My dad has been a pilot for my entire life and he had to live where his airline was based and didn't live with us for a long time. He was not a deadbeat dad. It killed him to have to live away from us. I remember being her age and having that same sense of excitement when my dad was home. I lived a few blocks from my elementary school and this was back when you could walk home and no one said anything about it. The crossing guard told me i had a surprise waiting at home and when i turned down my block I saw his truck and ran the rest of the way home and jumped on him while he was sitting on the couch.

Watching this kind of video can make me cry. My mom died when I was two, raised by my grandma coz my dad seldom at home, more with his friends, gambling, drinking. I hardly had any memories with them.
