Dear customer, whoever you are, please know that the internet is a slightly happier place right now due to you allowing us to see the pizza cutter used :D
Absolutely. Thanks for letting us all see it :)
Lena Scholz “your welcome”
Just slightly?
@@jhbryaniv Well, while a lot of people watch this, proportionately to all internet users it's (sadly) still not enough to thoroughly impact the entire internet. Also, all the nonsense happening in the world is still happening... Therefore 'slightly'

"A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one."
Yea I have questions on that kitchen, it’s incredible.
@@1014p Things in the mid west are cheaper, you can afford nice stuff more easily.
We will watch his career with great interest
Me seeing another prequelmemer in the comments:
He is the chosen one. He will bring balance.
Not going to lie, this gave me a new found appreciation for Will. I really would like to have more videos of Will using the tools he makes and kinda meshing them into cooking videos. His kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and would make a fantastic set for cooking vids.
Needs a little sound dampening or a lapel mic, but yes, I have to agree with you. I've definitely seen worse kitchen sets on food network!
I never expected his kitchen to be so beautiful! I expected like an average joe kitchen with 15 yr old white, mismatched appliances and cheap countertops.
@@tinyrage7067 then you see how much his work costs and you get why he can afford that. Especially in montana. Probably like 400k home. Over on the coast that would be 750-800k
Love that metal backsplash in his kitchen. It seems "appropriate".
To be fair he could probably start his own UA-cam channel.. If he hasnt already!
I need a monthly cooking with will.
More like weekly
B-roll food prep. Didn’t know it was a thing but wow, it’s a thing.
Yes. Cooking in the style of a forging video
Yes, and with that pfp, your username should have been Turbo Thunder.
Omg, this would actually be an amazing side channel for him 😂
"Stands are hard to make." Admittedly, not a phrase I expected to hear from the man who masterfully crafted a Damascus pizza cutter in only 5 episodes.
“So today I’m gonna step out of my element and work with materials other than metal.”....
“Ok so I was wrong let’s use this metal ring.”
Can't believe Will never stood on the pizza oven
Hahaha - I though Alec was going to hop up right there on the spot.
That's because that oven, on the gozney website, is 500 USD...
Like snoop dogg says..
Get ready for the next episode.
@@jhbryaniv.... but they got it for free from their client. Besides, them or their shop hands could have fixed it easy enough. It looked plenty solid though.
@@ModernProspector I don't doubt it should be able to, it does look sturdy. I just think they didn't want to post a video of themselves standing on the 500 oven their client sent them... I doubt the client who pays whatever it costs for will to make that pizza cutter is going to want a "fixed" pizza oven... Just thinking :)
Never give up! I like the stand you ended up with better anyway! Good job. -Matt
Matt creepin the comments lol
Yes. The cutter would have easily been knocked off or fallen out of the first iteration. The second was far better in terms of holding ability and I think the circle accentuated the cutter well. The base could have used a little more style but overall, I like it a lot.
Aren't you the guys who made a spoof video recently? Sarcasm, That Works. (your blacksmithing skills are off the charts btw!)
This is just there way of making longer or more content. These guys aren't that dumb. You always run into things, but not like the BS they've been pushing in these videos, for a while now.
Az just a little fun between craftsman.
My wife: when did that blacksmith guy ditched his glasses? He looks better now.
LMAO! Poor Alec...
Tell her they are both beautiful!
I guess he ditched the fake British accent, too!? 🤣
Your wife is savage
this is so sad
Will, thank you for taking me, taking us for this journey through making mistakes and dealing with them. It was a pleasure, great job!
Hey Will,
For cutting Plexi, try a saw blade with a high tooth-count - and when you’re sanding it, slower speeds work better… high speeds tend to melt the plexi and then it grabs…
There are also "triple chip grind" blades made especially for plastic. I've had good luck using one on other plastics, but I haven't tried plexiglass yet. I also have a much bigger, more stable saw with a better fence than the one Will was using, which might make a difference.
Or just use a scoring knife and snap it. Right tool for the right job.
@@laurawerner I bought one specifically for plexiglass and lexan and it works amazing
Also, heat polishing edges to be welded isn't generally as optimal a choice as a good fine sanding. Then a little capillary action with a really thin solvent and baddabing baddaboom, you get a nice joint. Usually.
I'm so glad he didn't use the plastic. The maple or bronze stand were better on their own. The bronze ring definitely echoed the cutter nicely. The steel stand did not add to the piece.
That pizza cutter deserves a hand blown glass cover, not acrylic.
Will: "I don't know anything about blowing glass, how hard can it be?"
Later Will: "Throws mangled piece of glass over his shoulder...."
Yea that would be at least a 28 part series of learning to blow glass!
Wow that stand turned out so well. Just clean, simple, yet extremely elegant to compliment the craftsmanship of the pizza cutter. Very very well done!
"This is my kitchen" *jaw drops and rolls away, never to be seen again.*
I love how Alex and Will are just going about their business like the whole world isn't going crazy. Maybe we should all move to the Montana mountains. I like what they're doing here.
Us mountain folk don't pay much attention to all y'alls catastrophes. That's why we live where we do. Away from "civilized" rioters and arsonists.
their mountains are on fire
There are still a few bastions of sanity in the US. Mine is in Arkansas.
You could do worse.
sorry, Montana is full. please try another state.
Both stands were interesting, but you nailed it with the second stand. It was simple and able to display the cutter without drawing away too much attention. Piece of art work...
Also protects that blade from cutting dulled cutting people open...
I love the fact that Will's citchen with Will in it look like every good cooking show. And his honest reaction about the pizza is just heartmelting
Who else likes the stand as much as the cutter.
5:13 but can you stand on the pizza cutter?
"There's no problem a little hand sanding can't fix" - Will probably
That should also be a shirt
Haha, he literally sanded his hand in this vid aswell.
The new McGyver: Duct tape in one hand, sand paper in the other! ;)
As a former chef, I need to recognize that your knife technique isn't bad.
lol yep. pizza came out looking bomb af too, but should have rolled the dough a bit flatter.
and i'd personally take the animal flesh off of it, but hey, it still looked really good.
Definitely more finesse than a normal home cook lol
His knife hand isn't that bad, but his off hand is scary and dangerous. He's gonna lose a bit of thumb if he keeps hanging it out there.
I am glad that it was a knife that he made 😁
Although, fine chopping the ingredients that you will put in the blender does not make a lot of sense.
Plexiglass cuts on a table saw: I get best results using a fine tooth blade and by running a sacrificial piece of plywood over top acrylic. The plywood prevents the acrylic from bending up and snagging the fluttering blade teeth. Edge still needs a polish after the cut, but the deep gouges are greatly reduced.
That super simple design for the stand worked out _very_ nicely. Discretely complimenting the cutter while not stealing any thunder. Good job.
Why don’t y’all have a shirt that’s says “I have no idea what I’m doing”
number 1 sales globally
I’d buy that! Maybe you could add themes along with that message. One with a power hammer, another with wood and saw, another with an anvil and hammer...etc. That way people could identify with the part of their maker experience they like best! :)
Because it's already written all over their faces 🤣

I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't cook the pizza in your forge. I made toast in mine once. Its really fast 😉
We stuck a frozen pizza in the heat treat oven when I was going to trade school for machining. About 15 seconds at 1400°F, get a nice blackened top with frozen insides.
It was awful.
Yeah, but the client did send them a pizza oven, it would be rude not to use it.
But they did. They cooked it in their brand new Pizza Forge.
And if you fold the pizza dough 16 times, do you have damascus-forged-baked pizza? 🤔

And re-comment on it's own. It's too good to be nested under someone else's comment!!!!!
The best part of this channel is that Will and Alec got show all of their failures and mistakes and that has gone a looooong way towards helping me not give up on my own projects.
I've been watching for years and let me say you guys make an amazing team. I love how you spend so much time on something and it breaks or doesn't work the way you want and you're just like oh well we will just make another. I die a little inside when I spend hours on something just to have it break when putting the finishing touches on. Would love to see more collaborations with other yt. Keep up the great work!
I can't believe you just did that. You made the coolest thing I've seen on UA-cam even better. That stand is awesome!
Wow! That was ridiculous - I love it. And I think you reaching for the brass ring was a much better idea, more in line with the cutter, and much more in your wheelhouse.
And this thing has a client buying it??? Clearly paying enough to send you a pizza oven too. Wut????
I would totally buy that pizza cutter! Not sure I would throw in a free oven, but I would pay good money for it. LOL
Beautiful work! A couple notes on working with acrylic of the need arises:
1. Acrylic table saw blade - Freud makes a good one that will leave way cleaner edges.
2. Finish the edges with a card scraper - it’s faster and cleaner than sanding.
3. Weld-on acrylic glue - sets up almost immediately without need for clamping and it holds super strong.
Wow Will's kitchen is nicer than some people who do cooking shows.
Also that is the coolest and most laid back client you could ever ask for. Glad to know the pizza cutter is going to a good guy.
I’m thinking you should make a full kitchen set to match.
I thought to myself that the client would want a set of knives that would match that ridiculously awesome piece of hardware!
Yes
@@michaelh5564 I already inquired about a set of knives (im not the client) they want 10k for 6 knives and 12-15k for 9. Not including a stand.

I never thought we'd actually get to see it cut pizza. I kinda like how the stand turned out with that bronze piece way more that the wood one that broke. Its amazing looking all around.

The failures led to a really great design with the bronze ring holder. This project was a lot of craftsmanship, Will is a true artisan.
Well done!!! The cutter and stand look amazing!!! That pizza was a great effort......especially for your first one! So glad the pizza cutter's first cut wasn't a Dominos!!!!! I make my pizzas at home MOST of the time. They are sooooooo much better than delivery. It gets easier every time. I am genuinely happy I spent time watching this video series!!!! Thank you!

Me too :)
As a machinist, I see your point, but I also understand that Will is not a machinist and wouldn't think to use it to skim a couple thou off just to make it shiny.
Hopefully he reads this comment and considers it next time. Besides the entertainment... the main reason many watch these types of videos is to learn either new skills or improve old ones. Often times we fall back on habits (like using belt sanders to polish 😁) and may not try potentially better / more efficient methods.
He could have cleaned up the acrylic on the mill too.
Now I really want to know who the client is lol.
Same!
Yea that's a nice pizza oven for them to just give them
It's John.
Papa John.
Somebody commented below called Paolo Caso, looks like it's him.
Well, it's probably someone in the pizza business. Maybe the ones that sell the oven. Or just someone really loaded that loves pizza.
Flipping renaissance man right there!! Works steel and wood like a master, makes craft pizzas like a boss!
That's *such* a good idea for a pizza cutter mount, you should be as proud of that as the exquisite detail in the cutter itself. Well played sir, well played
Finally some good pizza cutter
Adam Savage watching Will cut the acrylic: "Oh, sweet summer child....."
Quick tip I learned in a cooking class, use corn meal on your pizza peel. It allows for an easy slide off and into the fire and back out again. It doesn't compromise the bottom dough or make anything taste funny from my experience! Just a helpful tip!
I wanted to comment about those BEAUTIFUL chanfers, but then there was that BEAUTIFUL garden, and then the BEAUTIFUL kitchen!
"Thick and poorly made." Sounds like me.
😅😅😅
Ouch
You need to stay away from the forge, you are burning yourself.
And Action! Cut, take, cut the cut, action and we have it the Cut is done!!
The stand complements the beautiful pizza cutter. Will is an exceptional artist.
3:45 Try using a finer tooth blade installed backwards in the saw for the acrylic. It cuts slow and leaves some melted acrylic on the edges, but a little fine filing will clean that up quickly.
*Has a dedicated pizza oven*
"I have no idea what I'm doing"
He just got gifted the pizza oven earlier in the episode.
Truly this is the magnum opus of the channel. Great work Steele crew!
As a chef I couldn’t be more proud of you though will. Wonderful knife work and just hand work in general for someone who isn’t a pastry chef let alone pizza maker

"I have no idea what I am doing"
Proceeds to Gordon Ramsay the crap outa that pizza!
They definitely only made this whole entire episode because Will forgot to cut a pizza in the last one
I totally agree.😁👌👍
I agree with previous post, getting to se it work and I truly love the stand after second attempt. The stand fits the beauty of the pizza cuter. It is gorgeous.
As a fellow who made pizza for a decade, I think perhaps the most important thing in a pizza cutter stand is that you can put/take the pizza cutter into/from it with one hand quickly and easily. Which I think you may have achieved by accident with the second stand, kudos!
Some tips: You'll have better luck with the dough if you make a ball (fold it in on itself until is smooth on all sides except the bottom) and let it rise for awhile (overnight, if in the fridge).
You'll get less burnt cheese if you age the cheese, just a little. Cut/shred it, then give it a couple days in the fridge to harden up, then use it on your pizza.
Thanks for the journey, super awesome pizza cutter.
Now I wanna buy the pizza oven more than the coffee.
Try BRCC. They support America’s Veterans and their coffee absolutely rocks.
I'm so glad the client felt the way that we did, making a pizza cutter and not testing it by cutting pizza is very sad. But you have all redeemed yourselves in my eyes!
This is one of the cooler things ive seen made on this channel, especially the stand. The pizza making finale was a perfect touch to end it.
When some rich guy's pizza cutter costs more than my car.....
And he sends an oven that costs more than my car.
@@53prime maybe the guy owns the company that makes those ovens. Or maybe the guy just really loves pizza.
My life is complete... I never thought I would see them cut a pizza with the pizza cutter
So Will starts off with a good looking 2 piece stand idea, upgrades to a better looking 1 piece stand idea, breaks that one then just happens to create an even better, totally awesome, stand?!
I´ve never been jealous of a pizza cutter before. Thank you customer for ordering this and letting Will show us the pizza cutter in action!
It's funny how the more simple of the ideas that you get turn out to be the far better of those ideas. That is an amazing stand.
"Customer"
For the sake of a series of videos, we all know the "customer" is just Will.
nah, its actually a dude on insta i found, if you go the alecsteeleco you can purchase a custom order, but there crazy expensive
Will: Hey Alec just finished that pizza cutter series, 5 parts!
Alec: Naw, we gotta but those numbers up, those are rookie numbers.
That end result was absolutely amazing. What a beautiful piece of art.
Laser cuts acrylic easily and leaves clear finish. Go to Canal St. Plastics website and buy acrylic cement. It is a thin clean liquid that you apply to acrylic joints that are already taped in place. Application is through syringe thin needle that uses capillary action to flow into join. It binds almost instantly. Very strong and clear. Use sparingly. It’s less viscous than water.
Glad wood stand broke. The round one looks wonderful.
I like it when Will does the sponsor segment as well on the videos he's featured in.
That’s an awesome piece-a
Absolutely stunning to see that craftmanship! Beautiful project to a very satisfying conclusion!
That stand looks freaking fenomenal!
The pizza cutter and the stand deserve to be in a dam museum.

I reckon the client is AlexFrenchGuy, idk why,but seems feesable to me,,
“So to make ze pearfect neopolotin pizza, of courz needed ze pearfecT cutting instrUment”
Next they will make him a set of Damascus chop sticks to eat ramen.
I reckon the same!
I reckon if it was a UA-camr they would give him a shoutout. I think it is more likely that the company that builds the Pizza Oven they got wants some nice piece to show off in their showroom.
Sven Schläpfer That was my guess too: the owner of the pizza oven company.
Working with acrylic:
use a plastic blade, neutral rake and very sharp to prevent chip out.
If possible, get it laser cut. Acrylic cuts like butter in a laser. - If you want it to last after laser cutting, consider annealing. It will prevent the micro-cracks and crazing that happens after a few years.
There is also the 'right glue'. We call it methyl-ethyl-badforyou...but it's poly methyl methacrylate. Solvent welder for acrylic that gives water clear joints if the surfaces were clean.
I loved the concept of the first stand, but seeing the second stand, im glad it broke. Such a beautiful combo, and I really have a new found respect for Will

That turned out... SO nice. I would like to individually appreciate everyone for their contributions to this video. Outstanding craftsmanship Will, everything I've seen you make has ended up amazing. Very nice shots as usual, cameraman. Excellent editing and music choice as always, editor, I like the new outro by the way. Thank you Alec for organizing the channel, shop, and people to make this happen, and I'll comment about your craftsmanship on another video. Thank you trade Coffee for sponsoring this and providing a service that the team loves.
They have a shop full of pizza ovens (Paragon brand) and get one for free too.
The stand is a perfect fit for the cutter. And of course seeing the finale - cutting pizza - was worth it.
yes!
True first
here is the real question. Why doesn't the local Ace want free advertising?
They probably didn't want to be a sponsor.
Just a tip for working with acrylic sheets in the future from a former glass shop employee. The have Plexiglas cutters for pretty cheap, score it a few times and then snap it off. If you do grind it, dry grind with a 120 belt and then take a razor knife and scrape the build up carefully. They also sell an acrylic "acid" that bonds it fairly quickly. Don't use clamps, use painters tape to hold shape. Fantastic work as ever guys! Keep it up!
I love the chaos and problem solving to get through a new project! In my small service business I feel the exact same story arch every time I'm doing a project at the limits of what I'm able to put together. That stumbly sweaty confusing workflow is what we're here to figure out!
Thank god. I was having nightmares about you not slicing a pizza.
"Hey Will, the pizza cutter is good and all but I just can't stand it"
Fantastic job on both the pizza cutter and the stand! 👏👏👏👏
I’ve always been highly critical of music on videos. But here’s the deal. Your guys seem to be masters at not only picking the music, but knowing exactly when and where to use it to the best effect so as not to be annoying at all.
How many people just fast forward to right when they arent talking about the sponsor???
I do
No I watch it to support them, I then buy the product to support them, I then invest in the company that’s in the sponsor and move to the country of where said company is based along with my ugly wife and disabled kids, all to support them.
Damn I really want pizza now
oh? you wanna piece of this? you wanna go? huh?
Created a magnificent peice of flawless art that took everyones breath away...
Thwarted by the stand and case
I've just watched a real talented guy for 1,5+ hours making a super fancy pizza cutter.
