Hi! Sorry, I just saw your comment now. As others have mentioned, they seem to have disabled this in the latest beta. It’ll still come to M1 in a future update. I think they’re taking their time to perfect the feature before releasing it.
I’m not really sure if you need a specific monitor for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Just keep in mind that audio gets redirected to that monitor, so you’ll need one with speakers, or connect speakers to the monitor. (I hope they add a way of audio to come out of the iPad when connected to a monitor.)

when i hook my M2 ipad pro to my tv i don't get the Built-in Retina Display option, and also no Arrangement option.
it only shows my tv name and i can't extend the image.
Hi! External monitor support was removed before iPadOS 16.1’s release, which is why it doesn’t work. It’s currently back in testing in iPadOS 16.2 beta.
@@fjordstrom huh, it has been removed ?
why ?
Not sure… but it’s luckily back in the beta. Hopefully it’ll be final once iPadOS 16.2 comes out.
Any enhancement in beta public 2 ?
Does this work with the apple Thunderbolt Display?
bro, which usb hub should i use for m1 12.9 ipad pro?
Mine m1 iPad Pro does not work, only mirroring the iPad, there is no arrangement shown in the setting at all, iPad is running ios16.1, and I am connected to the mouse as well.

@@fjordstrom thanks for the info!
I can’t extend it even when I have a mouse connected I have a iPad Air 5 m1
Hi! Unfortunately, they’ve removed this feature from the current beta. I hope it will return soon.
Can you help? I have connected an external monitor to my M2 iPad Pro , but I cannot get it to extend the display. I only get the iPad display duplicated to the external display. I have external keyboard and mouse attached, but it simply will not extend only duplicate.
I have tried a usb c to usb c cable, usb c to hdmi cable and a usb hub to hdmi cable. All with the same results.
Any ideas why I might not be getting the same options as you for external monitors in the settings?

Need your help. You showed in the video how magic keyboard is not necessary but what if I don't use a dongle mouse but instead use a bluetooth one. Does the ipad detect that as a mouse and work normally.
I have a adapter to connect ipad to monitor but that doesn't have usb port. As I have a bluetooth mouse will that work?
Can't believe how great and information dense the video was. Keep it up!!! I subbed😁
BT mouse works
@@channelx47 thanks a lot for the response and the video. 😀
Does it turn into external display? Or just mirror?
I'm using Dell U2719DC with usb-c port and connect my wireless mouse + key board to my ipad pro 11inch M1, but it doesnt work. Could not get the Dell display as an external display. Could you help me?
Hi! Apple removed external monitor support before the release of iPadOS 16.1, so it’s not yet available right now. They did add it back to the current beta of iPadOS 16.2, so hopefully it’ll launch when that update comes out :)
Why do I still on a mirror mode instead of external display? I already connect with my mouse??
Hi! Apple removed the feature before the release of iPadOS 16.1. It’s now back in iPadOS 16.2, which is still in beta.
@@fjordstrom ah yess I just found out that. Thankyou so much for you’re response I appreciated!
Which display adapter do you use? My adapter doesn't support Stage Manager😐.
Hi! The feature is still in beta (right now in iPadOS 16.2 beta 1). It wasn’t released with iPadOS 16 last Monday.
Bro I'm facing problem to connect my iPad to my monitor 😒
Hi! Sadly, Apple removed the external monitor support feature in the current beta. I’m hoping they’ll add it back soon.
What monitor are you using and what monitors we can use??
Hi! This is a Lenovo L24-e (2 years old). I’ve tried several monitors and projectors and all of them worked, but only if they’re HMDI monitors. The VGA monitors I tried didn’t work. I’m not sure if there are any other limitations. NOTE: The extended desktop feature has recently been removed from the beta and will return in a future update.
I have m1 iPad 2021
Will a bluetooth mouse works? I used a Logitech bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse and the iPad didn't seem to extend
Hi! I can’t confirm if it works with your mouse, but Apple removed this feature from the beta before iPadOS 16.1 was released. It’s back now, but still in beta with iPadOS 16.2 (scheduled for later this year).
@@fjordstrom thanks. I have 16.1 so the monitor support is not supported on this version. Right?
Correct, let’s hope it gets added to the final version of iPadOS 16.2 🙂
Yes school does not teach you how to use soft soft
I have an iPad Pro 11 with M1 with iPadOS 16.1 and I can connect an external monitor via a hub that also has a wired keyboard and mouse connected. I can use the keyboard and mouse but only mirror the iPad screen and in the display Settings there are no options to rearrange the screens. I have enabled stage manager but it does not charge anything. Any input to what the problem could be?
if you are on the ios 16 beta 10 release, they have disabled external monitor support. It is only available on beta 9 and lower.
I'm on 16.1. It's not working for me either. Disappointing 😩
Hi! Sorry, I just saw your comment now. As others have mentioned, they seem to have disabled this in the latest beta. It’ll still come to M1 in a future update. I think they’re taking their time to perfect the feature before releasing it.
What would be a great monitor to match the ipad pro 12.9?
I’m not really sure if you need a specific monitor for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Just keep in mind that audio gets redirected to that monitor, so you’ll need one with speakers, or connect speakers to the monitor. (I hope they add a way of audio to come out of the iPad when connected to a monitor.)
@@fjordstrom yeah, the lack of audio from the iPad surprised me at first
Don’t work witch me
Hi! Unfortunately, they’ve removed this feature from the current beta. I hope it will return soon.
All these features has been removed
Hi! External monitor support has indeed been removed for the iPadOS 16.1 release, but it’s currently back in iPadOS 16.2 beta.
@@fjordstrom Great Video. Really annoying that they removed this feature. My external monitor also just displays an entire mirrored IPad on about 2/3 of the 17” screen. Kinda useless in this configuration :(
How many of you are excited about spending another 1200 usd to buy another sh*t “pro” ipad for 1 feature your z processor could have easily would have handled it had Tim apple wouldn’t have had to get his bonus this year? Mirror mode is pure sh*t even on 5K ASD
Fake information, ipad cannot work like this.
This isn’t fake. iPadOS 16 really works like this. Check out Apple’s website (www.apple.com/ipados/ipados-16/) or other tech reviews about Stage Manager and External Monitor Support on iPadOS 16.
