About Meschera:
Meschera was formed by Alexandera Sidorova and Dmitry Kokarev. We use such instruments as taglharpa of two kinds and a Russian traditional instrument called “gusli”. These acoustic instruments create a certain ancient atmosphere with the help of a specific remarkable rasping sound. It has a dark coloring which makes the listeners imagine the pictures of cold northern lands in their heads. What’s more, the elements of traditional vocals and the mixture of various vocal styles make the emotions very vivid, practically animalic. “Meschera” is the dark side of our souls.
Nature is one of our richest sources of inspiration. It powers us up and gives us energy. 80% of our album is connected with the images of nature. The word “Meschera” itself is not only the title of the territory which is situated between two rivers called Oka and Klyazma (the area of thick forests, numerous lakes, cranberry swamps, dove-colored fogs, and dark rivers), but also is the name of some East Slavic tribes.

Since Alexander and Alexandra are not originally slavic names her pronounce is closer to actual ones i think.

We have many interesting rock and metal bands: Ария, Wildways, Stigmata (music is cool, vocal too, but videos have bad quality), Кипелов, Marina, Эпидемия (famous by wrote and playing metal-operas). Actually that's a little part of names, but really interesting.

What does „Guardian of the pine thickets“ mean?

This song is about the spirit of mystical deep pine forest, who guards it in the image of black raven and can take the human life away.
Alexandra, the vocalist who play the sorceress in the video prays to the spirit asking not to take her away sacrificing her blood.
This is old Slavic mistycal vibe.
My Russian is a bit rusty, but her singing the lyrics „возвращает меня“ at the end of the chorus („brings me back“) reminds me of Evanescence („Bring me to live“) Coincidence?
