Keep it up!!
