Brand is an ecosystem of many elements starting from visual ending with what people say when you are not in the room.

Hi John, thanks for great informative videos! I’m rebranding, been in the industry nearly 30 years with no branding. Now with ample experience and specialist abilities I am aiming for premium branding working smarter not harder (the reverse of times past). A video on rebranding and reinventing brands would really be helpful.

Hi i have a nail salon we added other services and feel lost on how to include them in my branding since my salon name is Nail Addiction I feel like I made it hard on myself to expand on other services (I never thought I was going want other services in my salon) help please

      Hi Rosalinda,
That's a common challenge. It’s good to be specific with your brand as it makes it very clear what you offer but indeed a challenge when expanding. Will the new services just be a small add on to your core nail service business? How well established is your brand name today? Do you think you will miss opportunity to sell your new services when you have the name you have today? Where do you see your business going long term? Based on those questions, I’d probably make a call on if you should rebrand or just stick with the name you have even if you are doing more.. Cannot really give a simple answer to this without knowing a bit more :)

The Salon Business I’m in a smaller town and thankfully opened 4 1/2 years ago have done well most our booth renters are pretty booked solid (before covid) we added brow waxing and eyelash extensions and they booked super fast (months out) now I have hair and facials wanting to come in. As we closed down due to covid and reopening in a new location in 2021 I’m wondering do I add onto my name ? (CA still not allowed to work in nails or estheticians) but nail addiction is known as Quality over quantity, providers really care about clients and clean. Walking around town all our team are ask r u the girls from Nail Addiction. We had a team of 10.

Sounds like you’ve built a strong and good name and your team is booked. Would be careful changing unless you see evidence that this will help really help bring you more business. There are also more ways you can dial up communication about the other services offered. It’s also part of your story - expanding from nails to more services. You need to make the call. I understand it’s difficult. Would just recommend you don’t make the decision purely on that you don’t like the inconsistency with the name but that you hear and see things that signals that a change would help you grow. And if you change, you probably want to do a big thing out of it and invest in good communication around your expansion.
