  • This toddler overheard a conversation between her dad and her elder sister where he scolded her. However, the toddler didn't like the way he spoke to her teenage daughter and decided to take matters into her own hands. She firmly told her dad that she was upset about how he handled the situation and tried to preach him to do better with the grace of God.

If a child doesn't make you a better person, nothing will. Children are God's gift to you. You can see yourself through them and provide them with the things you lacked as a child. It's your chance to heal and not an opportunity to inflict your pain upon them.

@@DeborahSch Raising 5 children doesn't make you good at it. I can see clearly amongst my people I know, kids (now adults) in families with authoritarian fathers are more unhappy and insecure. If maintaining your authority is your main priority in your relationships with kids, you're not going to have a good relationship with them. Of course you can still believe that you do, but that's another problem.
Like someone here said, the kid feels safe enough to express herself. I wouldn't dare do it in my family when I was a kid, because of sheer fear, not because of respect. Respect is earned by being a good example, not by shutting your kids down when they dare speak up.
The kind of parenting that you think is good leads to raising anger repressors who can't stand up for themselves. And then they'll be obsessed with authority in relationship with their children because they're insecure.

I totally respect the father to react so humbly and calm, and I absolutely love that the child dares to speak her mind, but I think her attitude is not really respectful. I'm not advocating a authoriarian style of parenting at all, but still, children should understand that there is a difference in how parents speak to children and how children speak to parents. After all, parents are the ones who are responsible, and children at that age do not understand everything, so they have to rely on their parents' good judgment many of times.

Standing up for yourself and others to an adult, especially to your own parents, is very scary when you're little, so she is very courageous. You can tell she has good parents, seeing how she feels safe and comfortable voicing her concerns like that. And incredibly bright as well. Her emotional intelligence is better than some adults. I hope her dad is proud, he's raising his kids well.

This little girl (NOT a toddler), understands the spiritual reason that she is in this family. She knows that God is pure love, and where there is love, there can be no anger of any kind. She’s coaching her dad on how to be a better person. If we’re not coming from a place of love, then it’s a place of power. Sing the sacred HU for love, compassion, healing & protection.

What a wonderful little girl. You can tell she was trying her best to express her disappointment to her father and reassure him that even though being a parent is tough, they will make it through anything if they have each other.
