Well, I’m 50 and have seen a ridiculous number of live bands throughout my life....we’re talking at LEAST 10 concerts a year. Kansas is absolutely in the top 10 I’ve ever seen and this song is also at the top. Different strokes, as always, but I know good from great and this one is great.
Over the Memorial Day Weekend I was following 4 radio stations across the country who were doing Countdowns of Top 500 Rock Songs of All Time. The Pittsburgh station had this song at #62, Minnesota 30, Virginia 17 and Texas had it at #5
Everyone likes something different. Different tastes and what not. Maybe it's just not up his alley that's all. I'm certain there are songs/artists that you and I don't really care for as well. And...just think of ALL the songs he does like. I love this song too! Stay healthy and strong! ✌❤🎶
This song KICKS ASSS ! ! ! I had a friend who played the drums, and watched him play along with this one, til I think I could play it, even today, lol. STILL DIGGGINIT
I've loved this song since it came out. I can't help but see the Winchester boys when it comes on though. My favorite Kansas songs are Portrait (He Knew) and Closet Chronicles but this is #3❤❤
Hudson, indeed. They toured together in the very early 90’s for short time. The show was epic. 🤘Another band that blew me away last year, but was my first time seeing them.....Three Days Grace. They were the opener for Breaking Benjamin and holy crap were they good live!
Seen Kansas twice in concert...wow what a performance!! THEN...the sun was setting...and the wind began to kick up dust...You got it..Dust in the wind began....
James Boyd They (well, a figment of what they were) played on my ship in the middle of the Indian Ocean as part of a USO tour back in '88. I was fortunate enough to see the most popular lineup on their last tour together, Audio-Visions, in December 1980. Alvin Lee opened. Awesome show.
If you watch "Supernatural" with Sam and Dean, you will definitely enjoy it more. They play this song from time to time with clips of their shows. Believe me.. it's awesome!!!
Jayvee, you just got a shout-out by a fellow reactor called Jamel_AKA_Jamal for reacting to this song :). I guess you guys often check out if a song has already been reacted to (and not been blocked) before you decide to do one of your own reactions. Keep up the awesome content, both of you! :)
I adore Kansas! I was born & raised in southwest Kansas & they played for all of our college dances before they got famous. 😊 Nice People. 💖 Lead singer is now with the Jay Sekulow Band along with many others from older bands & Christian performers. The Sekulow Band is amazing! 💕
I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Kansas live at one of their last live performances with Steve Walsh (the ultimate vocalist) before he called it quits...it was just SO stinking great! They were every bit as good live as what you heard here. Thanks for your reaction, man..............
Glad you've discovered Kansas! Every single musician in this group is a monster talent in their own right and, as a prog band, these talents were frequently on full display. There's so much material for you to wade through! lol. Song for America, anything from the Leftoverture or Point of Know Return albums, No One Together........SO much.
I'm enjoying seeing your reaction to the various genres of music. If you haven't already listened to and reacted to Jim Croce's "Time In a Bottle", I highly recommend it. I've got some other recommendations for you, too, but let's see how you like this one first. (I ❤ music, and I'm getting a real kick out of watching you, young man, fall in love with some of the music of my era. 😊)
SCORPIONS "WINDS OF CHANGE!" OHHH geeze!! I've watched some of your videos and you enjoy listening to a song with exceptional musicianship good vocals and a song that has words that make sense and a beautiful meani to the song. You really loved Queens song "Take My Breath Away" written by Freddie Mercury. This Scorpions song is by a German band that was popular back in the mid-to-late 1980s and early 1990s and they really put out some good music. " Winds of Change" came out around 1991 or so and around the time that the Soviet Union tore down the Berlin Wall separating East and West Berlin. The music is beautiful and the words are beautiful. I've watched some of your videos and I think I know the music you really like listening to and no doubt you would love that song and the words with regard to how human beings need to have respect and love one another.
This is one of a hand full of songs that you could count on hearing at every party you went to in the 70's. You could also count on most of the room singing along at the top of their lungs. Ahhhh... so glad I grew up with the music I did.
I think you were almost speechless Jayvee, the music blew you away as it has done to many over the years I shouldn't wonder. It was marvellous to listen to and like you I needed to move my feet lol. Your reactions said it all, your pleasure and enjoyment were there for all to see, bless you. Please take care and stay safe, love, hugs and Peace to you all Mary-Ellen UK
This is what snagged me on the show supernatural. It was just another monster of the week until the first time I got to a season finale. They do a short recap of the entire season with this song playing. Makes every season finale awesome and bittersweet at the same time
I’m a very recent sub to this channel. So jealous that this fella is enjoying all the music I enjoyed as a youth for the first time. Love his reactions!
this particular album is one of the all-time great classic rock albums, you may want to react to the whole album, i know you're always getting requests, so even if you don't have time to react to it. still take the time to listen to the whole thing , you'll be really glad that you did, but if you do react to it start with - what's on my mind. very similar to this in ways.
One of my Fave tunes to drive with..Just fills me with Absolute Freedom!! Awesome reaction Jayvee..thanks so much!..Memories go back a while..But the Feeling Never dies!!
Kerry Livgen=Kansas. Amazing, amazing artist and guitarist! His lyrics are deep, deep! The group definitely stood out for their musical abilities, changes in meter, and complex compositions. Yay! So glad you listened to this one! 👏🏽
The Absolutely Fantastic Steve Walsh and KANSAS. "CARRY ON WAYWARD SON" THE ALBUM LEFT OVERTURE. ONE OF 70'S TOP ALBUMS. GREAT VOCALS, AND HARMONIES. SUPERIOR SONG WRITING. WITH INSTRUMENTS PLAYING THAT FOLLOWED. EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS YOU CAN FEEL THE POWER... A TOP FAVORITE WITHOUT QUESTION!!
First time I heard this song was driving from Milwaukee to Fond du lac Wis in 1976. My friend had a little cassette player. We played it over and over. Great memory.
previously on supernatural (play carry on my wayward son) this is one of my favourite songs, i remember hearing it at the end of each season of supernatural
Have you done Boston's "Foreplay/Long Time" yet? This is the unofficial theme song of the TV show Supernatural, and in one of their meta episodes a group of young teens is putting on a "Supernatural" play. One girl sings a slow, sweet, heartwrenching version of Carry On Wayward Son that is really lovely.
Still think you’d love BTO (Bachman Turner Overdrive) singing Let It Ride! Shares a few similarities to this song...opens with great harmonies to reel you in, then comes the change that blows you away!
This awesome song is the unofficial theme tune, of one of the best shows out there, that always starts with the iconic words on the screen, "THE ROAD SO FAR".
Ive loved this song for years....before the TV show Supernatural.....now its 'iconicicized...' I can never hear this song the same ever again .I say no more. lol
Nobody mentioned it that I could see but this song is The Unofficial theme song to the CW's Supernatural which is going off the air after 15 Seasons. Long story short it follows the travels of two brothers through the back roads of the United States. One of my favorite favorite songs with my most favorite TV show. If you look on UA-cam under Supernatural 200th episode tidal fanfiction there is a ballad of carry on my wayward son which is absolutely stunning. They will have completed over 320 episodes by the time the show goes off the air.
This are real songs soft with class happy relaxation music I grow up they called the good old years great rock, wish all the new generations listen to our real music , and thank you so MUCH FOR THE MEMORABLE MEMORIES MUSIC AMEN AMEN and keep having fun finding our old classic soft music

Perfect Lover, What's On My Mind, Hold On, The Wall, No One Together, Song for America, Point of Know Return, Portrait (He Knew), Can I tell You, the list goes on and on. Kansas is one of the best bands in the world still touring.

This is the best song ever.
Let’s no go that far. Lol

This song makes me want to invent a time machine and go back to the 1970s. My favorite musical decade!
Me too, my era
I would happily give up the Internet to go back to the 70s.
@@Siansonea Facts!
I feel very fortunate to have grown up in that decade.
Same here! And everyone seemed to get along together - no problem.
This is a great song. But don't disregard dust in the wind just because it's a ballad. Steve Walsh one of rocks best vocalists ever
@@Military450Veteran i know he wasn't that impressed to slow its a great ballad
honestly, one shouldn't disregard their entire album Masque either:)
