Can the Tesla Model 3 be stopped?!

  • There’s no denying that the Tesla Model 3 is one of the most popular all-electric saloons in the world.
No matter where you are in the world, chances are it won’t take long until you spot a Model 3 driving by - and an all-new edition is due out in early 2024! The question is, will this all-new Model 3 be able to keep hold of its crown? Or could some other all-electric saloons take its place, such as the IONIQ 6, Mercedes EQE or BMW i4?
Well to start off, let’s check out the design of these four EVs. Starting with the new Model 3, there are slimmer headlights up front as well as a big central vent in the bumper. There are new alloy wheel designs as well as some specially designed tyres for the car, and around the back, there’s a set of new taillights and an updated bumper.
On the inside, there are a number of new features. The seats now come with ventilation, and there’s an LED light bar that runs along the side doors and across the dash. The stalks have also been removed from the steering wheel, with indicator buttons now added to it.
Next up we have the Hyundai. The Ioniq 6 has a sleek, swooping body design, coupled with dual spoilers at the back. It comes with a pixelated light design similar to the 5, although it also has a bit of a strange rear bumper design. The sleek looks continue around the front, and all-in-all it’s pretty smart!
On the inside the design is pretty similar to the Ioniq 5. There are good quality materials across the dash, and a large infotainment & digital dial dual screen mounted to the middle of it.
Next up we have the EQE. The outside looks pretty much identical to the all-electric EQS, but it’s just been made a bit smaller. There aren’t any smart creases on the outside either.
Thankfully the interior is much more striking. There are two interior styles to choose from, and both come with an absolutely huge infotainment screen - one of these stretches across the entire dash! The digital dial screens are super smart, and there are soft-touch materials throughout the entire cabin.
Then finally we have the BMW i4, it looks seriously impressive! It comes with the large ‘grille’ design at the front, side skirts along the side, and at the back, you'll find sculptured tail lights and a mini bootlip spoiler.
Step inside and the design is the same as the all-new M3 and M4, so you know it’ll be nice to sit in. But then it’s not a surprise given it’s built on the same platform as the M3!
So they all look nice, but then it comes down to the price. The new Tesla Model 3 will be released in the UK in early 2024 and will cost from £39,990. The Ioniq 6 starts from just under £47,000, and the i4 starts at around £50,000 price tag. But the most expensive car is the Mercedes EQE, which will set you back £69,000!
So which of you think is best? Let us know in the comments!

I could care less about the other manufacturers whether they make EV vehicles or not. I will always buy my vehicles from Tesla from now on. Also, Their pricings are slowly coming down. Plus I don't like buying from dealerships, Tesla direct buy to the customer is the best. i only charge my Tesla at home, so I don't do any public charging.

Here in Germany you see a lot of Teslas but at the same Time you also see a lot of Skoda, Seat, Cupra, VW, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi etc etc. EVs.
I noticed a lot of Americans especially are surprised by that, mentioning lower Range, but Range believe it or not is not as important in most of Europe as you rarely need a crazy high Range for Work, Business Trips etc. While in the USA everything is much further apart, so Range matters more.
Also f.e. here in Germany at least you will have a hard Time NOT finding a Charging Station everywhere. So it's difficult to experience Range Anxiety here.
My point being: Many People buy Legacy Brand EVs because they care more abot Customer Service and of course have Brand Loyalty because of Good Experiences. So it's not rare to see someone prefer an Audi, VW etc. EV over a Tesla even if the Price is around the same or even more expensive.

Especially since Standard Range Tesla Model 3 has now been reduced to £39,990 this is a winner. Also drops it below the so called "luxury car tax" as long as you have it in white.

    • @Jaw0lf
      @Jaw0lf 5 місяців тому

@@Jimthehumanoid The UK government announced that road tax will be applied retrospectively from 1st April 2025 to include EV's from 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2025. I believe that the luxury car tax that is applied to all cars over £40,000 will only be applied to cars purchased after this is implemented.
So having an EV less than £40,000 now guarantees that it would not be hit by any changes.

When you're cutting together old tests, I thought you could at least have gone to the effort of comparing key stats in one screenshot - that would have made for an easy comparison in a glance. In fact, I thought you said you were going to do that early in the video... did I miss it?

If you’re worried about charging networks where you live, my experience says…..don’t stress.
For daily driving you would charge at home while sleeping 95% of the time (or for free with solar) unless you had to park your car on street or were doing a long road trips.
Even in big, long distance Australia range anxiety for most commuters is almost non-existent.
Most drivers only do 20-100kms a day on average. I have zero regrets after nearly 30,000kms in a Model 3.

Just love this Ionic interior design and practicality
(never was in one, so I can't talk about quality), it is my favorite from those cars in this video...but exterior is just terrible.
I however choose car based on how I feel while sitting in it, and having ugly car as that wouldn't be a problem if it would be made right.
Mercedes and Tesla never had great quality control, i hate that piano black plastic in MB and there is so many problems with previous models of Model 3 which I don't expect that they have fixed...but both of those cars looks nice, and technologies are great...in Tesla's case, not just in car, but also best batteries and charging network (which is alone thing that would make me buy one).
Bmw is as a regular car as it could be, I guess that it could win a lot of buyers, just because not everyone is looking for space shuttles.
Anyway...nice cars, all of them on their own...but they are so different, especially in pricing...so everyone should find something for them self.

Just swopped my one year old MG ZS EV LR top spec for an end of line (but new) TM3. It has RWD , a big battery and 620km of range (WLTP). After the bonus from the French government it cost me 39.5 k €. So 10k € for the upgrade. And I get access to the Tesla supercharger network plus the free Tesla destination chargers in hotels and shopping Malls. Tesla and MG are the only options worth considering in Europe.

I thought, at least in the USA rear signals cant be on moving part of trunk. In other words when trunk is opened the signal light should be on body of car. I cant see Tesla making two separate designs of trunk for USA and rest of world.
EDIT: On another video I noticed they have back-up signal/hazard lights at the bottom of the back of the car.pretty low/small but I guess that passes regulations

At 33:15, Mat states that turning off regenerative braking will maximize range. That is not correct.
Admittedly there are situations where using too much regenerative braking, followed by accelerating again, to much regen again, accelerating again, etc.... BUT that is all due to the driver. If you use the accelerator pedal properly and hold it down the correct amount to maintain the desired speed then you will maximize efficiency. Keeping the regenerative braking cranked up will maximize the use of regenerative braking when you do want to slow down, so again will pretty much always maximize efficiency.
