Hey nerbit, glad to see a ds1 challenge run! As a long standing datk souls lover, I'd love to answer on of the questions you had about the stray demon. The most common strategy for stray is just to use a weapon with bleed or to use sorcery. He's super bad against bleed and a good bleed weapon can take him out Instantly! Well, not instantly, but pretty easily. I recommend the flamburge for people who like great swords, or the bandits knife for people who just like fast damage.
A Nerbit video? On one of my favourite games in my favourite series? Oh hell yeah, bring it on, I've been craving more souls challenge runs in my life Also, for anyone else wanting to do the club only run, you can make Nito even easier by getting the occult club from the same room you can get Havel's armour, and then un-ascending said club to get an easy +5 divine club. Considering skeletons are weak to blunt/strike and divine/holy damage, and it also makes them not respawn, it makes an already pretty easy boss even easier.
I love this video, this is legit how I ran through Dark Souls my first time ever playing. Started deprived cause I wanted a challenge and what got me was that the heavy attack launched you forward. Literally got to O&S with just the club and then decided to dawn the glorious Smough armor and his hammer. Playing through DS1 with no spoilers was the best experience I had in a souls game. Got too many spoilers with Elden Ring since I’m always on UA-cam, but I’m looking forward to starting DS3 since I know nothing about it other than the DS1 characters are in it lol thanks for the nostalgia moment, def subbing and love the video!!!

I would love more Dark Souls Challenge runs. One kind of challenge run I haven't seen a lot of recently is the Classy run. The idea is this, you pick any class and must start with the pendant gift. From then on the entire run must use only your starting equipment and you're not allowed to unequip anything. Rings and attuned spells are changeable and the less restrictive version of the challenge also allows leveling
What a happy coincidence, I just started a Great Club character called Unga Bunga and I see this amazing video pop up. Love to see you branching into the Souls franchise.
I had an idea for a run. Can you beat Fallout 4 as Alex Mercer? Requirements: * Unarmed build with Explosives as a secondary combat method. * Your diet is exclusively blood packs and dead things that were killed recently. That includes people. Take the Cannibal perk. * Wear a hoodie or a leather jacket most of the time, but clothing taken from someone you ate is acceptable. * Get the Deathclaw Gauntlet as soon as possible. Use it often. * RadAway is the only chem you’re allowed to use. * You hate mad scientists with a burning passion. The Institute must die. * If the Brotherhood finds out that you’re a pre-war experimental weapon, killing you will be their top priority. Do yourself a favor and kill them first. * The Railroad is able to see the humanity in people who aren’t human. Not being human yourself, you appreciate that. They get to live. * You have no social skills. Be rude often. * Sex and romance are not for you. Avoid them. * Piper reminds you of your sister, Dana. Do something nice for her.

Oh, now you just gave me an idea... "Can You Beat Fallout 76...as Mount Rushmore?", featuring Nerbit, ManyATrueNerd, Joov, and (if you can persuade him) MittenSquad as the four faces.
Seriously, I love that you're expanding. And yes to a Mortal Kombat game once, hah. I also have a challenge, if you're curious and would like to accept it: Similar to your cannibal run. How about a Vampire run in Fallout 3, where you Cosplay as Blade and steal the Shish Kebab as your only weapon. (You are allowed to repair it.)
I didn't know that I needed Nerbit Dark Souls, but your pacing and video style fits the genre so well I hope you keep making these style videos and that others enjoy them as much as I do!
With the Bed of Chaos, literally no one will fault you for fighting it in that way. It's practically an intended feature as the 'normal' way of leaving the arena is dying and they clearly made the roots not respawn for a reason. In fact the most common way I see people do it anymore is just to lob firebombs from the start of the room into the roots then rush the actual larva so seeing someone actually go for the roots was somewhat refreshing in itself.
Skyrim Minecraft Challenge; you must only use items you craft yourself; No looting, No purchasing, not even materials; you have to gather those yourself. You can loot the pickaxe, fishing rod, and woodcutter's axe you need to get started, but everything else you use for combat MUST be crafted by you, with materials you gathered yourself. The only horse you're allowed to use is the dwemer automoton, as that's the only one you can craft. No fast Travel. You must construct a fully functioning house and only use that one for your home, and optionally, add all crafting stations. Then you must complete the main quest with only weapons and armor you crafted yourself from materials you mined/gathered yourself. Any gold you need to complete these goals, like buying the plot of land for the house, must be purchased in true minecraft fashion; with emeralds. Mine them, refine them, sell them without making jewelry. Alternatively, you can sell other things you've made, as long as you do not purchase any gear, potions, food, or materials, but you have to keep all septims as emeralds untill you have to spend them, spending them all into emeralds at, say, kahjiit traders, or general goods stores. You MAY purchase training, but again, only with emeralds you mine. Alternatively, you can nix the purchasing training all together for extra challenge, or mine and smelt gold bars instead of emeralds for less challenge.
Love the backlogs shout-out and the Dark soul content Fun tip, target shield gives you longer parry window. You probably already know this but just in case you don't.
Pretty good vid, and I have a suggestion for a challenge run: Can you beat Fallout New Vegas (or 3, either is good) by only moonwalking? Rules: You can walk backwards (except leaving doc mitchel's house/ entering + exciting buildings) Any weapons are allowed Can only wear a suit and fedora No fast travel (because you could secretly not moonwalk)
I always wondered in the back of my head if you would enter into the world of DS challenge runs. Your style of challenge run video editing fits DS well.
I'd love to see you tackle the rest of the Souls franchise, ESPECIALLY Elden Ring since it's my favorite Fromsoft game (and the first one I've completed...3 or 4 times)
About the Stray Demon cheese, Zullie (I think) has a video about how the Jump attack is coded as a grab move, which causes it to reset enemies to default positions. My guess is that that is what's causing the looping AI.

Thought this was The Backlogs at first lol. Welcome to Dark Souls runs! Glad to see what you cook up for with this franchise lol
incredible how he gets the baldur sword on a club only run while trying to get some armor. rng sure is something huh
Love the backlogs shout-out and the Dark soul content
Fun tip, target shield gives you longer parry window. You probably already know this but just in case you don't.
Pretty good vid, and I have a suggestion for a challenge run: Can you beat Fallout New Vegas (or 3, either is good) by only moonwalking?
Rules:
You can walk backwards (except leaving doc mitchel's house/ entering + exciting buildings)
Any weapons are allowed
Can only wear a suit and fedora
No fast travel (because you could secretly not moonwalk)
Wow, this is unexpected. One of my favorite UA-camrs playing one of my favorite games.such a gift.
I always love seeing dark souls challenges from my favourite youtubers. Fromsoft games are some of the best ever made
I always wondered in the back of my head if you would enter into the world of DS challenge runs. Your style of challenge run video editing fits DS well.
I'd love to see you tackle the rest of the Souls franchise, ESPECIALLY Elden Ring since it's my favorite Fromsoft game (and the first one I've completed...3 or 4 times)
I've never played a SoulsBourne game, or Elden Ring, and I still enjoyed watching this. Well done!
Soulsborne, not SoulsBourne.
After all, it's called Bloodborne, not BloodBourne.
Thank you, @@Spootington, I honestly thought it was spelled with the "u"...
I know nothing about dark souls and found this interesting to watch. Great job Nerbit.
What a combo
Northern Irish and a Souls Fan just like me
Thanks for starting to make souls content and always praise the sun
Oh, neat! A Nerbit video makes for a good day. Looking forward to seeing how you handle the game. Love to see a shout out for The Backlogs!
About the Stray Demon cheese, Zullie (I think) has a video about how the Jump attack is coded as a grab move, which causes it to reset enemies to default positions. My guess is that that is what's causing the looping AI.
I'm just imagining the character based souls runs, Souls and other souls-like games could be some amazing challenge runs for the channel
Man, I am happy that you are keep trying out new games for this video-format.
It keeps things fresh and I really like it :D
Love seeing someone else recommend The Backlogs. My favourite challenge runner, tbh
Never played nor seen any souls game/souls like before, but I loved the video and would love to see more.
